Terrific Massage & Wellness Spa

Bought a Groupon from this place on a whim & was a bit skeptical. I always feel like places that use Groupon are very lackluster. But there was NOTHING lackluster about my massage today. Amazing experience! Amazing massage, which I am typically very picky about.
April was very open about the types of massages they offered & let me upgrade my Groupon to get a more intense massage. I could tell she wasn’t trying to just get my money, she was listening to my trouble areas & being open about my options. I upgraded from the Swedish to the Therapeutic Massage because I know my back needed some work (I sit at a desk all day & do not have the best posture). I could literally feel her manipulating my muscles & really working to get the knots out. She worked tirelessly on my back & I felt amazing afterwards. There was some soreness but I expected it after she worked all that lactic acid out of my muscles.
If you enjoy massages you will LOVE this place. If you’re not interested in a little pain during your massage, go for the Swedish, it’s ALL relaxation. If you have trouble areas start with the Therapeutic & if that’s not enough go all the way for Deep Tissue.
Hands down, I will be back in NB to get a massage very soon!

If you are into forearm and boney elbow massages, this is the place for you! Literally the worst massage I’ve ever had.
I went in for a therapuetic massage and was met with a locked door at my scheduled time. I called and got an answering machine. I should have taken it as a sign and left. Foolishly, I waited for ten minutes in 90 degree heat until someone noticed me standing out front.
I was very tight in my neck and shoulders and in pain. For $ 70 I was expecting a professional massage. In my experience the old forearm-​and-​elbow massage is generally what I think of as a low-​end, lazy massage worth about $ 30-​$ 40. This therapist took laziness a step further and sat down on a wheeled stool for the ENTIRE massage. The floor is tiled and the wheels scraped every time she shifted or moved. The best part was when she «wheeled» herself noisily across the room to get more lotion, as needed. The noise of these movements made it impossible to relax.
In fact, I left more tense and irritated than when I arrived. The icing on the cake was at the end when the therapist told me that I was not cooperating and that I was refusing to let go of my tension.
I wish I would have the guts to get up and walk out after five minutes. I wish I wasn’t passive aggressive and that I could do something besides write an anonymous nasty-​gram. I wish I had my $ 70 back because I’m in a tremendous amount of pain by now and can’t afford another massage.

Terrific is not an adequate word to describe April’s massage. Amazing awesome trip to a place is pure bliss.

I made an appointment Friday afternoon around 3:30 online for 10:15 AM with April on the Saturday of Valentine’s Day. On my way there, within only a few blocks, I received a call at 10:06 AM letting me know that I shouldn’t have booked online because they were already full. There was no way they could get me in at any other time during the day. I will NEVER visit your establishment again, and I would recommend that no one book an appointment online either.

They always do a great job at Terrific Massage. Having sporadically tried spas in the past, I never felt the urge to return, but here I am now a monthly customer. Much of that has to do with the customer service which is outstanding from the front desk on. They’re on top of appointment reminders too, which is very helpful for me! April is a top notch therapist, and without hesitancy I would recommend her services.

I have had many massages but the one I had here was the absolute best I have ever received! I got a 90min Swedish massage and I had it with Carlos. Usually I am not a fan of men doing my massages but he was amazing. I did not once feel uncomfortable and he was great with adjusting pressure to how I preferred. He did a mean deep tissue on my legs and I will certainly be back! The staff is friendly, the spa clean and the price is spot on.

I was thrilled when an affordable and convenient spa opened near Gruene. April and the Terrific Massage staff are always friendly and professional. They have a wide range of massage therapists that can fit any need, as well as full facial treatments. I am now a regular and look forward to my monthly service. Scheduling note: They book quickly, call two weeks out to book your appointment.
