Filed on: November 132014 Filed by : Phil Mancari 19332 Emerald CT Mokena IL60448‑3337 Filed against : Servpro Of Frankfort 12621 W Harvey Dr New Lenox IL60451‑3838 Complaint Description: Tim Meske, owner, of ServPro Frankfort, tried price gouging during an area wide flooding and power loss incident on 7÷08÷14. When he was repeatedly asked to provide pricing he refused saying with a smile«It depends what i can get from State Farm»(my insurance carrier). Upon arrival of his people i literally had to aggressively stop Mr Meske from doing 1000s of dollars worth of demolition work such as unnecessarily removing and damaging 100s of linear feet of high end custom brazilian cherry baseboards(to this day show no adverse effects from the MINIMAL water damage that occurred in my basement. Besides that Mr Meske also tried drilling unnecessary holes all over my basement which wouldve done nothing but run up the bill. Upon removing the carpet and pad, WHICHISALL I WANTEDDONE, Mr Meske insisted using HIS fans, even though I have access to MYOWN commercial grade fans. And AGAIN he refused to give me pricing on said fans until 36 hours later and the pricing was a WHOPPING500.00 A DAY! if i was told that from the onset I would’ve NOT agreed to the terms especially because I have access to my own fans– Mr Meske also tried charging me for«Premium time» when it was HIS choice to come when he did– i was not given an option or a chance to approve pricing-. In fact his people(which are basically high school kids) actually UNPLUGGEDMYFAN just to plug in their identical one. Besides all this my chest freezer was also uplugged(to plug in their fan) ruining all the contents inside. i am also contacting Illinois Attorney General’s Consumer Fraud Division — Mr Meske is giving Serv Pro a bad name with these price gouging tactics. I understand some of the services offered are necessary in majorly flooded areas but for the MINIMAL amount of ruined carpet and pad Mr Meske was surely trying, by his own admission, to get as much as my insurance money as possible– Especially after calling a neighboring Serv pro who gave me pricing OVERTHEPHONE unlike Mr Meske Your Desired Resolution: I deducted the price for inflated services that Mr Meske tried charging me for. Also for the 700 worth of food in my chest freezer for which i have receipts from my butcher This case will be reviewed by a complaint specialist at the Better Business Bureau, and then forwarded to the business for their response.
