food is okay, but 1 star for very poor customer service. lady in her ‘50s has attitude and won’t answer any of my questions. when she did, she did so rudely.

Love limpia and pancit and was recommended by a friend of mine that bought some for a party. This is the only place I go when I’m craving this delicious food. Reasonable prices as well.

The place is ok. nothing special. 4 stars for not having prices labeled on all the items. I also didn’t like the lady outside the store that keep begging for money. I gave her a dollar and she went and bought a cigarette with it. They should tell that girl to not hang around and harass customers.

What can I say… this place has a lot of variety with shelves stocked full of different goodies to try. We came in the other day for a pick up order for a potluck. The ladies at the front counter were really nice and professional. They had a crowd of people, but handled everything quickly and efficiently. All of the food(on the shelves, display case, counter and photos) looked delicious. The food that we purchased(shanghi pork egg rolls… they unfortunately ran out of beef) was amazing. I’ll be back to try all the other lovely deserts that they have to offer!

I was in the area(a few miles away, but close enough) and my mom wanted some lumpia, so I cruised over to the shopping center because I remember reading some reviews on this place and was curious to check it out. Yep, I finally had a reason to come by and pick up 25 lumpias and didn’t need to pretend they weren’t all for me! I didn’t stop there though. I got a couple of their ukoy for my mom to try as well. I figured it was about time she try something else besides lumpia and pancit. I was tempted by their turon too, but baby steps with people who can’t remember names haha. The shop is clean and well organized. I liked the way it was decorated too, pretty colors. It’s not big by any stretch of the imagination, but they make good use of what little space they have. Service was excellent! Let me say that again. Excellent! I loved the auntie running the bakery. She was very sweet, and a great sales woman to boot. I’d come back here for all my fried food cravings without hesitation. I definitely want to come back and try some of the actual bakery items next time.

Bought white puto top with cheese yesterday and when I got home it was very soft and looked undercooked! I put in the refrigerator overnight and tried to eat today, but it was still soft. I microwaved it and it melted. Something is totally wrong with it and the taste is also different like it’s spoiled. It’s just something weird and very odd about it. I took a picture of it melted in the trash can. I hope some of the buyers noticed it too and returned it. I live 2 hours away from San Diego and it’s not worth driving back there just to return the spoiled product. Puto top with cheese on 9÷27÷2015. I hope nobody get sick from it.

Buko Pandan drink has always been my go to drink. I can’t leave this place without buying one. I also buy their $ 2.506 piece yema boxes. WARNING: Anything you buy here WILL turn you into an addict! Filipino dessert-addict!

Decent prices good flavors. One of the desserts I chose, unfortunately turned so I had to throw it away. Might have been the humidity yesterday. Still a good place to go. Check it out!

Hands down the best filipino food and deserts. When I feel like getting my family together usually I always take an order of lumpias. They are so yummy! Crunchy great authentic taste. But one thing I do recommend is not to order through phone. Because theirs always a miscommunication. Its happen to me a few times. Best thing to do is order in person and pick up next day. It’s a great deal I get 50 lumpias for $ 20! Delish! They don’t really speak English well but when you ask for lumpia. They say Shanghai learned that’s what it means. Heads up!

Their puto here tastes so incredibly moist and delicious! 6 mini ones for $ 3.25 and their halo halo is decent, a bit on the milky side but satisfies my craving. They have minimum $ 5 for card usage.

Hands down the best Filipino desserts and food in town! They also provide catering dishes as well(adobo, sisig, beef steak, etc.), but you have to order at least a day in advance for those. Their turon is so good and crispy. Get them while it’s hot! And they sell pancit by a small tray if you’re hungry. They also sell nilupak, leche flan, halea ube, fresh lumpia, vegetable lumpia, shanghai lumpia, bibingka, puto, etc. Sarap!

I have tried their panscit, turon, and lumpias and thery are all really good. My son really enjoys the casaba. This spot is a must stop when traveling to National City, I have been coming here since I was a little girl with my parents and now as a parent myself; my son and I go. They offer several Filipino deserts and food. Everything is to go; they have no where to sit and eat.

