Lincoln Acres Branch Library

Wow, what an improvement over the old library. This is such a nice library. It has many floors and you can get a nice view from the ninth floor. They now can put out their whole collection of books. Plenty of places to sit and plenty of places to plug in your electricial devices. They have plenty of public computers and allow a patron.

I was introduced to this library though my son’s preschool home school group. They have special field trips there sometimes and the last one was Dr. Suess day. One of the librarians dressed up as the Cat in the Hat and read a couple of Dr. Suess books to the children. They made green eggs and ham crafts and then the teachers helped the children make real green eggs and ham in the community center room (which you can rent). There’s a playground right outside that is perfect for my 4 and 1 year olds. The library is small, but we never have any problem finding books that interest us (it’s almost nicer having fewer choices — certainly less overwhelming for a 4 year old boy). My kids sometimes get distracted by the 3 computers set up for kids, but it hasn’t been a big problem. The staff are excellent, very VERY helpful and friendly, and full of grace and patience for my loud, book loving kids (who have very little respect for the dewy decimal system).
Also, we live in downtown Chula Vista and this library is a little further than our city library, but not at all inconvenient to get to. I kind of like how it is tucked away in the neighborhood.

This library is brand-​new reconstructed. Everything is still clean, fresh and brand new … soo I think Im gonna regret Unilocaling about it … lol … They have lunch area in the back also one basketball court. The playground is brand new. Still small but perfect for little ones. Appears to be more catered to children, age appropriate which great! The staff is great with the kids! A plus. I hope it will continue to stay that way and also expand the kids yoga program! Would not reccomend for pets. Its a friendly Kids Zone. (review posted 7 months ago)

this is a very small branch, but a wonderful option for the local kids… there is free internet, free movie rental etc… they need to do more with the community to get more kids in here though…

This branch of the County Library is great… if you live deep in the neighborhood of Lincoln Acres. Otherwise, the location is rather inconvenient.
Inside, the facility is small, but jam-​packed with resources for patrons. They keep a small but fresh selection of DVD’s. They’ve got 4 or 5 computers. They even have some interesting books for sale as you walk in.
Patrons with sensitive nostrils will want to avoid this branch. A faint but noticeable odor of mildew, body odor, and pee follows you as you browse.
