Bought 2 dozen of donuts to take to work and they were all old and stale donuts. My co-workers also noticed some had dust on top of the chocolate.

You can get fourteen(14) doughnuts for less than ten(10) dollars. This place had been around for decades; it is pretty much a staple landmark in this part of National City. WINCHELL’S Donut House is where it is at… …and that is all there is to say about that ;-)

Winchell’s is the best and cheapest place to have donuts. It feels so retro and I like retro stuff. The donuts are amazing! It’s never closed. What a thrill and good experience to see this place.

Good place for a breakfast sandwich. I had the ham egg and cheese on a croissant for $ 4 and it was good! Also ordered a chocolate donut that was delicious. The people behind the counter were vet friendly. I’ll be coming back since I live nearby!

Horrible service! Came in with my friends and girlfriend at around 11:30pm and the staff looked angry. They definitely looked like they didn’t want to be there. Ramon was the one helping me and he had terrible customer service. I do NOT recommend you come and eat here.

Had a craving for a donut. From past experiences of Winchels as a child and family members actually working for Winchels over the years I figured it would be yummy. Wrong!!! Went in around 6pm(should of known) for a half dozen. Got my six and a croissant! Customer service was already bad. Paid my tab and left. Came home made some coffee and took a bite out of my croissant. I had to spit it out right away. Got my chocolate devil food with nits and hard as a rock, dry and old tasting. Not sure if these were from the night before but they were disappointingly disgusting. I will never go back and do not recommend this place at all.

I love eating winchell donuts because they’re really good but now I don’t anymore… I JUSTFOUND A FUCKINGHAIRINMYDONUT! That is so disgusting and unsanitary! Do people not wear hair nets or tie their hair when they’re making donuts??? I’m not coming back here again.

Not the best doughnuts but I have no choice but to come here. Probably the only shop thats open 24hours. I usually come here around 2−5AM ish, and if I come here alone, I’ll get anxious and get scared. pretty scary around here… Staff here are usually nice but they aren’t lively, who would want to work graveyard schedule. not me. I would be grumpy too. Doughnuts here are A-Okay. They taste really greasy to me, I need coffee with it or I can’t eat it. My favorite here is the non-glazed ones. Dip em into my coffee

I normally don’t 1 star and this place is lucky I even gave it a star but the star only goes for the service. The woman was very nice who helped me, but the doughnuts I received were stale dry and tasteless. Day old doughnuts? more like week old. The cream in the doughnut was dry and sticky if that even makes sense. nothing more to say. But thanks for the hospitality.

Convenient place to get donuts and drinks before work. It is open very early. The service is quick and they have plenty of parking.

I don’t understand what everyone’s complaining about. It’s a 24-hour CHEAP donut shop. 14 donut holes for $ 2. I got two sausage, egg, and cheese croissants for $ 6. I’m sorry, does it bother you that the totally cheap and DELICIOUS donuts weren’t made friggin five minutes ago??? I used to go to the one on Rosecrans when I was stationed at NMAWC, it was my post-drinking ritual, those«croissandwiches»… A million times better than Jack in the Box, McDonalds, AND Burger King, I might add! I happened to be starving on my way home from grocery shopping and took Plaza specifically so I could get one from Winchells. Still delicious. Still cheap. Still smells AMAZING in there. The lady working was Latina, English was certainly her second language, but she communicated well and was all smiles and«have a good day!» She even called me by my name(I think, I could have misheard if she was calling me «mija»), which was weird considering I’d never been there and paid with cash… This place is what it is. It’s not Krispy Kreme, okay? You don’t pay like $ 3 per donut here. If you want really good, cheap donuts that may not be fresh from the oven but are still perfectly good, come here. If you’re a douchebag yuppie, go to Starbucks. I can’t say anything about flies, I didn’t see a single one, the place looked pretty darn clean to me!

Located on a prime breakfast location street. Oh the possibilities! A diner on the west of 805, McDonalds & a SBUX drive thru on the east of it, there’s something for everyone around this location which makes it a favorite of mine. Not many Winchell’s are around now. but they actually own Yum Yum Donuts(and well lookie there, there is a Yum Yum across the street) so now Winchell’s is just a favorite past time of mine. somewhere I go to get back that«old loving feeling.» PS. This location is open 24HRS

Where have all the Winchell’s Donuts gone ??? They used to be everywhere when I was growing up, I even used to live right next to one. I think this is the only one left in the So.Bay. There used to be at least 5 Five other locations in the So. Bay that I can remember. Slowly but surely each one closed down. There are mostly Yum Yum donuts, One Krispy Crème, and tons of Mom and Pop Donut shops. It’s great that this Winchell’s still exists. But, for how long ???

They’re pretty inconsistent with their croissant sandwiches. One time the lady working there told me they didn’t have any and another time my sandwich was tinier than I expected. Surprisingly, despite the change in size, the sandwich was still pretty good.

I walked in with fresh sweet smell of freshly made donuts, and noone in sight! but the spanish speaking lady was rushing me! Like she was busy? I mean there was noone inside! I wanted to take my time to see what I wanted, and she didn’t even understand what I was saying… uuugh, I just wanted a glaze sprinkled donut. two for that matter and I was being RUSHED. Forget it. I bought two and left. good donut.but bad customer service! at least it’s open 24hrs!
