I have been going to supercuts on Albany Street since 2 years. Nik is the best, she understands what look is needed and delivers.

DO. NOT. GO. HERE. It is the cheapest place to get a haircut around here for men but there’s a reason for that. Of all the times I’ve been here(around 5), for the sake of convenience might I add, they have all disappointed me. Whether it be their speedy, hectic haircuts, the staffs lack of enthusiasm, or unhygienic method of brushing off a customer’s hair remains, supercuts will almost always leave you feel rushed, unwilling to come back, and itchy. The staff spends on average 7−10minutes on cutting each individual’s hair, nearly half the regular time any detail oriented barber would. The lackluster experience from the staff will leave you feeling hallow and not wanting to come back. Today, however, I made the horrible decision of giving supercuts another and ultimately final shot. They placed me with a woman whom they didn’t even bother to tell me was her first day on the job. I ask for my regular 1 – 1.5 trim and she ends up cutting off a chunk of my head. When she asked me how everything looked I pointed out the spot and she acted as if she had no idea. I had to call the manager over and she ended up cutting my hair for what I thought she promised of $ 0 dollars, but was actually $ 7, half-off of what their haircuts are usually. I didn’t argue because she did fix the mistake; I’m just angry she(the manager) paid extra attention to me AFTER they messed up, they should ALWAYS put in their best effort for every haircut they give or else all their customers will be walking away with chopped up heads and an itchy back. Anyway, if you are ever trying to decide between supercuts and another barber shop/hair salon, choose the latter, you most likely won’t be disappointed. By the way, Nik, I hope you read this because you just lost a lot valuable customers. If you had just given me that haircut for free I might not have written this review.

Michelle cut my hair today. She is a really knowledgable hairdresser who was happy to talk to me about what style to come in and get. She explained the logic of what she was doing throughout the entire process, and was sympathetic to my busy lifestyle and helped me find a look that doesn’t demand too much maintenance yet complements my style. I found her accessibility truly refreshing, and will go back in to ask for her again in the future!

I normally have a decent experience here with one of the hairdressers. Unfortunately, she was not there today and I made the mistake of getting my haircut anyway. I had asked for a specific number around the sides and back, and to «thin out the top.» Little did I know, this translated into«shave my hair to some awkward length.» Well, she did exactly as she interpreted then because I lost a few months’ worth of diligence due to someone being heavy-handed with the scissors. Before I knew it, my hair was chopped off like some B-restaurant line cook that had just mishandled food. There was no rescuing it either, I might as well have been the Titanic after hitting the iceberg at that point. I may recommend the other hairdresser but definitely not D. Thanks for nothing!
