Monday 6:30PM dinner Service quality — one star Food quality — One star Pricing — have a star Waiter could not understand his own menu, Hot and sour soup very poor, failed to bring rice which is a staple in this restaurant, little to no concern when addressing the quality, waiter had no idea what Diet Coke is

Easily the best Chinese place in the area. Surprisingly authentic food, great prices, and friendly service. The lunch menu is limited in choice, but everything costs between $ 5.25 and $ 5.75 and comes with a soup and a side of white or pork fried rice. The fried rice is very tasty, a little subtler and less oily than what you usually get at these prices. The Hot and Sour Soup has a goopy, corn-starch-heavy texture that I usually don’t care for, but it’s so flavorful that I find myself not minding. It lives up to the name, and is truly spicy(and sour), but it’s also balanced and complex, with bits of mushroom, tofu and pork. My favorite lunch entrees are Pork with Black Bean Sauce(with actual fermented black beans, not purée from a can), and the Hong Sho Tofu. The latter is just a pile of fried tofu with some scallions on top, so it doesn’t look that interesting at first, but the sauce is, without exaggeration, one of the tastiest things I’ve ever put in my mouth: dark, rich, a little garlicky, a little salty, a little spicy. Another favorite is the Double Sautéed Pork, which is not on the lunch menu, but which they’ll make for you at lunchtime and at lunch prices. That’s the sort of place this is. On the dinner menu, be sure to check out the«Classics» section for more authentic fare. The Singapore Noodles and Ma Po Tofu are particularly good. The dinner portions are larger(you’ll certainly have leftovers) and only cost about $ 10. Service is great. A husband and wife team run the takeout counter and are always smiling. The table waiters tend not to speak English well, but they’ll make you feel comfortable, and they get the orders right. Tea is always free, hot and plentiful. The décor is nicer than what you’d expect from a low-cost strip-mall joint. You won’t impress a first date here, but it’s a cozy atmosphere for a friendly dinner. It’s not a big space, so I wouldn’t recommend trying to do more than a group of 4.

My go-to spot in New Hope for Chinese food. Mr. Sunny is so nice and always comments about how much food I order and how hungry I must be. Some might find it offensive, but I find it endearing.

By far the best Chinese restaurant I have ever been to. I have never had an experience close to any of these one star people and I’ve been eating there for over 20 years. You can tell the quality of the meats and ingredients is head, shoulders, knees and toes above the average Chinese joint. My favorite dishes are the general tso’s and the chicken and broccoli. You can ask any local w/taste buds, if you are looking for Chinese in the area you aren’t going to find anything even close to as good as Hong Kong Sunny’s!

Ew. Can I give less than one star? It’s very hard to screw up the classic General Tso’s chicken but this place accomplished that. It tasted like old barbeque chicken that sat out all day. The vegetable lo mein was cold and bland. We ordered a «large» Shrimp and broccoli and there were like 7 shrimp. Can’t imagine what the small is. The sweet and sour chicken is pretty much just fried batter with no chicken. Just don’t.

Ordered take out for the family, when we got home realized that more than half the food we had paid for was missing. We returned immediately, while they did correct the mistake, it took over half an hour and they did not retire the whole order so the food that we had received sat in a bag dying the whole time. Turn out that none of this really mattered anyway because even the food that was freshly cooked was terrible. Mind you, I use the word fresh loosely as everything we ordered tasted of freezer burn. The food almost indelible, the potions were small and overpriced, the staff was incompetent.

Once found a wad of hair, like someone had given a haircut next to the chef, in my fried rice. Never again.

This place is cheap, fast, and the food is consistently good. The service is always excellent. No ambiance, so we always do carryout.

Sizes small for $ 20 First time and last time going… Ordered Shrimp Fried Rice and Got … Fried rice with 1 shrimp in that was the size of a childs pinkie nail… ? I don’t know what the heck that was that I ordered but I asked for sesame chicken and got this disgusting gristly, greasy, oiled bread crumbs with I think(Or hope) they were chicken shreads(verses medalions) in it… Never going back again and I live 2 miles away from that place

Nice little place I visited to eat while passing by. Service was excellent and food was also great for a good price. Staff was friendly and ambiance is very comfortable as well. I will definitely come back when I pass by this area. somewhat authentic chinese food but best in the neighborhood.

The food here is very good and somewhat authentic, which was surprising. The staff is friendly and the prices are very reasonable. Best chinese food in the New Hope area.

Just okay. Too bad Unilocal doesn’t have half-stars, this is one situation that requires it. Ambiance is acceptable, but really more for lunch than a fine dinner. Restrooms are usually clean, but very basic. Wasn’t clean on 2 occasions. Food quality is average to just okay. Glad to have it, but wouldn’t go out of my way for it. Fried rice is lacking something… it is consistently lacking in flavor. It just seems to be missing something. Boneless ribs are covered with an extra portion of a very sweet sauce, unlike just about any other Chinese place. The eggplant appetizers were very good, and something not usually found in average Chinese joints around here. Portions of good size. Service I get here for table service is efficient yet cold and lifeless, with about as much charm and warmth as a robot. One gets the impression that he or she is not wanted there or that the server dislikes being there. The take-out people(I assume they are the owners) are always perky and friendly, with a desire to please. Cleanliness: The dining room is fine. I have in the past seen a questionable procedure in the kitchen when waiting for a take-out order. One worker was preparing chicken from the largest pile of chicken I have ever seen. A pile of chicken that size for one worker would surely be at room temperature for a very long time. I question if that is proper food safety. All in all, I am glad to have HK Sunny to go to, it sure beats the competition in town.

As a local I have been comming here for years. Their General Tso’s is one of the best I had. You can tell they use fresh ingredents here. Staff is very helpful for instance if you want certain vegtables substitued its never a problem. Pork fried dumplings are delicous. Hands down best chinese food in the New Hope/Solebury area. Quick tip the prices for their lunch specials are great.

not great. ordered the wonton soup and sesame beef,(apparently, a «house special»). my soup had one measly wonton in it and the beef was waaaaay overcooked, almost unchewable. boyf got the general tsos chicken, which was better(meaning we could actually bite into it, no problem) but, still, nothing special. service was good, and i really liked the ambiance. alas, our hunt for good local chinese continues…
