They came back over and glued a strip of rug over the bare area and hammered down the exposed nails so that they were not pointy anymore. They were apologetic and insisted they would come back to make things right as long as it took. The guys in the shop obviously cared alot about fixing the problems left by the installers.

I was thrilled at first to find this place since they agreed to trim down a flat woven rug for me. However, after dropping it off with very specific instructions and chalk markings right on the rug, they did not cut it down but simply rebound it at full-​size. I measured it to be sure and it was still at the exact size it was when I purchased it. I had to bring it back and asked for them to redo it. I had asked them to center the pattern and trim off the 2 short ends. Instead of doing that, they lopped off one and and rebound it. The center of the design on the original rug was off as I had feared. They did not call to let me know they were doing this nor did they save the large piece that was cut off which could’ve been reused. I have no experience with them purchasing carpeting but for this, I would certainly not use them again!

This place is a find. My husband and I were looking for a stair runner that was NOT an old fashioned oriental style. The Carpet Workroom had so many attractive choices, (ranging mostly from transitional to contemporary) that it took us several days to decide. Brothers Billy and Matt were helpful in advising us which material would hold up best to our two cats and then helped us to pick out a coordinating trim. We ended up choosing a modern wool design and it looks just perfect. They were able to install it a day earlier than planned and were finished in about one and a half hours. There was extra carpet left over and without our even asking, Billy offered to turn it into a hall runner for us. Cannot recommend this store enough!

I received a call from the owner apologizing for my experience. He refunded my money and offered to send a crew out to fix the rug. I appreciate the gesture and recognize, sometimes things go wrong. The fact that they were willing to take the time to address my concerns and do what they could is reassuring. For that reason, I have amended my rating.

I just called and spoke to Matthew two minutes ago and told him our carpet situation and asked if he could help… Their posting on this page states: quote «The Carpet Workroom & Reclamation Center is the alternative to the traditional carpet and rug store. We offer carpet sales, carpet installation, carpet removal, carpet recycling, carpet repair, and carpet cleaning“end quote.
Matthew told me that they could not help me to clean and reinstall my carpet and added that they do NOT do any sort of carpet cleaning.
Okay. Got it.
So perhaps you may want to change your Unilocal posting to reflect what it is that you actually do.

Color me unimpressed.
A month ago, I ordered a custom runner in person at their store, picking out a remnant from the floor. When I got home, I remeasured, and called to make an adjustment in the runner length. I got a return voice mail message after their closing hours, confirming the change. We chatted the following Tuesday (after a 3-​day weekend) and all was well.
That’s the good. I appreciate the after hours call and the willingness to make that change (however small it was).
The bad: A month later, and one check in call by me later (pre-​thanksgiving, given vague assurances that after the holiday they’d «reassess everything»), I still have a bare hallway floor.
Had I known these folks were going to drag their feet on such a small project, I’d certainly not have chosen them. I could have easily taken this business online, and had this rug weeks ago. In fact, two rugs I’ve ordered since have been on my floors for two weeks now.
This is an unfinished story that has the potential to end on an up note, and if that happens, I’ll be sure to update my review. For now, everything I’ve said here is just the facts as I see them.
I want to patronize local businesses. This kind of experience, however, is very disappointing, and will affect my future purchasing decisions.

I had seen the Carpet Workroom featured on Chronicle some time ago and was impressed. I wrote down the contact info and planned to check it out. In the meantime I had been searching for an area rug for my living room but could not find anything I liked. I remembered the Carpet Workroom and made plans with my daughter to go one Saturday morning. We went and were not disappointed. We both found carpet we liked and Matt was so helpful. He answered all our questions, unrolled carpet so we could get a better look and measured pieces do we could see the various sizes. I’m pretty particular and don’t often make recommendations but if you are in the market for carpet I highly suggest you stop by the Carpet Workroom. It’s little bit off the beaten path but well worth the trip!

The Carpet Workroom is great! A true hidden gem. They have a huge selection of carpets, from understated to bold and everything in between. This place was a breath of fresh air after visiting store after store and not finding anything I liked. An added bonus is that they can cut your carpet to fit any size or shape your heart desires. Amazing! And you can choose the color for the border. The service was phenomenal, which I happen to find is rare these day. Matt was very helpful. I was bit indecisive and had him roll out several carpets for me to see, and he was happy to do it. Every need I had was met. I purchased a rug for my living room. I found one with a great pattern that matched my color scheme (deep red, gold, brown) perfectly! I wasn’t sure what size I wanted, so Matt put the rug on hold for me and allowed me to call in with the dimensions later. Super accommodating! I definitely recommend checking this place out. You’re sure to love it!
