Came into this bar for the warmth due to the cold temps outside and were happily surprised. Bartender, Shay. ½ Italian –new york-½ Tenn redneck(her words) made us at home. Bar had good music, heat and more importantly a warm welcome!

Cool place. Good atmosphere and functional upward negative air flow to keep the place from filling up with a stale cloud. Not a huge fan of the bar setup but it is what it is. There’s plenty of other seating options besides just plopping down at the bar although that seems to be where most patrons congregate. Cigar selection is varied and should suit most palates. You’ll probably recognize the brands if not the blends. I’m not keen on only having access to a straight cutter or the fact that there are only two lighters chained to either end of the bar but if you can’t handle that then maybe bring your own. I wouldn’t go so far as to say it ruins the experience. I did enjoy my time here and would recommend stopping in for a while. If you’rve spent the whole day in the convention center like I had then this will be a welcome retreat when you finally break free.

Nice and quiet, totally different from the downstairs(thank god). It’s dark it smells like cigars(for obvious reasons). Strong drinks and the bartender is nice to look at. Overall, I wouldn’t kick it out of bed for eating crackers.

Typically good music, like most bars on broadway, but the drinks are pricey and the service is pretty poor and very rude. Not sure I’ll go back considering so many other options. Change a few bad eggs working the bar, adjust the prices a bit, and poof it could become a great place.

Great music in downtown Nashville can be found at The Wheel on Broadway. Solid drink specials and tremendous pizza!

The space itself is nice and the staff there are incredibly helpful. Hunter(bartender) knows his stuff and makes some great drinks. Pretty small and limited cigar selection, but they have some quality sticks. Great atmosphere for groups. First time there today and two or three bachelor parties were there, which is nice but it can take away from the relaxing atmosphere that most cigar bars promote.

Good to go! Decent selection of sticks from a small humidor. Friendly bartenders, good booze. What else do you need.

Great selection of cigars and top shelf liquor. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about cigars and cocktails. Relaxing atmosphere. Try the Padron 1926 series smooth!

The Wheel has great ambiance and vibe. The bands are great and there are plenty of drink selections to choose from. The prices aren’t bad and there is more than enough fun to be had a this joint!

Dropped in on a busy night to find this place empty and to be verbally assaulted at the door by an overly inebriated young lady. Grabbed 2 Yazoos for $ 10.50, enjoyed a couple tunes(one of which seemed to be a requirement by the bar — Wagon Wheel, also mentioned by another reviewer — and bounced.

A fun little Nashville bar, lively crowd and great music. If you are bar hopping it is a solid place to stop in and grab a drink.

Very small bar and drinks are a little more pricey. We did see a great band there though.

I travel all over and this may be the worst cigar bar I have ever experienced. Small and dirty with a poorly stocked humidor and bar. Ridiculously overpriced and limited scotch selection — described by the ad as“extensive” — it consisted of three Macallans, Oban, two Glenlivets and a 10yo Laphroaig. I chose the Laphroaig — $ 17 for tightly measured dram. I had to point to bottle because the bartender, by her own admission, knew nothing about scotch. When questioned the price, which seemed high for such a dreary hole in the wall she responded«I don’t set the prices» — charming. Seating was limited to four tables, the bar and only four cushioned chairs. AVOID.

So rock me momma like a wagon wheel~ Rock me momma any way you feel~ Heeeeeeey momma rock me~ Bar hopping on Broadway in Nashville is just like bar hopping on the vegas strip — overcrowded, mostly douchey, and totally overpriced. If you’re looking for a bit of a reprieve from all that madness, The Wheel may be for you. It sure was for me on a Saturday night of barhopping. I liked that my friends and I were able to get a seat and easily could order & drink our beers. I didn’t like that the guys from the band(or their henchman) would come to collect money about every five minutes. The first time they went around, I supported the band. The second time, I reminded them I just put in and they said something along the lines of(but in a nicer way) so? that was five minutes ago. Blah, pressure. Other than that, I was on board with The Wheel… and their back patio!

DONOTGOHERE! We had the RUDEST woman working the counter. I didn’t have a cigar, but my husband and friend were interested in getting the best of the best. They had a lot of questions, which she ultimately scoffed at and acted like they were inconveniencing her. Admittedly, they were a little drunk… but, you are located on a street full of bars! She came over and told my husband not to curse and to «look awake.» The cigar selection was decent, but the service is the worst.

I had a difficult time rating this place… stopped in on Saturday afternoon to have a seat and smoke a cigar… wanted a place that wasn’t shoulder to shoulder and could smoke, it certainly provided that! I can’t comment on the cigar selection as I brought my own being a regular cigar smoker and knowing I like premium sticks… the bartender/server Saturday was very nice and pleasant/friendly… there was anywhere between 10 – 20 people there at any time during the two hours I Was there… alot of younger people, mostly not regular cigar smokers by my observation(but trying to impress other customers acting like they were… I heard one young man tell a customer if he wanted to try a top shelf cigar get the Makers Mark, the best there is! haha) anyway… To my heart of review… the place needs to be better cleaned and wash the windows that look out over broadway… a smoking bar/lounge doesn’t have to feel musky and dirt… and please consider stocking premium Bourbons in a cigar bar… otherwise, a nice stop for a break!

I don’t like being tricked. And, I feel like the Wheel is up to some Happy Hour trickery. We strolled in around 4, which was happy hour based on the sign, and ordered a Bud Light. Standard happy hour choice I’d think, but the $ 9 cost for two suggested otherwise. Maybe it’s because the bartender gave us bottles, but we’d certainly had stayed for more than one if she had made some HH suggestions. Also, during our short sit at the bar, someone walked in, sat down and waited, and then waited some more, while the bartender chatted, checked her phone, and played with aluminum foil(no joke), until he was tired of waiting and moved on. Well, Wheel, that’s another way to lose business. I understand now why this is one of the least crowded bars on Broadway, making for awkward call on you requests for music suggestions by the performers(and it’s hard to pretend not to hear when you’re one of two couples in the bar). Get some new staff, and a real HH, and maybe you can make it. Until then, it’s off our Nashville list.

Broadway can be a bit overwhelming. I was just looking for a spot to have a beer and listen to some music before my ghost tour. I luckily stumbled into this place. They had an awesome band playing, a couple of stone cold foxes in cowboy hats. I am not into country but these guys were jamming. They had the crowd feeling good and were shouting things like«Cant be bashful in Nashville» and«Holler and swaller». I was glad to see they had beer on tap as a few of the other joints I walked into did not. They had the Yazoo beer I was hoping to try and it was awesome. and $ 5.25 a little steep, but there is no cover to get in and it is Broadway. Would definitely go back next time I’m in Nashville.

You know what… I really enjoy going to The Wheel. I think it’s an underrated honkey tonk on Broadway. The bar is narrow but large, and they always have a live band and dancing at the front. Then you can pass through the crowd up front and grab a drink in the back and have some space to move around and enjoy a slightly quieter environment. I like this bar for live music on Broadway a lot. The bands are always great, drinks are reasonable, and there’s a cigar bar upstairs. What’s not to like?