OHMY! (5 stars) Can we say future diabetic?! Filipino desserts galore. Pinakamahusay na dessert. I namatay at napunta sa langit. Headed to my people’s hood, National City, to see what they offered. As we know, Daly City, in the BayArea is «mini Manila». I had to do a comparison. National City’s Filipino restaurants seem to be the same and all turo-turo style. DC takes the win. HOWEVER, when it comes to desserts I’m going to have to give it up to this place! I need to learn to refrain myself because I bought so much in excitement. SUMANWITHUBE — they even had ube Pandan suman. They were all wrapped in bite size. It was messy trying to eat them in the car, I suggest you wait to eat them. The suman was purple and had a sweeter taste from the ube flavor. No sugar required! SAMPLESET — 3 mini pieces of Sapin-Sapin, 4 mini pieces of pitsi-pitsi, 4 mini pieces of kusinta, 4 mini pieces of ube kusinta, and 4 mini pieces of Biko ube. THIS was the best because you can taste more for your money. Sapin-sapin was the best. Look at my pictures, it will make you drool. AGAR-AGAR — so damn hot in SD, it is a must to quench your thirst with one of these. Thickness reminds me of bubble tea and the bottom fixings remind me of halo halo. If you are not a big Pandan fan, the taste isn’t too strong in the drink. Will I be back? Yes! You don’t have to ask me twice JABAAPPROVED… Until the next review.

They’ve seemingly got all of the Filipino Desserts here… the favorites of course… Turon, Kutchinta, and Bibingka. Visually always enticing… and although I haven’t tried all of the desserts here, I can only speak for the Turon and Kuchinta — which were as good as I’ve had anywhere. They also have some hot foods under a heat lamp. Dinuguan, Okoy, Pancit and Arroz Caldo can be ordered as well. The location is convenient being in the first strip mall east of the 805 freeway at the Plaza Blvd exit. Parking in this center can be a challenge. Prices are fair enough, and on the wall menu, there are prices for ordering Dessert Party Trays that you often see at Filipino parties. Nice establishment to have in National City/San Diego when in the craving or need to bring a dessert to a Filipino party.

Really good turon, pancit, and arroz caldo. Prices are so cheap too! Their turon(deep fried banana wrapped in egg roll-like wrapping, deep fried and glazed with sugar) is the best in this plaza. The arroz caldo(chicken porridge) is perfect on a cold day or when you’re sick. Squeeze in lemon and and a dash of pepper and you have a delicious meal for $ 2.50! Service is as expected in a «fast-food» joint. For the price you pay, there shouldn’t be much complaint. They also have tons of desserts there, however I’m not a huge dessert person so I won’t be reviewing that.

I’ve been coming here for years! We always come to get some turon, the dessert assortment plates, karioka, and their malabon! This is definitely one of my favorite places that’s authentic to my culture. Their malabon is my personal favorite, and every time I’m out of San Diego, this place is what I miss most! I always get excited to come here with my Mom. Oh! And their suman is good too!

This is a review for the amazing turon, served by dozen of them on a plate OR by the individual. The turon at desserts plus is by far the best turon ive ever eaten. Get them while they are hot and crispy. I love this place because they put just about of glazed on them so that it compliments the banana inside, oh so good! This is my go to spot if I want my turon fixed. :p

Sad to say that I didn’t like the desserts I bought at Filipino Desserts. I will definitely return to give it another try and order some other items. The desserts looked so good as I gazed through the glass and made my selection of items. I purchased Puto, Kuchinta, Palitaw(I called it Dila Dila?) and Cascaron(IDK what they call it but this is what Ilocano’s call it.) The puto and kuchinta had no taste. :(I think if I ate the kuchinta with coconut it would’ve tasted better but I was not given any when I checked out. The cascaron on the other hand reminded me of my moms desserts. Yummy sweet melted sugar over deep fried mochi flour balls. Hopefully on my next visit I will remember to ask for coconut and I’ll learn the names of these desserts.
