This is the most well kept course in middle Tenn. The guys do a great job of cleaning it every year. They move baskets regularly to keep it new and exciting. They have weekly tourneys such as Tuesday Night doubles and Sunday morning Handicaps.

Seven Oaks Park has a good bit to offer. Admittedly, I only frequent here for the disc golf course, and on that note, my husband should probably write the next review with more details from an exceptionally experienced disc golfer! The course has a moderately hilly terrain and is heavily wooded in many areas. Each hole has concrete tees and the course is wonderfully maintained overall by local volunteers. These volunteers also change the positions of the baskets relatively frequently and spread wood chippings & gravel to keep some holes from getting too muddy. I rarely ever see any trash or debris out on the course; there is a trash can at each hole and the regulars seem to make sure their garbage ends up in them! Players have the option to play the 18 hole loop or, for an added bonus, add in the 3-Hole«Inner Course» that starts next to basket 6 and ends at tee 7. There is also a Clint Tournament held every Saturday around 10AM. This will crowd the course quickly but with the exception of the Tournament, there’s usually not too long of a wait at each hole on any given visit. Most holes have seating and even some with tables made from old wooden cable reels, so even if there is a short wait for the preceding group, it’s not a hassle. Final note for those of you who aren’t familiar with the course… The basket at hole 18 doesn’t put you right back at the beginning of the course near where you parked. It’s not too long of a walk, just follow the trail up to the right.

My favorite place for disc golf in Nashville. Well maintained by the locals and challenging woods on your mid-range game. I like that the course starts out in the open… middle is woods and the last couple are open again. The inner course is an extra 3 holes in between the 6th and 7th holes. Nice extra challenge especially if the course is a little crowded. You can play the front 6 and then pick up the extra 3… it brings you right back out to the start of the 7th. Benches and trashcans at most tees. The slabs are in good shape overall. The baskets get moved from time to time, so it stays interesting. Only gripe I have about the place is that the holes aren’t always marked consistently. Some still have their old original maps and others are slowly getting sponsored, laminated maps. DONOT miss out on this course if you are in the area.

Seven Oaks has a lot to go for it, and not just the disc golf. There’s a very nice playground, several little league type baseball fields, lots and lots of open space, and even some tennis courts. Over the winter, it’s been very peaceful, though I assume it’s less silent during the summer months(and rightly so). Get your kids out to the park if you’re anywhere near Murfreesboro Rd., and get teens out of the house with the new rage, disc golf. Overall, a very nice place.

I have to admit that I’ve seen very little of the park other than the disc golf course, but that in itself is enough to come here. The course is quiet varied and really pretty when they clean it up. They have 18 holes that range in skill, some in open areas, some in the woods. I prefer to play the back nine because its mostly wooded and generally less crowded. On nice days this place gets utterly packed so be prepared to wait. If you’re not into frisbee golf, there are a lot of other things to do here. Theres quite an extensive playground and several sports fields and even some easy nature trails. Its a great place to bring a picnic and relax for awhile, if you don’t mind the noise pollution from the overhead air traffic. If you’re not familiar with this area it can be a little hard to find but you can get to it from Briley Parkway, Murfreesboro Pike or Donelson Pike. Its smushed randomly in the middle of a residential neighborhood right next to the airport.

In between Murfreesboro and Gallatin Pike this little park in nestled in the ‘burbs of East Nashville. It doesn’t have anywhere for you to grill out so you have to bring your own, but there is a nice little section of benches and covered benched areas for a picnic, and lots of open grassy places for the same. That is if you beat the Frisbee players to it. That’s what the majority of this park is: Frisbee players. I have seriously never seen so many. There’s a baseball field that I can only assume little league games happen at, and perhaps the local schools use. There’s lots of room for parking, but with it’s primarily a big hill, so good luck with your sports on that thing. I love the nature trail, it reminds me of the ones where I went to college, trampled little dirt paths, signs, and all. I love this park.
