I’ve never lived at Sterling Court, but I used to go there a lot to see some friends who lived there. Their apartment was really neat: hardwood floors, spacious rooms with a lot of big windows, and a balcony overlooking the green space between Belmont Blvd. and the building. Sterling Court is definitely an older apartment complex, which means that it’s a lot more unique than the average modern apartment. They lived in a three bedroom, one bathroom apartment, which also had a dining room, living room, kitchen, and breakfast nook. The kitchen and bathroom were both small, but the living room was really big and open. Sterling Court’s location right across from Belmont means that a lot of students live there, but I was never disturbed by the other tenants while hanging out there. I think the location is one of the biggest draws of the apartment, actually — Bongo Java, PM, Hillsboro Village, and Harris Teeter are all within walking distance. The parking lot in the back is kind of rough, but I never had trouble finding a spot. One of the roommates had a dog, so I assume pets are allowed. I strongly prefer houses to apartments, but Sterling Courts is the exception because it seems to have all the advantages of a single family house(a private outdoor area, interesting character, and lots of space and natural light) without the upkeep.
