Obviously they have the strongest and best margaritas in town! It’s standard Mexican fare with little east-Nashville flair. I love that they have good vegan/vegetarian options and over-all healthy options for those nights when your trying to be a little healthy. It’s usually packed so plan on waiting but they can get you in and out pretty good most nights. Service is always good.

We loved this place. Stumbled across it while visiting easy Nashville. Margs were delicious and the food was good. I had the grilled fish tacos… as good as it gets!

Rosepepper has won the award for«Best Margaritas in Nashville» and that’s definitely a large part of the appeal. Their frozen ones are good, but on the rocks are MUCH better in my opinion. They’re strong and tasty; get a pitcher for the table for good times! If the weather is good, strongly consider sitting on the patio. The prices are nice and the food is good, and the service is fine, so I’ll definitely be back!

Went for lunch around 130pm with my boyfriend. The place just got done with its lunch rush so parking wasn’t so bad. Street parking FYI. Love that they have three different types of salsa; mild, green chile, and hot! Hot is definitely hot salsa. They never asked if we wanted more chips when we got done, but that’s okay. We also got the queso with the fried flour tortillas, so very good! I got their lunch combination; I choose the beef taco and beef enchilada with rice and beans. They were average tasting, very Americanized. My boyfriend got the chile verde and the street tacos. No one has chile verde around here so he was very happy they sold it and was surprisingly happy it was good. Tacos were so good! Décor was super cute and funky, will come back for sure.

Sat for an hour just to get water and chips which took 30 min. The server was very inattentive. Have heard great things bout this place but had a very bad experience. The hostess was great, that’s all though. Will definitely not go back and would not recommend.

They have really good to go boxes for your left overs. But then the food arrived at the table as left overs… basically all our dishes were brown goo covered in yellow goo… even though we ordered very different dishes. My over-priced Margarita arrived after I had finished my dinner… but then so did our three year old’s dinner, so in that way it was pretty well timed. The Margarita was advertised as and called the ‘first Margarita’, which it was not. It was not even very good, just yellow with not enough ice or salt served in a high ball glass… two mouthfuls of liquid with no buzz to follow for $ 12. Everyone but no one in particular was our waiter. When we got a check it was not itemized, just a pretty high total for three meals. So I was going to write a clever review but I am too depressed about the time I wasted in this dirty, poorly managed, over priced, Imodium required tourist trap. Mexico should be embarrassed!

Great patio area! Really recommend it for the ambiance if a patio is something you’re looking for. Love that you get three salsas with your chips for free! Let my fiancé have the spicy stuff and let me enjoy the more mild flavor one. Margaritas were really yummy as well.

We were quoted a 25 min wait when we got there and ended up waiting over an hour and a half to get seated. For a party of 7, one member’s food was«lost», and another’s order was wrong. I ordered the Sonora Style enchiladas, and they were mediocre at best. The pork was tough and dry, and the rice and beans were bland. Between the slow service after we were seated and the quality of the food, I probably won’t be back when there are so many other Mexican restaurants in the area.

I love Mexican food and I LOVE margaritas! Rose pepper has hands down the best margarita I have ever had. Seriously amazing. The guac and chips are divine and the outdoor patio is great for groups day or night! The shrimp Caesar salad is great and the grilled fish tacos are my go to. My husband loves the burritos(be warned they are huge!) and the servers are always awesome! I cannot say enough good things about this place! One thing I can complain about is that they do not serve unlimited chips and salsa :-/

The atmosphere could be cool but the fact that it’s run down and the up keep is sloppy hurts. The food is less then par. The guacamole is 9 dollars and seems like store bought type filled with preservatives and that slimy texture. The tacos were ok. The top shelf ritas could use some OJ. The staff was extremely inattentive. It’s location keeps its in business. I’d pass on this places.

I have been eating here for years but after last night I won’t be back. The server was rude and three of our four orders were wrong. I was charged for extra items that he never delivered to the table. When we told him our orders were wrong, he said sorry the kitchen is busy. He didn’t offer to replace it and walked away while we’re were asking him if he could bring us the correct orders. He never returned with the correct orders, to fill our waters, or check on our table. Only to leave the check. I regret providing him a 20% tip because his service was terrible. My friend, whose birthday we were celebrating, asked for no cheese because of a food allergy and they delivered her meal covered in melted cheese, charged me for the meal, and did not bring the correct meal. She was unable to eat her birthday dinner! There is also only one bathroom, and they directed me to use a port-a-potty. There was no running water outside at the«hand washing station». After putting soap on my hands, I had to then use my drinking water to rise then off, or wait 20-minutes in line to use the bathroom. The cooks and serves were using the disgusting port-a-pots and returning inside without washing their hands. I felt sick after seeing that. I will not be back, nor recommend this place to anyone. The food isn’t that great anyway. I am extremely disappointed.

