The chips and salsa are great, a little spicy, but delicious and the Queso was amazing. Service was unbelievable. The margaritas were great and the beer was cold. Our server was so funny, attentive and incredibly friendly. The hostess and the food runner were also super friendly. Food and drinks came extremely fast. This was our first time here and we can’t wait to go back!

Tried the Texas Burrito, was full of steak, shrimp, chicken and vegetables… VERY good, and a great helping. Please try this dish if your hungry and wanna be filled to the gills with good food.

What an amazing experience with Tequila’s tonight after an absolutely terrible attempt at dinner with the disgusting Taquiera Azteca. I ordered chicken fajitas and everything was so delicious and fresh. The chicken was so tender it «flaked» like tender white fish and was seasoned perfectly. The fajita veggies were perfectly cooked with incredible flavor. The toppings were all fresh, the guacamole was wonderful. Mmmmm!!! The tortilla chips were extremely fresh and crunchy and their salsa was delicious with a heat that sneaks up on you and gradually builds in intensity. I must also mention that the portion was so, so generous with the prices being incredibly reasonable! This is now a restaurant in my permanent rotation, the best Mexican food in Nashville, without a doubt. Please give it a go, I 110% recommend!

I finally found a local place that measures up to the Mexican food I love from Houston, Texas! The staff here is incredibly friendly. Mario, Oscar, Adolfo… You guys are great! So fast and high quality. I’m a regular, so I have tried most of the menu, which is very diverse. I love everything here! The mole sauce is about the only thing I didn’t love, but the guys who work here love it. I almost always get a beef taco on the side. My favorite cheese enchilada takes me back to my childhood. The deluxe enchiladas are excellent(change the bean to a second cheese, trust me), as are the chimichangas and quesadillas. The fish tacos are not exactly Baja style, but are very unique. They survived the renovation of the shopping center and are in a convenient location near Nashville West. See you there!

After reading Sheena’s awesome review and realizing that Tequilas was 2 minutes from my house, I made it a point to check this place out ASAP. Located in the shopping center with BIG LOTs, it can be a bit difficult to find tequilas. However, it is so worth it. We were immediately greeted and seated on a Thursday night at 6pm. Chips appeared shortly thereafter, and I have to say their chips and salsa are the best Ive had in Nashville. Chips were thin and not oily at all while salsa was hot! Thursday night special was a pitcher of margs for $ 12 which is a steal as one glass is about $ 5. Im looking forward to Tuesdays $ 2.50 margaritas! We ordered the molcajete(steak) and a bowl of the chicken soup. You can definitely tell the stock was home made! My only complaint is that it is not very filling for $ 7.99. The molcajete on the other hand was a steal for $ 13. It came with tortillas and beans/rice on the side. It was piping hot and beautifully displayed. Overall we thought the food was really good with great prices. There are a ton of dishes we want to come back and try! This will certainly be our go– to Mexican place in West Nash or all of Nash at that. Customer service was also fantastic. Highly recommend!

I have been going here for years. It is just OK food not true Mexican but quick and normally good enough. Last night I ordered a Shrimp dish that is very hot because I like hot. This came out and was«burn your face off hot» There was no way I could eat it and enjoy myself. When I said something to the server he just laughed and said«it is suppose to be hot would you like a to go box»? When I told the cashier he was very insulting and wanted to argue with me. They still charged me even thought I did not eat the entrée. Take note* I will NEVER go back, my friends and I have spent a LOT of money here over the years.

Place is much bigger than it looks. Our pitcher of strawberry margaritas didn’t have any alcohol in it – delicious but everyone agreed, no alcohol. Server polite, English was difficult and he didn’t understand our questions. Food came within minutes, incredibly fast. Nice sized portions, delicious and reasonably priced. We will return but won’t order any mixed drinks. Nice atmosphere, clean. Food was wonderful.

I enjoyed our experience here. Our server was very nice and the food came out very quickly. I had a beef enchilada and a beef taco(#12 lunch special — $ 6.99 — awesome price). The quality of the food is standard. The enchiladas were fine but very lightly sauced. The chips were warm but I don’t think they were fresh. The guacamole was moderate as well. You can choose between standard and fresh guac — we chose standard to save a couple buck$. We should have sprung for the better stuff. Overall — I would come here again. Don’t judge the book by its cover. The sign outside is dilapidated and dated. I was pleasantly surprised by the authentic Mexican atmosphere and very pleased with the fantastic and prompt service. Great for a quick lunch, not for a first date.

