Teriyaki shrimp were tough. Apparently just brushed with some sauce when cooked to make them«Teriyaki». My wife’s chicken was cooked much better, but there wasn’t much flavor.

Started to write a review of their prime rib early bird, then saw that Chris M. had already written the review I was about to write! Perhaps they have changed their early bird policy because it is now available from 11:30AM through 6PM on weekdays. We were there at 1:30 on a Tuesday and the place was pretty empty. No line waiting when we left either. My advice: Go mid-afternoon and kill both lunch and dinner with one meal! There are lots of other early bird choices, but the prime rib is incredible.

Just meh. Got the pick 3 platter, everything tasted the same cooked in the same oil. The soup was ok, the salad bar was ok. The wood paneling has got to go. Mostly old people in there.

When in Rome… went with family for the early bird. Got in with a wait of about 3 minutes, but the wait when we left looked pretty horrific! So get there early. I had the combo with fried fish, shrimp, scallops and crab cake. The fish was not the best quality, the shrimp were small and scallops were sort of chewy. The hushpuppy was really good and I loved the salad bar. I had the baked potato, which was also very good. Based on my meal alone, I would give 3 stars, but my family had a few other dishes that were really good. They are known for their prime rib, which others were raving about. My cousin had a grilled fish that was flavorful and flaky. Dinner came with buckets of bread and cinnamon rolls, which reminded me of a great place I used to eat in Dallas… Southern Kitchen. It was nice that they offered to go containers to take the bread we didn’t eat from the table. The kids enjoyed the meals from the kid’s menu, one had spare ribs and others had burgers and fish. The kids wanted to come here and the atmosphere was enjoyable. I would enjoy going back, but I would not order the combo again. They don’t take reservations(we were a party of 11) and they only had one table large enough for all of us, so we split into 2 tables, which was fine, but it was very cramped inside. They could easily double their size and still do a bang up job!

The salad bar was ok, but the rest of the meal was fantastic. We got prime rib, fried shrimp, and stuffed shrimp smothered in cheese and they were all really good. The hush puppy was really good and usually I think they are bland at other places. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

If you’re looking for prime rib this may be the place for you, they were out of it when we were there. But if you want seafood you’re better off going to long John silvers. We were terribly disappointed with food. Salad bar is decent.

$ 3 Manhattan’s during happy hour. The bar area is small and extremely packed during peak hours. We were told a 30 minute wait for a table of 6 but wound up waiting well over an hour. The food was very good and included a salad bar with seafood soup.

Homerun! They have an awesome Early Bird Special Menu. It begins at 4:00PM on weekdays. A group of us(five) went in this evening just before 5:00PM. Within 15 – 20 minutes, the restaurant was totally packed. I had the 10 oz. prime rib. It was truly one of the very best prime ribs I have ever had: it was cooked perfectly: just the way I ordered it, medium rare. It was so tender that I could have cut it with a butter knife. With the early bird dinners come a bountiful salad bar, Manhattan Clam Chowder, dinner rolls, cinnamon buns, a choice of starch sides, and a Hush Puppy. Cokes are with free refills, and the moment I took the last sip of one, the waitress was setting a fresh glass down in its place. Our waitress was uncommonly attentive. The waitstaff at large was attentive, efficient, and exceedingly friendly. This meal was an excellent deal. I definitely ate way more than $ 18.00 worth of food, and the quality of everything I ate was second-to-none. By the time we were leaving, hearts of people were lined up waiting outside to eat. This place is one that is actually worth the wait!

I got the fish of the day off the lunch early bird menu. Fish was cooked great, the salad bar was good and clean. Nothing special in the bar but it was tasty. The meal came with fresh bread and butter. Well worth the stop.

Good salad bar and the fish chowder is good, although the herbs were a little overpowering. Had fish of the day, which was white roughy done scampi style. Good portion and seasoning, although the coating was a little mushy. Loved the complimentary valet parking in the rain! My companions had the prime rib and said it was excellent – very tender and tasty. The steamed oysters were«good», but the crab cake was«not worthy of rating». Service was efficient and timely.

Nice place for lunch, great service. Food came out quick. It was packed but bar area was clear. Everyone was chowing down, eyes on thier plates, thats how ya know the foods good. Ordered the fish of the day sandwich and dozens raw oysters. Food came out in 5 mins! Bartender, Matt, recommended the prime rib-so will have to try it next time.

