Food was ok, not an expensive steakhouse carries quality of steaks and food you may find at a Friday’s or Applebees. Edible but Nothing worth getting excited over. The staff were friendly, the waitress seemed scatter brained but it was New Year’s Eve and a couple of hours away from closing.

Not impressed at all. I had the prime rib and it was dry and tasteless. My wife ordered her sirloin med rare and it was very over cooked.

Good food, good service, and they were very accommodating when we had a bunch of people unexpectedly join us. They even gave us two free desserts when they accidentally messed up an order. I would definitely eat here again when I come back in town!

Went here with family for the 4th of July and was pleasantly surprised. The décor and atmosphere was as to be expected for a mid level steak house. Their service is friendly and helpful, if a little slow. But where they excel is their food. The catfish was delicious, well seasoned and the filets were a good size when some places of the same caliber tend to skimp on the cuts. Their shrimp was not too tough and had a nice kick. But more so than their main courses their sides are fantastic! All with a hint of that good southern home cooking. Their rolls had a nice sweetness to them that didn’t taste sugary, their okra and sweet potatoes steal the show. Their mac and cheese was okay, but nothing to write home about. Overall I enjoyed the meal and will be willing to stop by again when I’m in the area and craving a midlevel steakhouse. Definitely better than Outback or(shudder) Applebees.

Cheese fries were really good, shrimp and chicken pasta was decent and the margaritas were very good. The service was quick and efficient. Would definitely come again.

Wonderful food, great atmosphere! Fantastic weight staff! Management jumps in and helps wherever needed when it’s busy so the customer’s needs don’t get missed while busy! Food came out quick, everything we ordered was cooked to order…

We go here all the time, if something is wrong which happens occasionally no matter where you go there quick to fix it. The manager has great customer service. We have some favorites among the waitstaff.(Christy but if she’s not there munchkin is pretty cool too)

Pretty good and a lot of food that I didn’t finish. Got the ribeye with shrimp and baked potato. It was great! They give you the softest and tastiest rolls to start! Yum!

This restaurant is one of my favorites in New Braunfels. It’s a down home kinda place, not too fancy. Kinda like going to my Uncles house. I’ve tried a variety of menu items, most of my experiences have been favorable, there were two occasions I was not impressed. Fresh dinner rolls are delish, the cinnamon flavored butter = yum! The staff is very friendly, the manager seems to be a good guy, and one waiter I’ve had a couple of times is pretty Awesome! If you’re in the area and need a bite to eat, I’d recommend stopping in.

My fiancé and I just left and it had to be one of the worst experience’s I’ve ever had at a restaurant. They messed up her order not once but 2 times and by that point my food was cold. I spent a total of $ 51 for 5 pieces of shrimp, 2 rolls and a small portion of bacon cheese fries. I will NOT be going back

I am being generous with a one rating. We were seated immediately and after watiting close to 8 minutes, I went and found a waitress. We each ordered a salad and baked potato. We were told they were out of potatoes, it was 5:45 and it’s a steak house. The waitress explained they didn’t «prep» enough potatoes but they would be ready in an hour. The waitress offered mashed potatoes with all the«fixins» so that it tasted like a baked potato — my husband took the bait. We received a plate with two huge scoops of mashed potatoes with cheese, etc. The potatoes were beyond cold — it’s as if someone, literally took the food out of the fridgerator. When we asked the waitress to take the potatoes off our bill, she asked if we wanted to take them home — uh, no but thanks. Neither one of us finished our salads — we could have eaten better at McDonalds. Will not be returning.

Have lived in NB now for 2.5 years, finally got around to trying this steakhouse located very near Business 35 and Loop 337. As you would guess from the name, it’s kinda sorta log-cabin-ish and has a bunch of mountain man kitsch on the walls. The concept is a bit dated, okay, but if the food is good who cares? Since I was alone, I sat at the bar(three televisions, all on sports!) and chatted up the bartender, a friendly and helpful guy named Zach. Zach provided me friendly and attentive service which deserves an «A» and the healthy tip he got from me. Zach steered me towards the ancho-pepper crusted T-bone steak. It was plenty big and high on flavor as a T-bone should be. The steak could have been a bit better trimmed, as I carved off plenty of fat before eating. Also, I ordered it medium rare, and it came back on the rare side of medium rare — ok for me because I can handle a rare steak, but I think whoever was on the grill tonight doesn’t quite understand his doneness.(He couldn’t blame it on a big crowd, because there wasn’t one. The grill couldn’t have been all that full of meat.) But even after trimming off some fat, there was plenty of steak to enjoy. The ribeye side of the T-bone was great, which led me to ask Zach if they would ancho-pepper crust a ribeye for me next time. He said«sure». Side order of sautéed mushrooms were okay, as were the pedestrian caesar salad. The gratis rolls were nice and hot and yeasty. Yumm on the rolls. Overall it was okay, and the steak deserved a B(it’s hugeness somewhat overcoming some of the deficiencies), and the ancho-crust gave it some zip without it being too salty, which is what I hate about some steakhouses. I struggled with whether to give this 2 or 3 stars … but I gave it 2 because the tagline«meh, I’ve experienced better» certainly applies. However, there was nothing wrong with the place so long as you are not confusing the steaks with Myron’s, or Pappas in Houston. It’s definitely a step-up from Sizzler, and for the price, which was reasonable, I will come back when I am hungry and feel like dropping $ 20 for a big steak rather than $ 50.

Burgers were delicious and so big. Fries too. I did order medium rare and it was more closer to medium/medium well. But still delish. I find a lot of places don’t bother with medium rare burgers even when you ask. Service was good our waitress was bartender too but she did fine and was friendly. Some waitresses were distracting because they were gabbing and talking loud with each other and not being super professional but otherwise great visit. Will be back.

I really enjoyed my filet-mignon. I will say, though, that the side dishes need some work. I thought the mac-n-cheese had a strange taste, and the cinnamon apples were too thick and gooey. The service was great, and I also liked the décor.

Large portion of meat. The steak was way over cooked. Everyone ran out of drinks several times. Server complained about the kitchen and blamed them for our lack of service. I tried the red chilli. Excellent choice it has good flavor and light heat. I had coffee also when filled tasted great. I ordered the Montana steak. I ordered medium well but it came out cooked like a charcoal Briquette. Seemed seasoned and tasted good under the char. My wife got the pork chop dinner and it was divine. I sampled hers and wished I had ordered one too. Waiter has no knowledge of beers or drinks better drink at the bar. Overall if you could serve yourself this place would be good.

We had a large group at Montana Mike’s for lunch and picked it because our uncle was really hungry for steak. I’m from the Midwest so I have to be honest and say that this is not what I consider a steak house. The food here reminded me of an Applebee’s and while not bad, wasn’t what I consider to be specialty or steak. Several people at our table ordered steak with mixed verbal reviews but I ordered a buffalo chicken salad. The buffalo bites on top weren’t bad but the lettuce, while called«romaine» or «greens» in the menu was definitely iceberg mix. Overall it was OK but not what I expected for the price and name.

The food here is pretty good but the service is very inconsistent. It’s often poor. I prefer to order Togo that way I don’t have to be disappointed.

Disappointed with our experience: 1) service was slow; 2) pretzel sliders were too salty; and 3) HAIR in the steak!

My wife and I have gone here twice with our kids and had a very pleasant experience both times. Food is good service is great. The first time my wife had the chicken fried chicken and enjoyed it this time we both had the steak and again more excellent eating. Will be going back on our next cheat day.
