As CT’s first treetop adventure course, Go Ape is 2 – 3 hours of outdoor fun and exercise! More and more families are«learning the ropes» at aerial adventure parks across CT. Go Ape’s 1-year old course features five zip lines, two Tarzan swings,(a series of rope ladders, bridges, spider webs and trapezes), and 42 obstacles situated 40 feet up in the forest canopy. Go Ape is the only zipline in the state located in a public park. All of the obstacles, go from tree to tree. And I’d say the most challenging and fun obstacle is the last Tarzan swing. It’s a bit of a free fall. You step off a platform and swing 20 – 25 feet into a big net just like Tarzan! Then it traverses over a moss-covered pond, it’s actually the longest zipline in CT! Connected to the AW Stanley Park, Go Ape can accommodate upwards of 65 people at any one time. FYI — Admission is $ 57 for ages 16 and older and $ 37 for ages 10 to 15, though discounts are offered. — 7 days a week from 10am-3pm

Booked Go Ape for myself and my boyfriend. We are both pretty athletic people but didn’t know what to expect when we signed up for Go Ape in New Britain. We went on a gorgeous Sunday morning, 10AM appointment and we were the only two people on the course. Our instructors were very helpful and answered all our questions during the initial training that covered how to clip on and off each station. The training took you through the first 2 challenges and 3 – 5 you are on your own. Zipping above the water multiple times was the best thing about this course! You can’t zip 500 + feet across water anywhere~~ The courses were on a moderate to difficult scale but you could zip across if you ever got tired. Bring gloves because your hands will need to grip on to things all through out and there is water at the beginning of each course. Had a great time!

I love this place! As soon as you arrive you’re greeted by friendly and helpful staff that train/walk through everything with you. The course is amazing and great for all ages. Multiple zip lines that go over lower pond. Tarzan swings and tons of climbing. Definitely coming back again!

Came here with our Meet Up group of 20−30somethings and we had a BLAST! We went through a brief safety training course and sent us on our way. The staff was super friendly, helpful(especially Andy… and Kevin). There were staff members along the way at different courses there to help and encourage, but they didn’t hold our hands which was nice. We went in early November so it was a little chilly and windy, but it was nice since we worked up a little sweat climbing and going thru the obstacles. We will absolutely be going back next year! Thanks for the great afternoon Go Ape staff!!!

This was unlike any other aerial adventure park I’ve gone to, and I was a little worried at first, but ended up loving it! Every other one I’ve been to(at least 3 others) have one large platform you start at where you can choose which course you want to go on, but this was different! Usually there are yellow, green, blue and black(most difficult) courses, but here there is just one starting point and one ending point, so you experience all courses along the way, without having that daunting black course that your kids will leave you to go on when you’re too scared. At least that’s been my experience, so I loved that I actually got to complete the entire course with my son, without him rushing through and leaving me to go on another course, because this one just isn’t designed that way. Other courses usually sell you a 2 hour block, so you can go on as many courses as fit in your time allotted, but here you go through the entire course as one begins where the last course ended, so there is no worry of not getting to try all of them before running out of time. Really enjoyed it and will go back! Oh, make sure you’re not even a little hungry before you start because after about an hour you end up in the trees over the grills in the park which can drive you crazy if you’re ready to eat!

We arrived about 10 minutes late for our 11am appointment, and they were very accommodating to get us into an unscheduled 11:30 appointment slot. After a very thorough training program where both the adults in our group and the young ones(youngest age 10) felt very comfortable with the learning, we began the course. We did all five courses, each one a little higher in the treetops. For a Saturday morning, it was not crowded at all and we were very comfortable going at our own pace. The very long zip line runs across the water were the most fun. The equipment was in great working order, we were fitted properly and comfortably in our harnesses, and the staff was very supportive and friendly. Our guide, Javier, was extremely enthusiastic, engaging and you could tell he loved doing his job. We had an excellent experience and I would strongly recommend this for adults, and kids accompanied by adults.

My girlfriend and I booked this on a whim for a fun day off activity. We were both sweaty, dirty and grinning from ear to ear after, it was fantastic! I’m very afraid of heights but once strapped in and secured with my safety lines I felt no fear(except during the tarzan swing, but it only lasted a second until i jumped, peed myself, then hit the net). It’s very pretty too. Moving at a brisk pace, we made it through in less than two hours, but you can take as much time as you need. I highly recommend this place(especially for an adventurous date)!
