Quiet flight was our last stop out of NSB — and its pretty cool inside. Nice décor and a ton of selection of popular-branded clothing. We visited in off-season, so the store was pretty empty when we walked in. My wife wanted to get me a present for my bday, so we looked around. The staff were helpful, asking us if we wanted hem to grab something off she shelf often and pretty friendly, too. We found a couple things for me, they ran a sale that same week that we took advantage of. The shirt that we found for my wife was out of stock in her size, and the worker she talked to recommended going online and ordering direct from the manufacturer. Pretty cool. So, the store feels like a mall store a little — but, the locals that stopped in while we were there(«hey guys!» Etc) and the helpful staff that were there made it better. I’d say that I wasn’t super wowed by the prices, but we were shopping the popular surf brands, too… not looking for bargains or anything. See you next time, Quiet! I mean *quiet*

Was in town for a day and a half and picked up a Modern Blackbird. We were helped by two guys. A young kid from Zimbabwe and another guy Cody. They were extremely helpful in helping me pick out a new board and were very knowledgable about the different boards they had. It was such a friendly place and they kept their prices fair. I’ll definitely be visiting quiet flight again when were in town again.

Pleasant staff, nice selection, reasonable prices. They had some very cutes tuff for girls and guys. I would shop here more often if I lived around here. Limited brands but I liked the brands carried.

Whatever you do do not buy anything from this shop! My sons grandmother purchased a watch from them as a gift for my son. On the second day he wore it, it quit telling time. We took it back to them and they could see it wasn’t working properly. They told us without the receipt they couldn’t exchange it, give him a different on or refund our money. We explained it was a gift and she had returned to Arizona. «Too bad» was pretty much the attitude. They knew that was from their shop but didn’t want to help in any way. Why should they care they already had our money?! Better hope you don’t have any problems because you will be stuck with it! You can always tell the character of a organization by how they treat their customers. This organization sucks!!!

Like their neighbor, Inlet Charley’s, Quiet Flight is very limited in their brand selection, in this case focused apparently on Volcom and Billabong(whereas Charley’s is nearly all Rip Curl). I don’t understand this: why narrow your store to two brands you can find in any Pac-Sun when you’re a core shop? Their selection of boards is alright, but the clothing selection which takes up the lion’s share of the shop is just strange, although I will give that they have plenty of Billabong – like an absurd amount and things like backpacks which are seasonal at some stores. Still, for a real core surf shop in NSB, head to Red Dog.

Okay… so…a little bias because I grew up in NSB but this shop is near an dear to my heart. I surfed NSB, Ponce and Bethune all of my life and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve walked in here for wax, sunscreen or any other gear that I needed. I’ve bought boards and boards from this place. They have a great new and used selection most of the year and there is always someone there knowledgable to help out. From leashes to DVDs; longboards to shortboards, they have it all. I just went back this weekend and picked up a sweatshirt, a few shirts and some sunglasses before I had to head back to Seattle. Great management by Amanda Anderson also! Ask for her and she’ll help you out. There is a short list in NSB for surf shops and great gear but QF is at the top of that list.
