This is the greatest sushi I have ever eaten. We have been to dozens of Sushi places in and around Nashville, and Samurai tops them all! Service is always great and makes sure we’re taken care of. I will continue to eat here, and suggest friends to eat here as well!

I will never go back here because of the rudeness of the employees. My sister and I walked in and someone said it will be a minute before we could be seated. We were waiting and then a family comes in and are immediately seated. If they had asked us if the family could have been seated before us we would have been okay with it. We then find two seats at the bar and after fifteen minutes no one even acknowledges us. I reached out to the servers and was ignored. We left and went to Osake across the street and it was actually way better than any sushi I’ve ever had at Samurai.

This place is amazing. The best sushi I have found in Nashville. I always get the ChooChoo roll and the Alaska Roll and it’s always fresh and delicious. This is as authentic as it gets in Tennessee and you must not miss it. Only downside is the street parking in Ellison.

The exterior of the restaurant shows its age but the sushi itself is excellent. The texture of the rice blended so well with the fish, it only complimented each bite.

The sushi was a variety at best, the décor sucked. Not a place to take a date. I was surprised it had a 4 star rating

Pretty good sushi, especially for Nashville. I stopped by for a quick dinner and ordered a green salad, salmon avocado roll and a Mr. Daniels roll. The fish was fresh and came in generous portion sizes, and I really enjoyed how soft the rice was. It did seem a bit bland though. I prefer Osake to samurai, mostly for its specials during happy hour but samurai is definitely one of the better sushi restaurants on this side of TN.

Great quality fresh fish, incredibly fast service, healthy portion sizes, creative and classic options available on the menu. We ordered a ton and it came out immediately. My favorites were the Iron Lady and Dr. Bob. If you’re looking for authentic Japanese, this is probably as close as you’re going to get in Nashville.

The sushi here was decent, but not stellar as I was led to assume. I ordered the regular combo meal with tuna, white fish, salmon, and a small assortment of other fish with an appetizer of miso soup. Nothing stood out to me as especially distinct or significant, other than the rice used was slightly too wet. However, service was lightning fast, and there was no line on a Thursday night at 5pm.

Not an abundance of great sushi in Nashville, but Samurai is helping that. The fish is fresh and the rolls are a healthy size. I had the Crazy Monkey roll with a green salad. The 8 piece roll came loaded with fish and a glaze of eel sauce. The salad was good but the ginger dressing was a little overwhelming. Won’t stop me from getting it again though. The restaurant itself is a quaint and has a great feel for a sushi restaurant l. Perfect for a date or to come with a group of friends.

I’m glad I found this place because they have lunch deals that you can’t beat in Nashville. During lunch, they have lunch deals where you can get two rolls with soup for $ 10. My go to simple roll is always spicy tuna and I thought theirs was good. One thing I don’t like about sushi rolls at other places is that they put too much rice and theirs was just the right amount. Parking: this is the only bad thing about this place. You have to park on the street and it’s difficult to find parking at times. They’re also meter parking spots so make sure you have quarters with you. This place is simple, cozy, good service, and good food. Give it a try!

Great little sushi restaurant. Super cozy. Great service. I had the Oops Roll and Tuna Sashimi. Both were incredible and came out quickly.

Not the greatest but I guess I’ll take it being in the middle of nowhere. First of rice is too crumbly, although seasoned better than average for America. Fish is cut too big for the portions of nigiri and in a rectangular manner which isn’t great, also portly prepared and no wasabi under the fish.

This was surprisingly good. Basic and simple. To the point. The air was out in the back room but it was okay. At the end of the meal an older lady rushed us out. We were celebrating my birthday. This is the same lady(she had a bob haircut) when we asked for the bathroom couldn’t be bothered to use her voice to give directions. Other than her nasty disposition I love this place and will back.

Our new favorite sushi place. Love eating at the sushi bar. We eat sushi 4x a month and really enjoyed our dinner. I think the prices are very reasonable. Best ginger salad dressing I’ve ever had!

My wife has been to Samurai a few times with work friends, but this was my first time going in. Normally I’ll get way too much sushi. Today, however, I held myself back quite well. I got a Palm Beach Roll and an Alaska Roll. I absolutely loved the mango and kiwi on the Palm Beach, and tempura just makes everything better. The Alaska Roll was also great, mostly because it was so simple: just avocado and fresh salmon. Samurai gave us great, quick service. It’s really close to my office, so I’ll definitely be back.

Great sushi! Fast service. The ginger dressing in the salad wasn’t watered down! Rolls were tasty and well presented.

Very small, quaint place. I did not care much for the sushi. I came here for lunch with a friend from work. The service was good. The lunch special price was good. They were voted Best Sushi In Nashville a couple years ago. Personally I would rather pay w little more and go to Nama, or pay the same and go to Sushi Train. Probably wouldn’t go back.

I went to Samurai Sushi and I wouldn’t say it was bad, but it definitely wasn’t incredible. It was pretty good, but I think a little pricey for the rolls. My friend and I got the Volcano Roll/Wasabi Roll and both of us thought it was good but not out of this world. I will say though, the green salad with iceberg lettuce and ginger dressing– yum!!!

This place is my favorite sushi location in the… wait for it… COUNTRY!!! I was visiting a friend in Nashville and she suggested we come here for good sushi. Boy was she right! The location is kind of unassuming and its certainly nothing fancy inside, just darn delicious food. I still dream of the ginger dressing on the salad and can’t wait to make my way back here to enjoy that and any number of their yummy rolls. Samurai will be my first stop when I’m back in Tennessee.

I am a spent ronin, balding, emaciated, with the fire in me about to extingush. I am one without a master. Or a slave. In my days, I was the wind and fire. I was the air that people couldn’t see. I was the fear in the stomachs of the rabble when I whooshed through the streets, my review-katana in the air, chasing unspeakable eateries, and slaughtering worthless restaurants. That was then. This is now. I am old. Aye! I’ve sired a few ruts here and there, and they don’t even write me, but I have no one except my stomach to care for me. It was a cold January evening when I saw the signs for Samurai Sushi. At this point I had gone a full 6 hours without any food, and a full 6 months without any sushi, and a good 33 years without any meat in me. I was famished. My stomach growled. I growled back at it. I entered the inn, and a kind old lady stared at me for a second longer than needed. My hand reached for my sword. She bowed and welcomed us in(some peeps came along). She presented me a papyrus with the days’ fares. I scanned it for something that didn’t have any meat. There were precisely 4: the tamago, the edmame, the miso soup and the vegetarian roll. Out of about thirty different rolls, I was given a choice of precisely one. My eyes narrowed, and my head went down. I pulled my sword half out, when the kind lady came with glasses of sake. She saw my dilemma, and quickly said that she could change any roll to anything that’d suit my desires. I changed the seafood roll without the squid, fish or roe, and instead added asparagus and Japanese cucumber. Best goddang roll ever, especially with wasabi. The tamago reminded me of my mother’s eggs, which is funny because my mom is a strict vegan, and never fed me any eggs. But so good were they that deep inside me a string loosened, and I broke down into my sushi plate into a bucket of tears. The chef came out, and said, «There! There!» and gave me a hard candy. I’d go back there in a heartbeat.
