Dr. Olson is a practitioner of the Gonstead Technique, an adjustment method that focuses on the basic mechanics of the spine. He treats a lot of fishermen at his New Bedford office. Though he is not my regular doctor, I was referred to him by my own Gonstead practitioner in Austin, Texas while on vacation on Nantucket, having severe lower-back pain at the time. I flew over to New Bedford, and Dr. Olson was kind enough to pick me up at the airport in his antique car, drive me to the office, give me an adjustment based on the instructions of my doctor from Austin, and bring me back to the airport. He gave me an adjustment as good as I would have gotten at home, and afterwards I was pain-free and able to enjoy the rest of my vacation. There’s a certain artistry to spinal adjustment, and Dr. Olson is one of the best.
