Brickrow Property Management

My experience with this company has been great! The representative I have had the pleasure of dealing with, is Karina, who is in charge of the complex where I currently reside.
Karina is just wonderful to work with. Karina is attentative and get’s on top off things immediately. She takes the time to answer emails in record time and sets time aside for meeting personally and addressing any issue or concern, sometimes setting a meeting for the same day the request was made.
As far as customer service and attention to detail, Karina is at the top of her profession and from reading up on some of the reviews here, perhaps this company would do well to hire more people like her.

I have had the misfortune of having Brickrow be the property manager for my HOA’s three times in the last 20 years for two different properties. I cannot say that in that period of time their property management skills have improved. Although, I would like to point out their location has! I agree with a post that has been removed as «not recommended» from Eastlake area that this company will do repairs/​maintenance for the cheapest possible price. I also agree with another post that this company is shady and lack professionalism. An example of such, Brickrow stated fences had to be replaced and there not being enough funds in reserve (because there were NEVER enough funds in reserves based on their math at both complexes) we would be required to pay supplemental dues to cover the cost. As homeowners, and not the board of directors I might add, we took the initiative and got bids from different fence companies. We not only found a company at a cheaper price but willing to do the work in sections to allow for the reserve fund to replenish. No supplemental dues required from any of the homeowners. Yes, we as the homeowners who pay a property manager to manage our funds had to go out and do their job for them. All it took was a few calls and a few appointments. I can only speculate as to why they choose the vendors that they do. They are very good at collecting fees. They are, however, not there to manage anything but what seems to be their own interests. As for screaming at board meetings. I was witness to that kind of behavior back in the late 1990’s. It was that kind of lack of professionalism that made me refuse to attend any HOA meetings at any of my properties since then while Brickrow managed them. Sad to see 12 – 15 years later I’m seeing a post about this same behavior. Well, a few months back I received notice that Brickrow is now property manager at one of my units… again. I’m currently having water issues at that unit and have called twice for assistance. I’ve not heard back. Just as expected.

Brickrow is AWFUL. 14.3 in our R&Rs state that moving out sales are allowed. They took all of our signs down today after talking to my husband. And my husband informed Management of the sale last week. Management said «just be sure no one parks in the red.» They are immature and unreasonable. We are thankful to be leaving. However. sad for our neighbors who have to live under their rule.

but the email didn’t go through. We then called the emergency number on the website and left a message. No return call.

Robert came to our house this morning about 9a. He asked us to take our signs down (I will post a picture. We were very immature. Sometimes it seems you have to meet people at their level.) He claimed he didn’t take our original signs down, but watched a neighbor do it. When we asked why he didn’t tell the neighbor that it was ok for us to have the sale, he said it was the neighbor’s right to take the signs down. Ok, it was our right to put up new signs. :)
He also told us to take down our Unilocal review because it was untrue. We suggested he come make a rebuttal here.
PS. I only posted the sign because Robert was taking pictures of it and I didn’t want to be accused of hiding any info. So now it’s all out there. We made a few others, but still need to pull them down off the street. Hubby posted them high. lol I have no problems posting them if anyone wants to see more of our lame pathetic immaturity. After 8 years, I’m just so over this crap.

I do not know why people would still base this company off reviews from so long ago. I guess companies can never improve or better themselves right? My experience with them has been nothing but pleasant. They recently started managing the condos where I live and in that short time they took it upon themselves to notify us of a fine we had on our account from the previous property management that was never brought to our attention, we never even received a notice as to what the fine was for. They helped me resolve the issue and I was very grateful that they took the time to contact us. Since then they have been very helpful when I have had any concerns.

Very helpful, friendly people. They are easy to deal with.

Wow I am surprise that this company still in business.

I wish I could give them a FAT ZERO but unfortunately there’s no option for that. I don’t lease with this management company but again unfortunately I live in a building that they are responsible for. They are people that lie, they have the worst work ethic. Robert, was the worst «manager» I ever had to deal with in such a short amount of time. This place is HORRIBLE.

I wish I could give them a negative star they are the worst property management in San Diego. They never return calls, they never do maintenance that is required, I lived here for over 5 years I have complained about the condition of my garden every month and they still haven’t done anything. I have made complaints about their maintenance personnel using my water and hooking up power tools to my power box they still don’t return my phone calls or do anything to prevent it. I even have emailed them proof of this. If you can help it please do not move in to any residence managed by this company. They are crooks

This company has certainly earned its reputation a complete joke and i think it starts with the HOA’s that hire them it’s all corrupted, board members are on payroll giving themselves raises. When going to board meeting members are confrontational and condacending, arrogant pricks. Maintenance doesn’t get done or it’s not done right but if you hold payment they’re right on top of that if i had known what a complete headache living in a condo under an HOA would be would never have done it they are a bunch of crooks that are like our polititicians, self serving, unethical hypocrites. I recently sold my condo and got away from the HOA’s & Brickrows corruption they are a bunch of stealing scumbags, feels so good not having to be robbed monthly!

I know there have been more Negative Reviews that are no loner showing up here!!! Brickrow is the most Defensive Rude, Inefficient and Totally Useless Company I have ever dealt with! Jim Ladd falls asleep during HOA meetings and double talks and makes excuses about their poor services. Adrianna Ladd, his wife, is very rude! She has yelled at residents during HOA meetings! She is very unprofessional and defensive … There are shouting matches at the meetings. We are all so angry with Brickrow!
Our mailboxes were broken into over 3 weeks ago! They finally got the boxes installed last night. We were not told when the new keys would be delivered. I came home today to find a paper on my door which said «Postal Systems has notified USPS and we are waiting on them to install their postal locks, they allow 3 days to do this, please note Mail will not be delivered to the new mailboxes until they are locked by the post office…»
Now the Best Part … I come home to find out Brickrow came by in the middle of the day to deliver the new key… without any notice… It’s Friday afternoon Memorial Day Weekend… Of course, Brickrow is closed on the weekends!
The notice goes on to say «if you received this notice, it is because we attempted to deliver you your new key but you were not home»… «Please stop by our office from 8 am– 4 pm to pick up your new mail box key»!!!
I Work Between 8−4… So now I Have to Take off Work to get My Key at their office! Their website is down. We pay Them to Serve Us! They Expect Us to Come to Them… Something is Very Wrong with this company! Beware… all we get for our HOA money is Excuses!

I can’t even be bothered with the energy of telling you why this company has failed me repeatedly. By far, the most unproffessional, lackadaisical property «management» company I have every had to attempt to accomplish anything with. They cannot even manage to communicate. Let alone assist you in anyway whatsoever. Negative 5 stars.

I wish you could give a negative star rating. Unhelpful. Overpriced. Swindlers. They’re dues are astronomical. They give you crappy service. They’re a shady bunch and will bend you over a barrel any chance they get.
Look elsewhere. Do NOT give them your business. Try Utopia Management. MUCH better.

worst management company they dont get things done, emails ignored do not get a place under this companies mismanagement!!! Maintenance issues unaddressed for years and when done not professionally bringing down owners property values. Funny repairs were not in the budget but paying off board members was? A total waste of time attending board meetings were these arrogant blowhards didn’t answer any questions or show where HOA funds were going no bids were ever presented to owners just corrupt business practices. I got so tired of being robbed by the HOA board that was on payroll and this mis management company that I sold my condo and bought a home so nice to be out of there! To my amazement they got an A+ rating with BBB what a joke!
