I’m a new resident of New Haven, and as such, I was looking for a great place to network and work from while on the job search. I discovered The Bourse Coworking Loft through a lucky e-mail, and have since spent quite a few hours toiling away to great success. Robert and Carol Orr, the owners of the space, are friendly and welcoming to all interested people, and I highly recommend checking their carefully crafted area out. A membership to The Bourse is cheaper than the nearby Grove, and I also feel The Bourse has a bit more genuine character and personality. It presents a warm, welcoming workspace in which one might think he or she is home, only without the distractions. It’s easy to get to work, and it’s also easy to meet new, very smart people here. And it will only improve as more people discover the space and join up. Robert and Carol are even willing to give you a free trial of the space, and like me, you’ll probably want to stay longer. It’s also right next to Elm City Market, a food co-op, which has tasty things for lunch and is a great place to shop. There’s also a shiny new parking garage at 360 State St., just a block away, which is also one of the cheapest in New Haven. Lots of places are also walkable from The Bourse, such as multiple Starbucks(or you can use the small kitchen area here), Chapel Street shopping and dining, and other local businesses. There’s even a pilates studio in the same building, so you can do that too! So, check out The Bourse for the awesome space, or for the events, or for the people!