We happen to live very close to the area, and happened to know a few folks from where we live– so this might be a bias review — - however! The food? First class homemade, the customer service? First class fast. The people? You gotta know em. It’s the place to be. I am proud t be a part of the neighborhood cuz not only is the food amazing, but the folks who work here are down for a personal connection. A++ all the way.

My wife and mother-in-law are authorities on Mexican food, and they concur that this is the best in Nashville. Not only that, but the staff is charming and professional, and they make sure you get a pitcher of their delicious margaritas when it will save you money. The cherry on top? They serve the MOLCAJETE!

Easily and by far the best Mexican food restaurant in West Nashville, and definitely amongst the top in the greater Nashville area! I give Tequila’s credit for balancing true authenticity with Americanized cheap Mexican fare, which is saying a lot considering the dearth of authentic Mexican fare in Nashville. Do not judge this restaurant by its exterior. Tequila’s is located in the corner of a less-frequented strip mall with a bowling alley and a discount home place, but the interior is dimly lit and cozy– great for dates. The waitstaff is excellent and you can tell they take great pride in the quality of their food, which they should.

Service was excellent. My husband and son thought their fajita and burrito was excellent as well. I ordered a spinach burrito which would have been great but the spinach was canned or frozen! Please use real spinach!!!

This place is awesome! This is by far the best Mexican restaurant around. I love their cheese dip! They have good cheese fries! Everything is so good here. I love this place and it’s right around the corner from my house. I can call and order and the food is done rather quickly.

It had been a really long time since I’d eaten at Tequila’s and I gave them another try on Saturday. We ordered cheese dip like any good American, and it was perfect! Good consistency; not too runny, and the flavor was great! I loved the salsa but it was in a really tiny dish and we had to ask for a lot more of it! I love hot salsa, and this one was pretty hot. If you aren’t a fan of heat, this would be too much for you and you should probably ask for a mild salsa. But I loved it! For entrees I ended up ordering off the a la carte menu and had a bean burrito. It was fantastic! The beans were very good and it had the perfect amount of cheese and red sauce on top. Yum! I also tried a drink of the margaritas on the rocks and they were very good and reasonably priced too! Overall it was a good meal and service was fine with the exception of a weird/funny incident with our server. I went to the bathroom after we had paid and was going to meet my friends outside. Our server stopped me from the bathroom and asked where his pens were. I was confused and didn’t pay because my BF picked up the tab. He kept on saying«I need those pens, ask your friends if they took them!!» So I went outside and asked… apparently he had also stopped my BF asking him where his pens were. They were all left in the check holders on the table! Ha. Another staff member came outside not long after and told us not to worry, apparently our waiter thought we stole his pens before looking and it was a big deal. That was a first! Great Mexican joint close to Nashville West, just don’t take the pens!

My second favorite Mexican eating establishment in the west side. The staff servers and bartenders were very considerate an helpful. We heard about this place at another place so decided to stop in and we were so pleased we did. Came on a Saturday lunch. Friend has the burrito, really great red sauce and salsa. Also had the nachos. The red sauce and the considerate servers will keep is coming back. Parking I lot and is easy. Enjoyed this place.

This place has hit the skids! Used to be so good. Now bland, low quality, and hurried. Service tonight was almost as bad as the food. I’m out.

The food was good. If you want hot Mexican ask for it. Otherwise your getting the same food at the grocery store.

I had the flautas and my hubby had a burrito. I’m proud to say that I was the best picker this go around. Typically, I end up liking his meals better than mine. Everyone talked about the cheese dip so we got some. I’m spoiled by oklahoma mexican Restaurants bc queso is like salsa and they just give it to you, but even so, it’s worth getting the cheese dip. About a 25 dollar ordeal for 2 meals and the dip. Something I really liked are the generous portions of guac and sour cream! I’d go again. If I lived here!

There are very few«cheap» Mexican places I like these days. It used to be Las Palmas, but they’ve gone downhill. Nacho’s in Bellevue is decent, and now there is Tequila’s. The standout here is the shrimp. Huge, giant, grilled shrimp can come a myriad of ways. Many times they have a special on the white board. Get it. Since I try to do the no white flour/low carb thing, I usually get the Camarones Cancun which are perfectly grilled shrimp, pineapples, peppers and onions all mixed with their queso– yep– sounds crazy, but it’s delish! Comes with rice. Rice is decent, not a fan of the beans. Tacos are solid. There is a pretty big selection of your standard combo specials and entrees. I wouldn’t say they are«cheap» but it’s reasonably priced and one of our go-to«cheap» Mexican places.
