Dave’s Pit & Pig BBQ

Overpriced garbage! They don’t deserve 1 star! This was THE WORST barbecue I’ve had in many years! The pork was tender but has a bitter burnt creosote taste! The baked beans weren’t really baked beans. they don’t taste anything like baked beans and were awful! The potato salad was the worst I’ve ever had with an overpowering vinegar kick to them. The coleslaw was nasty as well. they charged me $ 27 for 2 pork sandwiches (complete ripoff!) and I asked for only potato salad and baked beans. didn’t ask for coleslaw but they gave it to me anyways. the people working there are incompetent.

My suggestion for Dave is to find his own stand alone building because with BBQ this good the owner of the convenience store may try to steal the idea!
Had the BBQ pork jumbo sandwich and it was fantastic and overflowing like a jumbo should be.
Moving to thus area a year ago we found that good food is few and far between… thus is a great BBQ joint right around the corner…

This place is excellent. I’m from Kentucky. I got a sandwich there and then before I left to go home I bought another 2 lbs to take with me. Great service great food. The sides are excellent as well.

Nice local spot for some good bbq. Inside the gas station on the corner of Little Rd. and Embassy. Friendly people working for a couple that we were fortunate to meet while we ordered our food. I would give it 5 stars but the menu is still limited considering this place just opened recently and they are going to be expanding on their menu as they continue. They have been pretty open to suggestions for additions to the menu sides.
I enjoyed my pork sandwich. The meat was pulled tender and enjoyable every bite. Good portion for the price. I did try their sauces. They have mild & hot. I prefer a hot sauce myself. They even give you a side of pickle spears with your sandwich.
They also have a few choices of sides. Since it’s my first time there I tried 2 sides. Beans and coleslaw. I enjoyed the beans with a bit of a spicy kick to them. I believe they used couple types of beans. Kidney and pork n beans type. Good though. The cole slaw was just ok. Bit stringy and not enough flavor but just ok. Will try more sides next time.
My husband had brisket sandwich and he said it was one of his favorites he’s had.
Overall I had a great experience eating here and can’t wait to try more on the menu and more when they expand the menu. I will be back for more soon.
