This was one of the lower quality Marriott’s we’ve ever stayed in. Our booking was for a 3-night stay, while we visited relatives. The experience got off to a rough start. They tried to increase the price of the room $ 30 a night upon check-in. When I threatened to cancel, they honored the rate. The room layout was not what was pictured on the Marriott website(which I booked using my Marriott rewards account). The room was pretty dinghy and just didn’t look up to the quality of our previous Marriott stays. The room had several minor issues(lighting fixtures with exposed wiring, toilet paper dispensers coming out of the wall). Housekeeping was also less than stellar. In 3 days, the linens on the pull out sofa were never changed(Even though we left them bunched up on the couch each day). Trash containers were not emptied on some days, and they never put a trash bag in the waste baskets(on any of the days). The bathroom cleaning job was also less than desirable. Normally, I would have pointed these things out to management, but we only slept in the hotel for about 6 or 7 hours each night. Next time we visit relatives in the area, we will book the Marriott in downtown New Bern and skip this particular one.

Walked in at 11:30 am thinking no way they’ll let us check in but as usual, I is wrong. So far so good, nice clean lobby, plenty of comfy places to hang including at breakfast and the rooms are truly nice. They have a nice gym and pool/patio area.