This place has a good menu with lots of choices, and gives you lots of little freebies like the cinnamon rolls and the fish chowder. I’m not sure all those extra things are needed, but we came away full and with tomorrow’s breakfast taken care of! In our large party, we had blackened fish of the day which was delicious, lots of shrimp, raw oysters, and some fried fish. Everybody came away happy. This is by no means haute cuisine but just really good solid fresh seafood prepared well.

This place was pretty decent. I would consider it over priced for the quality of the food. We’ve been using Unilocal to find some good places to try down here and decided to try out Blackbeards Inn. The service was my favorite part. Our waitress was spectacular! So friendly, personable and funny! She definitely made the experience for me… I wish I could remember her name! Kind of odd though, we went about 4 pm, and most the wait staff was standing behind the kitchen door(which can see into the dining area) and just staring at the customers. It was a bit unnerving. The best part of their food was the fresh salad bar. Everything was just so fresh and crisp! Delicious! You also get a Manhattan Fish Chowder, not for me as I did not like it. They give you nice hot rolls and cinnamon rolls. Delicious! For my meal, I got a full rack of ribs and steak fries. Very disappointing. For a full rack of ribs, it was pretty sad. Such little meat! It was super tender though, you barely had to touch it for the bones to fall right off. My friends both got the prime rib. They both said it was ‘Good but too fatty and nothing to write home about.‘ Would I go back? No, but I am glad we tried it! And thank you to our wonderful waitress for the outstanding service!

The five stars is exclusively for the prime rib. Yes, I have experienced THEBEST prime rib of my life at a seafood place in NSB. Who’d have thought? The rest of the meal gets 4 stars, so even if you’re not there for prime rib, you’ll still get a great meal. The atmosphere is part old supper club part sea shanty/lodge. Dark wood, nautical décor everywhere, a bit cramped and stuffy, but I looked past that. We were seated in the dining room to the left of the hostess podium. The room had its own bathrooms and full salad bar, because pretty much every meal on the menu came with unlimited salad bar trips(including their fish chowder). I ordered the prime rib with stuffed shrimp and my father ordered a broiled platter of fish, scallops, and shrimp. I could wax poetic about the prime rib all day so I’ll keep it short — it was the most tender, flavorful, well marbled, THICK, and perfectly cooked medium-rare cut I’ve ever had. I will gladly pay the $ 30 again for the PR and stuffed shrimp, because the shrimp were also huge(4 big gulf shrimp) and delicious with a well seasoned crab mix stuffed on top. I got the smallest PR cut which I believe was 10−12oz. but I think it had to be more than that because there was no way I could finish it. Between the salad bar, soup, bucket of rolls, and then the PR, shrimp, and side(baked potato) I had at least 2 more meals out of all that when I took it home. My dad’s broiled plate came with a light seasoning and butter sauce which gave everything a mild flavor that didn’t overpower the seafood. The scallops were a bit tough, but everything else was perfectly cooked and tasty. The waiter was super nice and attentive. Even though we dropped $ 70 for two dinners, considering we took home enough for 2 meals, it’s a pretty good deal. Also we ordered some of the more expensive items on the menu, they have other things priced much lower. Speaking of the menu, it’s HUGE. I could eat there every day for a month and still not try everything. Usually that scares me, but since it’s almost all seafood it’s not a case of too many dishes and they don’t do any of them well. I’m confident that they do pretty much all of it well, and I’ll definitely be back to try some other stuff(who am I kidding? I’ll never get past the prime rib, they’d have to be out of it before I got something else).

Fun old school place. Food is decent. I guess oysters here just don’t compare to the creamier and sweeter west coast varieties and don’t have the briny bite to the Northeastern ones. They were nice and fat but rather bland in taste. Clams Casino were bit of a let down — salty and overcooked. Same with the New England clam Chowder– lacked depth and creaminess.

Hey SpongeBob fans! This is the closest thing to «the Krusty Krab» you’ll ever experience(minus the Krabby Patties). The nautical theme will enchant your inner child. Lots of seafood selections but don’t overlook the prime rib here. ¡Delicioso! The soup & salad bar comes with your entrée.
