AAIFF presence in New York has a small presence in the Asian community yet a big impact. Through one of my many Asian social networking group, Meetup, message boards where a suggested event of AAIFF’s 2009 were running for a brief time, I took upon that suggestion and saw«Pastry» 2009. «Pastry» is directed by Hong Kong’s Risky Liu, which ran at New York’s Chelsea Cinemas who I saw it with the Power of One! For this Cantonese Chigga who does not have access to cable TV of specialty language stations showing foreign films, AAIFF is my portal to connect me to my country of origin. AAIFF shows films in Asian languages of Korean, Japanese, et al. Despite of the lack thereof renowned actors/actresses in the Asian hemisphere, AAIFF produces movies that are unique symbolism. I highly recommend AAIFF to anyone who genuinely appreciates Asian language and/or Asian culture to the fullest. I rate AAIFF four stars as the 2010 films are not posted which the previous 2009 year info are still listed, the site is outdated.
