This place is not that big but the selection of trees & flowers are pretty good. The staff here is pretty knowledgeable & polite. If you live nearby, this place is definitely worth stopping by.

Waiting for a compulsivly late associate I took a look around the surrounding area of midtown New Hyde Park Rd, Melinas grabbed my attention and I proceeded to enter the grounds.
Winding walkways are said to be therapeutic, add in the landscaping of flowers and shrubs of all shapes and sizes I walked amongst, their beauty and aromas had two senses totally hypnotized, body and mind in total peace.
Once inside, I investigated the seeds and walked the clean, well stocked aisles grabbing a few small needs along the way. Gloves, seeds, fencing, planters were of great quality and upon the register it went.
The quality of the long gardening tools were superb, real wood contoured to ones grip, hand tools were equally constructed and priced quite well.
The Italian being spoken really put the cherry on top to a truely magnificent garden center experience.

Cute garden stuff. My family has picked up our christmas trees here the past few years and we’ve always been happy. We love the firs that give off a great smell in our house.

Great customer service! We got here after closing on Sunday (they’d been closed for more than an hour) but a man told us to come in anyway and was very nice about it. We got mulch, flowers, a tomato plant, and soil for a fair price. We will definitely come back.
