Gino’s Trattoria and Pizzeria of New Hyde Park

I was looking for a restaurant close to home for our wedding rehearsal dinner and my family and I happen to drive by Gino’s on our way to another restaurant. We decided to have dinner here the following week (yesterday) and I’m so glad we did. The food is amazing. They bring out warm, fresh bread sticks. We had to ask for seconds! We also ordered the calamari as an appetizer– not too batter-​y or oily. It was really good. For the main course, I had a penne a la vodka with grilled chicken– pasta was al dente just perfect and the vodka sauce was delicious. My dad got the Italian Tuna hero and they accommodated him by cutting it into 4 pieces as he requested. My mom loves fra diavolo sauce and ordered the Linguine Mare Bello. My brother got the Classic Italian platter that had sausage and peppers. Everything was perfect. We checked out the private dining area and do plan on having our rehearsal dinner here. There is a separate entrance and bathroom for our guests, which is a plus. Thank you Gino’s!

Very unorganized place… no smile when walking in. staff did not look happy… pizza was OK…

A friend recommended Gino’s for my son and future daughter in-law’s wedding rehearsal dinner. We dropped in to try the food and were not disappointed. It was delicious! We later met with Andrea to plan our event. She worked with us to create a specialized menu within our budget. We held our event last night in a beautiful private dining room. The restaurant, including restrooms, was immaculate. The service was top notch. The food was delicious. Everyone went home happy and with a full belly. Thank you Andrea for helping us to have a very special evening that will be remembered for a long time. If you are looking for a place to hold an event, or even to get a delicious plate of pasta, Gino’s is the place to go. Five stars are not enough. I give it ten stars!
