It was a nice 3 night stay. Friendly and courteous staff, clean hotel and nice rooms. Takeaways they charged my card for the hotel stay after I already paid through Expedia. Very happy I could afford the hold on my card otherwise I would have been irate. The continental breakfast could be hotter and more selections.

One of things about Unilocal reviews that bother me is people will give something a low rating because its not high class. The Fairfield isn’t the W Hotel and it isn’t the Manchurian Oriental but for what it is its great. There wasn’t any hotels available for my last minute trip to Wilmington so I begrudgingly booked at the Fairfield since my company, Barclays, has this hotel as a preferred site. First off be prepared Wilmington is a very very bad area and parts of New Castle are as well. This hotel is located in a quiet area away from the craziness and is centrally located to 95/495/13/Business 13 so you can get anywhere pretty quickly. In order to get to Wilmington you will probably fly into Philly and its a short 45 minute hop in traffic. The staff here is amazing. Everyone here is so nice and friendly. I went downstairs to get some snacks and chit chatted with the two ladies in lobby for about 20 minutes and they were just genuinely nice gals. The rooms were spotless and bed bug free(my last Marriott stay was full of bed bugs in Midland, Odessa, TX) so that made me very happy. There is a mini fridge and microwave, 2 flat screen TV’s(one of mine was super dim though), stand up shower(no tub), a small living room and of course a sleeping space. The rooms are updated and comfortable, the beds are comfy, and the couches are comfy. The only real issue I had is the air freshener they used wasn’t my favorite but an easy problem a candle can solve. There is a pool and a small workout room with free weights and treadmills, perfect for getting some physical activities in after sitting in meetings for 10 hours. The continental breakfast was actually very fulfilling. I would say 75% of the clients here are business clients so you’ll most likely see the lobby full of people in business casual dress grabbing breakfast and chit chatting. They offered eggs, muffins, bagels, coffee, juices, yogurts, and cereals which is honestly all you really need before heading out. There is a small convenience area with TV dinners, candy bars, and snacks which are great for a late night snack. I did have issues with the AC though. I set the AC at 76 and it ran constantly so I played the turn it up turn it down all night but honestly almost every hotel is like that. Ill be traveling regularly to Wilmington as I have taken over a new group for my company here and I will most likely stay here again barring any disaster before I check out tomorrow. Again I stress before you go site seeing or walking around make sure you know where you are and its day light. Wilmington is a very dangerous city. Thank you everyone for making my travels comfortable.

Fairfield Inn & Suites at 2117 N. Dupont Hwy.NewCastle, DE ! What a wonderful Marriott property ! Photos, Tons of them included. Like all Marriott properties, Fairfields offer unique décor that is our FAVORITE of Marriot brand decors; mid century modern.(lobby photos before we check out !) Deep blue hues, mixed with oranges, textural fabrics on walls &bedding. This Fairfield has a huge indoor pool and jacuzzi, AND, ANOUTDOORSUNAREA ! DIRECTTV, with so many more channels: All the Cinemaxex, HBOs, Bravo, Mtv, TCM ! IT feels as though whomever designed this property knew it was on a busy, oft congested hwy, and intended for it to be ANOASIS !
