Went here after a show hoping for some wine and a bite to eat. The wine bar concept is fun and I’ve enjoyed it other places. They had a good selection of wines, though I was surprised how many leaned to the higher price range, especially given the«not so high end» atmosphere of the bar. My husband was impressed with their beer selection. The menu was small with the standard fried options, but it was the word beignet that caught my eye. I had a taste memory of Café du Monde. And these beignets had stuff in them, even better(so I thought). We ordered the apple beignets on the recommendation of our waiter. The menu described them as having apples with brown sugar inside, brushed with butter and sprinkled with sugar. What we actually got was not very good fried dough with one slice of apple inside, a mountain of powder sugar on top and chocolate syrup underneath. All in all disappointing. If I was at the arena for an event and just wanted some wine, I might come here, but I won’t bother with the food again.

Wow, I was pleasantly surprised. Opus One? Holy Smokes! So this is an actual wine bar, it really doesn’t look like it from the outside. The bar is huge, 5 rooms maybe? Maybe more, with a rooftop deck. We grabbed the table under the stairs between the first and second floor. We also grabbed a wine player’s club card. Thinking about it, it’s dangerous really, a swipe card pre-loaded with $ 100? I tried to be very conscientious about the whole thing. Thankfully when you put in your card it tells you your balance, so as long as you don’t get tanked and start buying $ 85 glasses of wine you should be okay. So this is how it works. Along the wall there are bottles of wine with a spout. You choose 1 oz, 2 oz or a full glass. For some one who needs to count their ounces this works well. It also allows you to try more. Above each button blinks the price. Overall it ranges from $ 1.47 tastes to $ 85 glasses. There is something there for everyone. The wine selection isn’t half bad either, surprising actually. Overall I had a great experience, my only complaint is I wish they livened up the music a bit. They were playing 90’s rock ballads. Also the bathrooms are incredibly clean. Pre-Preds game I’ll be back!

What a hidden gem! I LOVE this place! I have to admit, I have yet to try the food. The wine bar has a great selection and you can’t beat the rooftop view!!!

I have never told this to anyone, but I am a Titanic survivor. Yes, the ship and the movie. Both. When I was in that icy ink of the midnight Atlantic, watching the unsinkable happen, I was thinking of two things. One, the scumbag travel agent and how I was going get Vinnie, my cousin in New York to get him to sleep with the fishes. Two, beignets. God, I could kill a travel agent for a good beignet at that very moment in my sorry existence. While everyone started swimming towards Europe or the Americas, on a hunch, I headed towards Africa. It was mainly a hunch and also there was a school of Tiger sharks nibbling at my toes. After swimming for hours in the icy darkness, my feet hit shore and I crawled myself onto a tiny island with a single coconut tree, a refrigerator and a grand piano. I opened the fridge and found a bottle of wine, a tomato and a dictionary. At that point, I relaxed and let myself go, for I had found absolute peace amidst the raging waters and the hungry sharks. That is precisely how one feels atop the rooftop terrace bar of Wild Bill’s. As the tourists in cowboy hats and new ungainly boots parade up and down Broadway, as traffic hiccups and lurches, as obnoxiously loud«music» vomits from the strip, Wild Bill’s decidedly feels like an oasis in the ocean of din and sleaze. For a southern bar, there is an impressive choice of imported Belgian ales. Heck, they have more imports than domestics, which is how I like a bar to be. However, the beignets are best fed to the tourists or sold to crack addicts at an exorbitant price. I have had the original in Paris and WB’s beignets taste as if a pound of sugar exploded in oven, taking some eggs and flour hostage. Their unique wine bar downstairs is an exotic place to visit at least once. I must say it is a Wine Buffet more than a bar, what with serve yourself concept. IMO, the prices were slightly high for the quantity doled by the dispenser, but it sill has a cozy flair to it, with its leather couches and a moderate selection of wines. I hope you are able to read this review, for I used up the only tomato to write it and have snuck the letter in a bottle. Also, could someone telegraph a message to Vinnie, telling him where I am. There still are telegraph offices, right?

