I am not a girlie girl by any stretch of the imagination. I came to this show because I’m a good daughter. It was also my first chance to see the new Music City Center. This obviously is a show that is very geared towards southern living and culture and, of course, women. And, being a rainy day, they were out in droves. Located in the main exhibition hall, I’m pretty sure the exhibits and the number of people there needed the entire venue. And the carpet was bright pink. Not joking. Like, headache inducing pink. It reflected pink off the ceiling. The whole place was in a pink glow. And there were endless exhibits to behold. Jewelry and clothing, food and crafts, vacation giveaways, home improvement, medical centers, ballroom dancing lessons, fashion shows, live music, cooking demos… there was something to see/try/get sold on/buy/discuss/witness all around you from the moment you entered. I absolutely needed the entire afternoon to see it all. There were some really great things to buy and a lot of contests to enter and a lot of southern artisans offering their wares. There was no way to see it all with how packed it was, but it was a fun way to pass a rainy afternoon. Seriously though, that show needed the whole venue to accommodate everyone and everything. And maybe some more snacking options(small food court for so many people). But again, entertaining.

After attending this show, I am of firm belief Southern Women like the following: 1. Dip Mixes(If you have a dried spice mix fetish and a love for sour cream/cream cheese based dips… welcome to Nirvana) 2. Wine Slushies(What pairs more perfectly with your dairy based dip? A super sugary alcoholic drink, certainly… raise your crunk cup up) Now in retrospect, if you are hawking fatty dips and sugary drinks, I don’t think their should be booths upon booths of quick fixes for weight loss. It is kinda an oxymoron. They had pills, drinks, and even hypnosis to help you lose weight. It just seemed crazy that you could try a pill and then drink a supplement drink down the way because most of these products are not FDA approved.(It just seemed super weird) Also, these seemed to be the only people being very liberal with samples. Clothes were a little on the expensive side, but this place is a haven for costume jewelry. If you need some bedazzlement’s, then this is your place. Other than that, I wish a little bit more emphasis was placed on healthy living the right way with more booths or demonstrations with those types of options. Props up for Sun Tan City though having some very cute shirtless men fanning patrons. That was just funny in the long run. Overall, this was worth the $ 10 to enter for the sheer entertainment of the show. Each booth was just like an infomercial. I will more than likely just go back again for this. If I win any of the trips I signed up for… I will increase the star rating.
