we needed carpeting installed in the ‘damp’ basement over loose cement. we went to various companies as far away from our home in newton to quincy. BUT… there they were, ‘kennedy carpet’, on needham st. just over the newton border. I called ‘karen’ who so early in the am has the greastest sense of humor, they came out right away, measured, gave us a price [half of what others were quoting] and suggested a ‘moisture control’ undercarpeting. two guys came, ben & ben, and it was fascinating to see the ugliest basement floor turn into a ‘real room’,. I should mention that dave leone had already installed ceramic tile under the w&d and a new drop ceiling, so the way they incorporated the carpet to meet the tile was just perfect and did that ever brighten up the room and show off the knotty pine walls and new ceiling. then they left. no need to call back & say ‘hey, you didn’t…’ as we do with most of the workers we had in the past. call ‘kennedy carpet’, talk to Karen. be so pleased you won’t want to put anything in the room!
