I returned to this place recently and so happy to find out that the mean lady at counter no longer works there. Staff smiles and friendly. Food especially their pusit adobo was really good and langka with coconut oil. I also like their chicharong bulaklak. What a difference! If I can only say one thing, I wish they have fat separator so dishes aren’t going to be that greasy. Thank you Pinoy Fiesta! It makes a whole lot of difference when people who works there are nice and pleasant to customers. :)

I was craving something tasty and substantial. I wanted meat and noodles and rice and I didn’t want to see a nutritional chart on the wall. I know where to go for food like this. In a perfect world I could just call my auntie up and ask her to make me my favorite dishes. She’s on the east coast though so I gotta make do with restaurant food. We got here around 11:30 maybe. There was quite a line. Mostly all servicemen. A nice older gentleman gave me his place in line :), gotta love Filipino uncles. As the line moved along fairly briskly, I noticed that it continued to grow behind me. This place must do a fair amount of lunch business. I was the only female in there the entire time, other than the servers. Prices were pretty good. I got a two item combo with rice + pancit for $ 7.50 I think. I bought more food, of course. I also managed to get the last of the lumpia. I guess it must be busy if they sold out that early. The service I got was very friendly. All of the ladies working the line were busy, but they all managed to smile nonetheless. My bistek was good. I was surprised to find a lot of chicken in the pancit, I’m talking about big chunks of moist chicken. And the portion sizes of everything I received were very generous. What surprised me most was the lumpia. I usually end up tolerating most people’s lumpia because I’m very partial to my stepmother’s. This was actually pretty tasty. I’d get it again.

By far… My best pinoy food to go to. Its just like my home town cooking. Better than any turo turo in san diego. Plus the food is very tasty and seems like they take their time to cook them. The rice needs improvement but thats about it. Try the kare kare and binagoongan. And the bagoong is the best!

Came here a while back because I wanted to try something new other than my local Point Point place. The food was cooked and seasoned a bit differently than Point Point but still had good food. I ordered Kari Kari and some other side items that I took pictures of. It is not Point Point but a good alternative. I would still come back here again.

I do laundry at the laundromat right next to it. I decided to try it one day for lunch and it is good filipino spot. My favorite item to get is the pork menudo(has a lot of flavor) and ginataan(perfect dessert). Also I like their fried vegetable lumpia, but they seem to always run out when I go. They offer a lot more dishes like sisig, dinuguan, pancit, chicken adobo, bicol express, lechon, fish. Not a fan of their pancit. Its very bland. The sisig is great sometimes when they don’t add too much onions. Eveything else is pretty good. For the filipinos, TFC is always on the TV.

It’s Pinoy Fiesta – not a place people rave about, but not really one people talk smack about either. You can get your toro-toro on here and most likely be satisfied because who isn’t satisfied with meat, vinegar, salt, soy sauce, etc. I don’t have any specific recommendations but I will comment that the torta talong had some potato in it which was new/interesting to me. If you’re in the area and need your Filipino food fix, there’s a decent/good place called Pinoy Fiesta. I think there’s another Filipino restaurant in the same plaza – competition sucks(in the restaurant game, at least).

the foods are okay. kailangan lang dagdagan ang serving ng ulam nila medyo kuripot magbigay. especially dito sa san diego people are looking for lots of serving for sure lots of people will come back. and practice good customer service.

I come here for sisig, and Turon. So good. They have a cafeteria style restaurant, you pick your entrée and decide between rice & pancit or ½ and ½. It seems like they do 1 big food preparation in the morning. It doesn’t appear that they replenish food throughout the day. They tend to run out of certain things and once it’s gone, it’s gone. The ONLY time I can get sisig is in the morning, no later than lunchtime! At least it’s freshly made. I haven’t had any poor service issues like other reviewers have stated, the ladies there have been nothing but pleasant when I’ve been there. I give them 3 stars, the food taste good & it’s definitely a place where local Filipinos go, but they are a little greasier than the other Pinoy restaurants — however, still have a great selection of food that taste good at inexpensive prices.

