Great spot for breakfast or lunch after or before a day on the lake. The food is great, people are friendly. Just a really nice little spot.

Everything was delicious. Great setting too. And wonderful view from the seating area. We LOVED this place. Nice little street with another shop nearby.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch after hiking in the area. Our sandwiches were quite good. Don’t know if they make their own bread/rolls but the bread for both our sandwiches made a good meal even better. We ordered sandwiches without mayo. That request is often missed in other places but not here. The service was good, as were the atmosphere and food. As I said, we came in after a hike of a few hours, but we felt comfortable in the atmosphere here. Tables were available inside, but the day was nice enough to enjoy the picnic tables outdoors. I’d recommend this place.

I am a regular in this area and every time get in New Preston for the weekend this is my first stop even before making to my cottage. Baked goods are just divine and their banana bread is their signature not to mention peanut butter cookies! The staff is really friendly and helpful as well as Julie the owner. Great place for take out… I strong recommend this place!

9 bucks for a tuna sandwich on white bread. Barely a half a can of tuna on the sandwich. Every time I go here I say I’ll never go again but unfortunately it’s the only place around.

We stopped in for breakfast on our way back to the city over Memorial Day weekend and it was fantastic! Really really good coffee, good chai tea latte, a FAB breakfast sandwich, and to my everlasting delight, amazing gluten free muffins! They were seriously tasty, and I was so pleasantly surprised to find them there! The sandwiches listed on the menu were unique and sounded delicious, with different combinations of flavors that seemed like they’d all be great, too. I wish I lived closer so I could be a regular, because it was such a cute place, run and operated by super nice people. It also has a nice view, and some outdoor tables that overlook the waterfall across the street. I will definitely return anytime I’m in the area.

The food is really good and fresh love the egg sandwiches … Staff could be friendlier but it was fine. Make sure your clear how you want it because they messed up two days in a row. Will definitely come back here when we are camping at lake Waramaug. Took some coconut macaroons to go which were very yummy. Only gripe is the tables are so sticky !

Cute space, friendly service, beautiful view to the nearby waterfall. We happened to be driving by, needed a bite, and saw it on Unilocal.Cheap, yummy, and generously-sized egg/cheese/sausage sandwich, delicious carrot-cake muffin with cream cheese frosting. Perfect!

We stopped in for some iced coffees and a small lunch while in the area last weekend. Everything about this spot is adorable down to its menu and service was friendly which contributed positively to the experience. We had a few snacks at an organic gardening talk a little while before we arrived so we shared something. You could build your own sandwich or choose from a list of their creations with fun names like the Waramaug, the Shepaug, the Soprano, New Preston Feast. We went with what I believe was one of the specials of the day, brisket on a gyro. Flavor-wise it was pretty good but the meat was dry. We also shared some Deep River Rosemary & Olive Oil potato chips. They have every flavor of Deep River kettle cooked chips you could want. The soups and salads also looked/sounded tasty, and the bakery goods were very tempting. There is no wi-fi here but you won’t need it. Enjoy what your order, walk around and browse the locally made jam selection and pickled vegetables(dilly beans, I’m coming back for you!) and when you’re finished go across the street and check out the waterfall.

Nine Main is a sweet little sandwich shop and bakery with a plum location right near a waterfall in the Aspetuck River. The décor is country cottage, the food has a local, handcrafted feel. I had the turkey sandwich with Havarti and sprouts, and it was quite good. I especially appreciated the pumpkin seeds. Quick service.

Great little place to stop for lunch. Seating is limited but cozy. Specials have really stepped up recently. Yesterday I had an awesome crispy chicken sandwich with asian slaw and siracha mayo on made to order bao buns(like a dumpling bun)… was totally not expecting to see it there and I was SOGLAD I tried it. Chicken was a pan fried cutlet and everything was so fresh/good flavor. If the cooks are reading this, please keep the unique food coming guys!

Nine Main is a great casual place to for coffee and sandwiches(breakfast and lunch sandwiches). A lot of locals go here because the food is plentiful, and you can sit for a while and chat without any hassle. A few tips: 1. There is no wifi — plan accordingly! If I could add one feature to this place, this would be it. 2. The service is not always the quickest… but to me this isn’t a bad thing. It’s not fast food. Usually, I place an order with a cup of coffee, and I can just chat at my table and sip on my coffee while they prepare the food. It doesn’t take that long, but if you’re used to a fast food place then maybe the 10 minutes feels like forever? 3. After your meal, go across the street and take a look at the waterfall — it’s worth it. There are also some small shops to browse through with some really nice items. 4. This place is located very close to Lake Waramaug — a short drive of maybe 2 minutes up the hill? 5. It is always nice and warm in the Winter, and has old school radiators that get really toasty. If you go to local spots during the dead of winter, you understand this is not always common! Overall, you can use it as a local breakfast sandwich and coffee run… or as a lunch stop after which you browse some shops and hang out at the lake. The vibe is laid-back, casual and you’ll see everyone in here from cyclists to local contractors coming for coffee, to friends gathering after dropping off their kids or yoga class — it’s a great mix.

Fresh ingredients, good baked items, decent coffee but stay away from espresso machine beverages.

Sadly, since the business was sold, the food has become pretty bland even though the menu is almost completely the same. What used to be one of the great vegetarian sandwiches with pickled red onion and mushroom has now been reduced to a malaise of virtual vegetables. Someone forgot to put the vinegar and salt in the pickled onion(I know this because I pulled some out of my sandwich and ate it alone). What a shame. By the way other sandwiches are not quit the same either. Someone needs to start tasting the food they are preparing. Service is REALLY slow. If you do take out service, you need to have a dedicated person to fulfill those orders and not make the seated patrons wait and watch the to go’s. This place is a goldmine, but will slowly slip away if some serious attention is not paid right now.

We have only visited for lunch, but have always been very happy with their food and selection. My husband and I used to stop here years ago while riding with motorcycle friends for a trip to Lake Waramaug. Now we stop by to have lunch with our son and enjoy the ambience while eating at the picnic tables. During our most recent visit here we noticed they’ve done some renovations including fresh paint, picnic tables and a wooden bike rack. The inside is also very quaint with tin ceilings, wooden floors and vintage décor. I would guess there’s approximately 7 small tables inside and the deli has an open floor plan(you can see the employees making your food). The bakery case also offers a limited selection of gluten-free goodies. We enjoy returning for lunch because the food is always fresh(which is why they may run out of things by the end of the day), service is consistently friendly and the atmosphere is always clean and neat(including the bathroom). Highly recommended!

For what it does 9 Main is great and you won’t find a better price/quality ratio for a breakfast sandwich(my obsession) anywhere in the area. They are tasty and very reasonably priced. You would have to go ALL the way to the deli on the corner of 109 and 202 in New Milford to get a comparable breakfast deal. And the coffee is decent as well. Have not ordered an espresso there but the machine is legit. Only small downside is that they turn the grill off a bit early for my tastes but you can always order a BLT if what you are really after is the bacon fix(and the tomato cancels out the bacon and makes the whole thing healthy!). Lunch centers largely on sandwiches and the have a variety of good breads. Everything is always fresh. Staff is great — mostly efficient, friendly women. Owner Liz is almost always there paying close attention to the details and it shows. Thank the gods for 9 Main: it saved New Preston from becoming an adorable but silly village by bringing caffeine and sustenance to town. Now it is just adorable. Oh, and if you go you absolutely must visit J. Seitz, with or without money to spend, and check out the view of the falls from inside.
