We paid for the twice a week pick up and the company has not shown up yet for the second day per week. We call and they insist that the drive is picking up on the second day. This has been going on for about four months now. I am going to order a dumpster for the backed up moving boxes, etc that we have built up over the last four months. Then I will file a claim in Chester County small claims court to recover the money from them.

In June I switched from Waste Management to Republic Waste Service because Republic saved me over $ 80 a year. I called Waste Management to tell them I was no longer using them effective the end of June. It took 3 weeks and a few phone calls to get them to pick up their containers. They charged $ 82 to my credit card for service July thru Sept. I have called them 4 or 5 times about refunding my $ 82. They kept saying that it takes 8 to 10 weeks to get a refund. I can’t understand how it can take so long but I waited. 2 phone calls ago I was told I’d have the money within 2 weeks. 2 weeks later I called and they said the check was in the mail. That was 5 days ago. It doesn’t take 5 days for a check to arrive no matter where in the US it was mailed from. Do not use Waste Management.

Absolutely no problem with pick up or service. They were always there when they said they would be there. They even went and got my cans when I would forget to bring them down the driveway! There were 2 problems I had with WM. The first is their fees. They charge you a set up fee of $ 37(ish). Other waste removal companies do not have set up fees. I also paid approximately $ 123 quarterly for residential service. After shopping around, I found a company that charged half of this. When I called to cancel my service they informed me that they do price match in my area… The second issue I have with WM is the ridiculously long wait times when you call them. No lie, expect to be on hold for at least 20 minutes! I called on a Monday and the lady told me if I didn’t want to wait, that I should call back on Friday… Took me a half an hour to cancel my service by phone.