I found this place by accident walking around waiting for my new dentist to open. i ate lunch here about 12pm. i ordered the 3 plate combo to go because i thought i was alot of food and geez it was good. oops i ended up eating it all. i read the other reviews today and im surprised that was so bad for alot of people. maybe i got lucky but seriously, my food was great. i had pancit palabok, eggplant omelette that was wonderful and white rice. i am going back for more.

In San Diego visiting and decided to go to National City for some good Filipino food. I found this place by accident and boy I’m so glad I did. The girls at the counter were so nice. Got the lumpia, pancit, and menudo. MMMMMM! definitely hit the spot. Highly recommended

I agree! That woman was so rude. I was so tempted to try their ulam cuz I was so hungry from my trip from LA, but I was saving my tummy from a home cooked meal. I told the lady, «mukang masarap mga ulam nyo ah!» She did not respond to me not even a thank you cuz I had to spend $ 10 using my card for their sweets to satisfy my hunger and just because I don’t have a cash with me. Turon was ok(maybe bec i was too hungry), Yema was a lil too sweet, macaroons are waay too sweet(ended up throwing them away!) If there’s a next time, I’d still try their ulam. I just wish the lady would be more friendly and welcoming

they can improve on the customer service and portions. some servers give adequate portions, some are stingy. i find the food here better than tita’s. i love their kare-kare. though i haven’t tried the foods that the other commenters here say sucks.

The lady in the counter is very rude… i ordered 3 combo to go. Then the cash register started malfunctioning as she was trying to enter the code or something and blamed me because she taught i was hurrying her up… i mean come on… really??? Its my fault??? Never going back… would just stick to Tita’s.

I’m from d bay and we had a three day girls get together @ d gaslamp SD-soon as we landed d first thing we wanna do is to fill in our tummy after a morning alcohol consumption :) first I Unilocaled at phở places but they don’t open till 9 which I think is kinda odd to be opening that late but whatever– next, one of my beezees mentioned Filipino breakfast so I Unilocaled and there u go… Pinoy fiesta is d only place that opens early so even with d two stars we saw we didn’t really care we just wanted to go somewhere that’s open… We got to this place and stunned by their selections of comfort foods we haven’t had in a while– we were in heaven coz they’re fresh and newly cooked… We ordered different varieties like we’ve never eaten in months and soon as we had our first bite bammmm!!! Food was hella yummy and we liked everythin we got… Sunday, Rachel, Jo and myself gives Pinoy Fiesta a 5 star for the foods!!! The whole three days of our stay @ d gaslamp we drove to Pinoy Fiesta 4 freakin timeS :-)

Decent filipino food in my book. It’ll never beat my grandma’s cooking, but I don’t think anything ever will. Anyway, I’ve been here many times to get food for a family party or to just get lunch. Our favorites would have to be the SISIG, beef steak, kare kare, and lechon. Their pancit is pretty good too. You can get a lunch plate of rice or pancit with 2 items for less than $ 8, and they are very generous with their portions!

I went here to dine one day with the wife and inlaws. Upon approaching the counter and looking at the entrees, I realized that most of the items under the heat lamps didnt look too terribly appealing to me. With that being said I decided to play it safe and order what I know and like. I selected lumpia, pusit(calamari) and white rice. After sitting down and sampling a few bites, dissapointment soon set in. The lumpia was greasy and the calamari tasted like it had been fried in 3 week old oil. They managed to get the rice right but the pancit that I sampled from my wife’s plate tasted greasy as well. Pinoy Fiesta failed to leave me feeling festive with thier sub-par food and I had feelings of regret, secretly wishing that I was eating at my fav filipino restaurant– Zarlitos, which is located across the street from Pinoy. Recommended only if you are interested in raising your chlolesterol level due to the excessive grease!

I’ve had way better Filipino food. When I went, they were out of Pancit when I went, which was very disappointing. I ordered two meat dishes(one steak, the other pork) — both meats were exceedingly tough. I felt kinda sick afterwards as well.

This place is ok. They just renovated the place but somehow it still feels compact. The food’s ok and it’s just not too memorable to me. But anyways it’s cheap and it’s convenient if you have an hour lunch and it’s not so far from the base.