I’d give it 4.5 stars… When planning a weekend trip to Nashville I messaged a couple of friends for food recommendations and then cross-referenced them with Unilocal.I’m really intense most days, lol. This specific restaurant was a two-friend recommendation, and who can pass on Mexican cuisine? First, we arrived about 7, and there was significant wait. We were lucky that we were meeting the other half of our party who had already been waiting for about 20 – 30 minutes, so we only had to stick out about 10 – 15 minutes. We posted up at the bar and ordered a few margaritas. I got the skinny margarita($ 9) and my sister got a fruity frozen marg($ 9) as well. Both were fantastic. The bar also gives you chips and salsa to hold you over. You get 3 complimentary salsa’s(hot, medium and Verde). All were great. but I preferred the spicy one:) The restaurant was filled with happy hungry people. People did leave because the wait was too long, but from the feel of it we were at a very popular Mexican restaurant. After being seated our server approached us in a timely manner, asked if we good on drinks and we placed an appetizer order for queso and guacamole. Man, those were great decisions. Both come served with what almost seems like fried tortillas. whatever they are are great with the dips. The queso was to die for and the guac was right up there too. Needless to say, they were great choices. For my main course I ordered the tacos Al Carbon, which seems to be a popular dish. I asked for my meat to be well done, which they did. The tacos were perfect. I tried something new… where I put the taco fixins’ on top of the rice and beans, and MAN, that was a good choice! Everything from the drinks to the tacos were absolutely delicious. I would go back to Rosepepper. maybe not right at 7, but it was worth the wait. I waited a lot in Nashville lol… is that a normal thing? Or did I just want to eat at all the hot spots? Ah, good ol’ Nashville, can’t beat the grub.

Great dinner and do yourself a favor and get the avocado fries with avocado sauce. The sauce is to die for! The chips and salad are also very good and they give you three types of sauce. On a Sunday night this place was busy! It looks like a great hang out place for the locals. Our food was very good as we got the combination plate to share. There were plenty of vegetarian options as well as meat options. Go here but get there early cause you may have to wait.

Rosepepper is another East Nashville restaurant that I just don’t understand the hype. I’ve gone quite a few times to meet others who are adamant that this is the best Mexican restaurant in Nashville and each time I just think it’s just okay. Maybe I’m not cool enough to get the East Nashville hype and I definitely must not have the East Nashville taste buds. The reason I gave this 3 stars is because the margaritas are not made with mixers. Mixers always give me stomach aches so I’m happy to see that this is handmade. You can really tell by the fact that the margaritas are clear instead of electric green! The margaritas are also pretty strong so you get your moneys worth. I see the hype about the margaritas! On my last visit I got cheese enchiladas and chicken flautas, both were just okay. Nothing outstanding, no distinguishing flavors, just kind of bland. The salsa trio was nice because it gives everyone the opportunity to try different salsas but the chips were pretty bland as well. The atmosphere is eclectic, the service is hit or miss. The hostess was none to friendly but our server was very friendly and attentive. I will go back if people want to but I don’t think I would pick it out of the plethora of good restaurants around.

Ok, so the margaritas here are voted best in town and have officially turned me away from being a frozen margarita only drinker. As for food, order the Chile Verde Quesadilla, its a house favorite and it has impressed everyone I have taken here, 3 times in the last two weeks!

I am super annoying about Mexican places… I’m one of those that says, «But I used to live in Texas…» and turns up my nose. The thing is that I personally prefer TEX-MEX to MEXICAN and the places here are all MEXICAN. So with that in mind I went off to Rosepepper that everyone deems one of the best in town. Holy shit, this place gets packed out! It is a pretty large place and it was packed. However, we still managed to be seated immediately although in the very back of the covered patio on a very cold night. I just left my jacket on and it wasn’t bad. First, the drinks. I am no tequila expert. I just like my margaritas top shelf, with extra liquor on top, and no rot-gut tequila please. So we ordered one from the menu at the very top end of the $$ and the waitress suggested one that was equally as good but less in price. Economical. However, I would say… I’ve had better margaritas. I wonder if people wax poetically about the specialty margaritas or something? I didn’t see anything about it that was better or worse than other margaritas. I will try others on the menu though– this is a challenge that’s fun to work through. Next, the food. The chips were great and the spicier of the salsas they brought out really had the heat — reminded me of Texas for sure. Then I got the chili verde which is pork simmered in a caliente chili verde sauce. OOOOH! Muy bueno! MEGUSTA! I know it isn’t Tex-Mex, but the heat reminded me of it and I was a very happy camper by the time this meal was done. Service was efficient and not overly friendly. But the place was packed so I doubt there was time to do more than just crank out the food/drinks and checks. As long as I got all three I was fine. I will definitely be back to Rosepepper sometime when I get over to East Nashville so I can try some other items. And I want to try the patio when it is warm… then I can sample a bunch of margaritas and see which I think is the best!