I was ready to be disappointed due to the negative reviews but was pleasantly surprised. Friendly owners, good oyster po-boy and tasty beignets. Everything was served in a timely fashion and we had no complaints. A good experience overall! Chris

After a trip to New Orleans a while back, I came home to Nashville with an occasional beignet craving and decided to check this place out. To qualify, I haven’t tried anything here but the beignets and have been in a few times during the day at random times so don’t have much to say about the crowd. The beignets were pretty decent, and also reminded me that even in New Orleans there is nothing really all that special about beignets(you just get so caught up in the *idea* of them being so good!). They do have good flavors here like banana. You better like a lot of powdered sugar! I usually also wander around the building when I’m here. If you stop in, just start poking around. Walk up the stairs. They have some cool spaces including a rooftop deck. It seems like a pretty fun place to hang out, but strangely it’s usually pretty empty in there. Also, everything on the ground floor motorcycle-themed. Wheel-topped tables and bike frames hanging around the walls. It looks more artistic than bad-ass-biker-dude, which I appreciate.

Best rooftop in Nashville. Cool wine bar also.

Nothing stuck out as outlandishly wrong, however beer was far too expensive. I paid the same amount for a beer here that I paid for a pitcher 2 bars over. The staff was friendly last time I was there, but I needed to leave and meet some friends over at Paradise Park(there had been a phone miscommunication and I was just going to stop in for a drink while waiting to find them). I had cash for a normal priced drink, this was not it, so I had to wait to leave… eh, nothing life threatening. I’d try it again, but it did not draw me in in any fashion other than I was wondering what bikes they had

I’ve been here twice and I’ve yet to have much of an enjoyable experience. The first time I went, I ordered a chicken salad sandwich. You know chicken salad — scoop, scoop done. We were there before a Preds game and we got there about 1.5 hours before the game. You would think chicken salad would have been something quick. Nope. We get to about 10 minutes before game time — that’s 80 minutes or so, math wizards — and my chicken salad sandwich arrives… on crackers. I’m not sure if someone had to run to Kroger and get the chicken salad and got bck and realized they were out of bread or what… but yeah… it wasn’t what I ordered and they didn’t apologize for it… it’s six months later and I still haven’t received the chicken salad that I actually ordered. The second time went a little better. I ordered the Monte Cristo beignet and I received the Monte Cristo beignet. However, that was the last time we saw the waitress for about 45 minutes… so we’re done eating… we’re ready to go… she’s nowhere to be found. Then she gets our cards mixed up, charging the wrong people for the wrong meals. Also, both times they were out of boudin. That seemed a little off. I’m not sure what the problem with this place is — it looks like it would be a fantastic place to hang out, but they don’t seem to put their concept into application. However, if you do happen to go and you see my chicken salad… tell it hello and that I wish we had met.

Been here a few times pre and post Preds games, and what I will say is that you need to make sure to schedule yourself some time here. Not to say that the wait staff is slow by any regards, it’s the kitchen that’s slow. The wait staff has always taken care of us and heck, they even gave a group of Preds fans a lough upstairs to ourselves post-game. It just seems like the kitchen runs a little slow… i.e. — it took 35 minutes to receive a chicken salad sandwich on a croissant. It’s almost as if they had to kill the chicken, mix the salad and bake fresh croissants. Pros — They have a good selection of beer. The food is great once you get it. I’ve had the chicken salad sandwich, the gator bites, and chicken andouille. All have great flavor. The beignets are also great with chocolate drizzled over them. Cons — Kitchen is slow and timing is horrible. 3 people at our table received their food, and it took 10 minutes for the other 4 people to get their food. The beer they have on tap is constantly changing. Again, if you have the patience, this is a great place to just chill. If you have time restraints though, go somewhere else. —— Ok, so I have to make an edit, and change it to 4 stars. I went here on Valentine’s Day for the Wine Bar only, and it was amazing. The folks here were extremely knowledgeable about tasting and instructed my date and I where we should start to get a palette ready. So yeah, definitely go hear for a great variety of wine that you can sample, get a half glass, or even a full glass!

