Extremely poor service and even worse pizza. Tastes like it was reheated from 3 days ago. No one says thank you or hello. I recommend pizza from Manny’s in the alley if you’re in the area.

My husband and I came in on a Monday night and I was thoroughly impressed. First off, I thought the décor was adorable but not overkill. Love the checkered table cloths. Little tealights in the jars on the tables would have just set it off but I can’t complain. We ordered a BBQ chicken pizza with no onions. It came out with onions and we told the server and she was super apologetic and said she put it in wrong. She was great and redid our order and it only took about 10 minutes for the new pizza to come out. Due to the mistake she brought us out some complimentary garlic bread to ride us over which I appreciated. Our corrected pizza was done within 10 minutes and it was delicious! Definitely the kind you need a knife and fork and you can tell the crust is homemade and not frozen. I’m looking forward to coming back!

My pasta was slightly better than awful it did not come with the garlic knots either. It tasted like really bad jar sauce. The chicken tasted like hard chicken breast that was microwaved. The only good thing is that they deliver. You want a delivery order something else not worth the wait or money!

Don’t waste your time. Ordered delivery tonight and to say I was disappointed would be an understatement. Do yourself a favor. Drive to Kroger, get some Chef Boyardee, splurge on the wine, and call it a night… This place is a JOKE!

Unremarkable. Disorganized. Slow. They seem like nice wait staff and the food is ok, but they’re all in each other’s business and seem very rough around the edges. The exterior is completely unnoticeable. They seem to be rushing the lunch crowd out a bit much. Just not terribly impressed, and with very affordable Italian in a much more professional and inspired atmosphere, with more variety nearby, at Demos’, this seems like a miss.( )

Ordered pizza and salad. Delicious. Our waitress was very friendly. Prices are a bit expensive. Overall, good experience.

Official new yorkers review of a pizza place coming up!!! Haha that’s right I’m giving this place 4 stars. There are a bunch of pros here. Pro: open super late! Cute ukrainian girl working desk! And most importantly, the pizza ain’t too shabby. It’s a personal pie but I really liked it. Good crust, very cheesey. Amazing for 3am Con: I’m a slices kinds guy. But that’s it.

Where should I start I hate giving poor reviews but allow me save you the aggravation I just went through. I ordered 1 one topping 12 inch pizza, a small 6 inch one topping calzone and 2 cans of soda. $ 46.69 Wow ok must be good stuff I think. Nope! Food was delivered cold, the calzone should never be sold by this place ever for they do not know how to make one it was that bad. And as for the pizza well let’s just say Domino’s is better and that’s not an exaggeration. $ 46.69 seriously Italian Kitchen. Very disappointed.

Thought I’d try this new place since it’s very close to where i work, and I have to say I won’t be going back. It took almost 30 minutes to get an order of lasagna(I had to remind them it was supposed to come with bread), and, while it wasn’t bad, it wasn’t worth the wait. The portion for the price was also a bit out of whack in my opinion. There seemed to be confusion at times which table was supposed to get what food. I had to turn down a plate of spaghetti and meatballs at one point, and I saw a few other times where they didn’t seem to know what table food was supposed to go to. No one ever came by to apologize it was taking so long, or to see how I was doing(I was very close to the main counter). I know they’re right downtown, but it seemed pricey to me as well. If they’re going to serve a downtown work lunch crowd they really need to pick up the pace. All in all, I was very disappointed.

My friends and I went downtown the other evening for a little girls night out and discovered the most wonderful place! late night at The Italian Kitchen. I think it was around 2 am that we «stumbled» over this place. Let me tell you, we really weren’t expecting very much at this time of night, but were amazingly surprised to find absolutely delicious pizza served fresh hot and bursting with flavor. The staff was so friendly and we felt rightat home. Since I work downtown, I couldnt resist stopping in with 2 of my coworkers for lunch today. I had the chicken parmesean and it was served with a very tasty garlic knot and I had plenty to take home for later. My coworkers were just as pleased with their meals and I have to say we all highly recommend this restaurant as I cant think of a thi g I did not truly enjoy!

I have to say that I have been looking forward to trying the Italian fare here so that influences my rating a little. I have heard that everything is fresh and tasty, this statement is correct. However, my meal today is lackluster because the ravioli is charred on the bottom and the garlic knot is plain and very dry. I will check back another day to see be able to give a more positive review.

I have never posted a restaurant review, but I need to warn fellow travelers and locals to seek other options. My waitress was the most positive part of my meal. She was very pleasant and attentive. The house salad was good but the blue cheese dressing was watery. The garlic knot was brought to the table completely cold. Though the chicken Parmesan plate was extremely hot as were the cheese and tomato sauce, the chicken was completely cooked but cold. It was obviously cooked before the cheese and sauce were added and the breading was bland. When I told my waitress that the garlic knot was cold, she apologized and said it was her fault. When I told her the chicken was cold, she said if I came back again, she would send things back if they were cold. As a business traveler, I eat many meals on the road, but I won’t eat here again.

I hate to write a bad review or sound mean because I know it can be hard to start a new restaurant, so if you’re the owner reading this please see it as a learning experience. I arrived with 6 people on a lunch break, we practically had to pull tables together and seat ourselves. Long story short our waitress(red haired middle aged woman) had trouble taking our orders. I ordered garlic knots as an appetizer. 2 salads(as meals) came out 5 minutes later as our group appetizer sat getting cold visibly on the window. I had to tell her twice that«I think our garlic knots are ready» before she finally brought them. She then brought another meal, wings which were oddly textured and perhaps miscooked, a few minutes later(which had to be sent back) Me and the other person who ordered a salad, wanted a salad and a cheese slice as our meal. The cheese slices came out 10 minutes after the other persons wings came out. 5 minutes later someone’s canzone came out. After I’ve been sitting here after we all ordered, THIRTY minutes later the two orders of the chicken parmesan sandwiches came out. I had to come back and edit this, my friend took two bites of his parmesan sandwich and stopped eating, apparently the fries are good though. The food was mediocre, my pizza was COLD after sitting on the window, and the service was sub par. BUT the atmosphere is great! I won’t be coming back unless I’m desperate or forced into it. They advertise themselves as a pizzeria, I’m looking around and don’t see any garlic or red pepper flakes in the whole restaurant. To potential patrons– if you’re desperate for a slice of pizza, this place doesn’t have bad prices and is nice to sit in. Just don’t expect much. We had to correct how much we were charged. Don’t buy the garlic knots!!! Way over priced and not good. I’m sure this review made me sound like a snob. I promise I’m not, I like giving the benefit of the doubt, but I had to give my honest opinion. Maybe next time Italian Kitchen! :(

Chicken parm sandwich take out. Fries tasted reheated. Chicken parm in sandwich didn’t taste freshly made for the sandwich. This suspicion was corroborated by the soggy interior of hoagie(possible sign of use of microwave or previous freezing). Promising concept for the location but as currently executed, just a typical«meh» business district restaurant. Frothy Monkey remains as the only solid quick casual restaurant open for dinner in this neighborhood.

The food is delicious. But a new place and was overwhelmed this evening. Maybe the great reviews brought in a lot bigger crowd than expected. We were in no hurry and relaxed and enjoyed our pizza. Service was friendly despite being slow. No wine here just beer.

Amazing pizza! Bubbles on the crust’s edge are just right, the bottom perfectly and lightly blackened, the sauce delectable. Service was friendly and the atmosphere charming. Highly recommended!

Do not let the low profile front of this new business cause you not to walk in and try the food. My Calzone was very good. The crust was just right and the filling very tasty. I will come back to try more on the menu!