This was my first time here, and I thought that it was a decent Mexican restaurant. The hostesses and the servers were very friendly, and the service was good. They bring out 3 different kinds of salsa, a pretty spicy one, and two mild ones. The salsa was pretty good, but nothing spectacular. I ordered chicken fajitas and those were your basic fajitas. In my opinion they weren’t as flavorful as fajitas that I’ve had elsewhere, but they weren’t bad. The portion was big enough to split between two people. I liked the atmosphere here, there is indoor as well as outdoor seating so there is a lot of seating. Overall I would come back here if I was in the neighbourhood, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to stop by.

Listen, I’m from Texas — so I’m a harsh judge of Mexican food. I was very hesitant to go here, but the place we wanted to go across the street had a 30 minute wait and that wasn’t going to work for us. So we opted to give this place a go. It surprised me and was actually OK. Was it the best Mexican food I’ve had — not even close, but for Mexican food in Tennessee — it wasn’t too bad really. It was actually very fresh, but the spice level was low! The chips and salsa were on point. I like the spicy salsa the most and then the Verde next. I had the veggie tamales and the masa was fairly dry and flavorless. The stuffing was pretty good however and the sauce was certainly needed to enhance the flavor. The black beans were very good, but again the rice was just OK. My friends said she liked her spinach enchiladas. The patio was huge and our waitress was very pleasant. Overall decent place, but the food didn’t wow this Texan.

I have only heard amazing things about Rosepepper and I do always love what they have posted on the marquee. We have lived here for 9 months and for whatever reason, we just went for the first time last night. It was raining outside, but the hostess was able to immediately seat us on the covered patio at 6pm on a Friday. Since everyone raves about the margs, my husband and I split a pitcher of the house version. Sadly the happy hour prices were not offered but I think these were like $ 24.50(50¢ added for fresh limes). They were really good and not from a pre-made mix. And nice n’ strong. The chips are accompanied by a trio of salsas that were all good. My husband’s dish came with guacamole on the side and it was very good as well. I’m really picky about guac. It’s either too ripe and I can’t eat it or it’s fresh and I can’t stop. I didn’t stop until his was gone. I also liked that the condiments were served in tiny fried tortilla bowls. Ate most of that too. I opted for the grilled fish tacos(duh) and husband ordered the veggie burrito. Fish tacos were alright but sadly they just use bagged corn tortillas and don’t make their own. Halfway through the second taco, I had to eat with a fork because it was falling apart. I really liked their beans. Rice was really bland so I didn’t eat more than a bite or two. Husband said his burrito was good but kind of bland and not great. All in all, I wasn’t super impressed with most of the food, but some of it was really good. I will probably go back for happy hour margaritas and to try something else on the menu. Ps The interior is really divey and cute!

I came here for my best friend’s birthday dinner and was pleasantly surprised by what a cute place it was. I feel like in Nashville you come across a lot of cookie cutter Mexican restaurants(Las Palmas, Nachos, etc.) But Rosepepper is different. They office am ambiance like none other and a non traditional menu. So I am all about the cocktails, so I’ll start with those! I ordered a sugar cane mojito. It was the best mojito I have ever had! Plus it came with a stick of sugar cane in it, which was fun for the whole family to try. Then I had a mango margarita. It was a little sweeter than I expected, but was overall a delicious drink. My friend had the traditional marg, which has one several«Nashville Awards». I took a sip and it was wonderful. If I was just rating this place on cocktails, I would give it 5 stars. So the two years of my life that I didn’t live in Nash, I was going to school in dallas. During that time I fell in love with street tacos. I have been looking for a place with great street tacos in Nashville, and finally found some here! They were absolutely delicious! They came with rice and beans, which were just mediocre. So overall, if you want decent food and wonderful cocktails, I recommend Rosepepper!
