OTF is one of the best gym experiences I’ve ever had. As a tech nerd myself, I love the fact that they are using wearable technology to monitor your biology. This allows me to maximize my workout while still keeping it safe. I also like the fact that there all kinds of people working out and not just elite athletes. Joe and his staff have done such a great job in helping everyone feel welcomed and important. Location is great too.

I absolutely recommend this to anyone interested in a good workout. The whole idea is great. Everyone wears their own heart rate monitor and there’s a screen that tells where everyone is with regard to their maximum heart rate(based on info they take when you start). That sounds competitive because you can see other people on the screen, but because the class is split in half between floor workouts and cardio, you really can’t tell if you’re doing better or worse than other people. The screen lets you know if you are at a «base» rate, «push» rate, or «all out.» The great thing is that your goal is not to do the same amount of activity as everyone else, but to be at the zone the trainer wants you to be in. So you can be a walker on the treadmill who increases their hear rate with incline, or you can be a runner on the tread and increase speed. For floor blocks there are a lot of modifications so you can build your strength at your pace. And the trainers/instructors are great. They keep the energy up and are walking around the whole time making sure you are doing the activities properly and telling you what to do during the hour. The class goes by so fast and you feel great after! And the owner is very friendly and knowledgeable!
