I got Lyme in May and have been frustrated with the lack of knowledge in the medical profession about how to recognize it and how to treat this complex disease that includes multiple co-infections from different organisms. My own PCP, who I’ve trusted for 25 years, recognized that I did have lyme but she treated it in a simplistic way that did not help — one short course of antibiotics. When the illness returned afterwards — first in waves of every other week, and then became constant, she said I wasn’t sick! She said that perhaps I’d caught a bug. Hey, I know when I’m sick. And I know my own body and this was no ordinary bug. I’m not a hypochondriac and have enjoyed good health all my life. So I knew that what was happening to me was a new complex kind of illness, and it had started when I got that deer tick bite. I found Dr. Mordas through a friend on Martha’s Vineyard where the lyme epidemic is even more severe than here on the mainland. This woman travels several hours to see Dr. Mordas. You can’t diagnose lyme in a fifteen minute appointment, which is all most PCPs will give you. Dr. Mordas spent forty-five minutes and brought extensive knowledge to the appointment. This doctor really listened, asked a lot of questions and took a comprehensive approach. I was impressed. I’ve seen that she’s gotten bad reviews because of an ornery receptionist. The receptionist who took care of me when I arrived was courteous, as was the one who helped me make the initial appointment which I had to change twice. Her lab technicians were also upbeat and quick. But what matters most to me is that the doctor knows medicine, really listens to the patient, and is current with this serious disease. A week after she began treating me, I for the first time, have my energy back, no feverish sweats, and joint aches.

Have been to her multiple times since my initial visit in April. Find her to be punctual, educated and no nonsense. Had a tough diagnosis and she nailed it head on. All the referrals that have been necessary have been great. I find her compassionate and kind as well. Will be taking my teens to her as soon as they are a little older! She came highly recommended and now I too am happy to say she is great!

My appointment with Dr. Mordas was fine(without issue); however, her support staff/receptionist(Maggie) was a total nightmare to deal with. Maggie was very rude and condescending to patients. She stated that it was not her responsibility to let patients know that Dr. Mordas had switched hospital networks and that«no one knows what the Partners network is anyway» so there would be no point in telling them that she is no longer with them. Not only is Maggie rude but she’s unintelligent and talks incessantly to patients about nonsense which just makes her plain olé annoying. I will be searching for a new PCP so that I don’t have to deal with the rude support staff here again.

Simone is a good enough doctor, but her office staff is rude and inefficient. My last three requests for referral haven’t been processed correctly. When I called in a pinch, Maggie at the front told me that she«really doesn’t care» and later hung up on me. They can’t even keep my address on file correctly, even after verifying it in 3 office visits. Too bad, because I like Simone, but I really need to move on. The hassle isn’t worth it!