(ETA: They’ve changed the name, apparently. It used to be called Wild Bill’s Beignets and Bikes.) I’m a big fan of juxtaposition, and you can’t get much more polar than French doughnuts and motorcycles. But… $ 45 for lunch seems a little outrageous for microwaved shrimp –albeit very large microwaved shrimp! — two beers and a margarita. I don’t know; they were good microbrews(Abita and Oskar Blues), but seriously. I felt like we were back at that god-awful excuse for a bierhaus in the French Quarter. Also, we couldn’t get anything fried because there was no batter, and that was a big disappointment. The bartender/server lady was really nice. And the margarita was tasty. But. yeah, that doesn’t really make up for the prices and the sub-par food. I think you should skip it.

Seriously. After working there for a few weeks I would not suggest this place to anyone. The food and drinks are way over priced. Especially considering what you get. Yipee a fancy doughnut… so what?! I’ve had beter beignets at Eastland Café. Maybe if someone that actually knew how to run a business took that place over, it would be worth a shit. Hence; the reason I quit… and I’m not just saying that because I quit. That place sucks. Tons of potential, tons of ideas, little execution. p.s. also is known for ripping off employees.

The grilled shrimp(the best I’ve had in Nazzy), chicken tenders, and fries are awesome. Gator is pretty good too. Beer stocks were short on our visit, but a nice Abinta Andygator doppelbock provided a good compliment to the food. Don’t forget the beignets!

strange concept in my mind… motorcycles and beignets. I was hoping for a handmade, fresh beignet. you won’t find it here. the beignets are made by a machine… similar to something you would find at a chain, doughnut store. coffee was really disappointing. beignets were priced a bit high in my opinion… it’s just fried dough! I guess they must be servicing a certain clientele(tourists).they’re still up and running.

What an odd mix of New Orleans + wine bar. The food was great… and the wine bar is FABULOUS. I love the idea of the refillable card to try new things. We came here for a friends birthday party; and most of the staff were very accommodating and attentive. The hostess/server(?) seemed a little new and uninformed, but showed some effort. Definitely a spot we’ll come to again.

Sometimes you walk into a place filled with promise. Wild Bill’s was a bit like that. We walked in absolutely famished, and waited patiently for a waiter. Hmm. Taking a while. We give up waiting at our table and my boyfriend attempts to catch the attention of the girl behind the bar. I am really dying for those beignets and alligator by now. Tick tock. Zero acknowledgment. Are we invisible? I wish I could say this was purely because the servers were busy– they were not. I suppose joking around amongst themselves is of greater importance than providing customers with some semblance of service. The beignets were quite perfect, alligator was delicious and Bill himself was friendly… I just wish he hadn’t stepped out because this entire experience was marred by his staff.

This is a really cool place. I’m not sure how the bar scene is, but Wild Bill’s abounds with personality and style. The beignets are delectable. I’m not sure how beignets and bikes get together, but it seems to work just fine. There is not a lot of room around the bar, so it may get crowded when the drinkers are out drinking, but I don’t know.

On a Sunday in Nashville, it was next to impossible to find a place open for lunch. We found Wild Bill’s on a sidestreet and decided to settle there because we were hungry! The menu is sparse with beignets and baskets of fried fish or chicken to choose from, but the product is rich! I went with the«Monte Cristo» which ended up being two beignets filled with ham and swiss cheese, covered with butter and powdered sugar. Let’s just say I submitted it to «This is why you’re fat» afterwards. But it was DELICIOUS and I finished every last bite. The beignets tasted just like I remember them in New Orleans and the coffee that he had was perfect as well. My dad got the catfish basket and enjoyed that too. Overall, it was a good stop when looking for a taste of Southern cooking! Although soft spoken, you could tell Bill cares about the quality of his food and the finish product proves it!
