Stay away from Cerrito(I made a huge mistake of buying a Groupon. He’s now working off a different location in Green Hills). He has no idea what he’s doing, I strongly doubt he has any training. He doesn’t even have any professional brushes, cosmetics or instruments. It’s a joke that he’s working as a stylist. Luckily it’s just hair, it will grow back.

Almost identical experience from the last review! Although, I went first thing in the morning, so no wait. Except for Cerrito to go to the beauty supply store and buy my cheap color. Which he then showed me I was a 4N and that he used 10 volume. As if that was something unique. I have been to Sally’s, many times, bought the same color and done it myself many times, w/o a lick of training. Does he not realize 4N is a typical color ppl buy off the shelf? Then he acted like using a «brush technique» to apply color was unusual. Even though I told him I had colored my hair for many years. I also got a cold shampooing, my wet hair roughly and painfully yanked out of my head, and the one clip he used he jabbed into my scalp– I thought it was bleeding. My hair was brown. Exactly the same as when I do it at home. But he bragged on what a great color he had given me. And then told me he put some great conditioners in it($ 6.99 from Sally’s). Ironically, he told me not to wash it daily to be more gentle on my hair, and to use a paddle brush. After tearing it apart, yanking the tangles out wet. As far as the cut, he suggested something and I said light layers and not to cut the 3 inches off he wanted. So, he probably cut 2 ½. He just brushed down my hair, then held the ends thru his fingers and snipped it, maybe in 5 or 6 sections once around my head. Took him 5 minutes. But he bragged on his excellent technique. That a child could do. The most unprofessional, terrible hair cutting experience ever. I could have done better, and I’m not a hair stylist. He talked incessantly about his music, life, asked inappropriate questions, and would loose track of what he was saying a repeat himself a lot. Once my hair recovers, I’ll go elsewhere to get it fixed. Don’t waste your time or money!

This place is astonishingly bad. You would think otherwise due to the location and the prices. I purchased a Groupon for a haircut and partial highlights and I should have reviewed before I purchased! I made the appointment and was told by Cerrito, the stylist that was nominated(I suppose) to do my hair, that he had opened his book up just for me and didn’t usually work that late but he really wanted to get me in. My appointment was made for 6PM. Upon arriving(10 minutes early) he greeted me and showed me to a seat and rack of magazines while his client was waiting with her head in the shampoo bowl. This place is TINY but not homey. I was so close to the shampoo bowl that I was getting sprinkled with water while he shampooed her and yet I was seated so near the front door that if anyone walked through the door, I would have to move my arm and then my feet to allow them to enter. He informed me that he always double booked his clients and that he would be finished in about an hour. When I was finally in his chair, it was 7:20PM. He talked non-stop while cutting and styling the client before me about how he had this new hot technique called«Balayage» that was a French hair painting technique… Talking so that ALL could hear, not worried about how the client was feeling or talking to her at all, while I could see her wincing from the clips that he was jabbing into her scalp. He chatted with the owner(who was very polite to me) about vacation time and then dogged other salons in Nashville for their techniques.(Come on, really?) He talked a BIG game inserting Spanish and Italian phrases of endearment and talked about his singing career non-stop. He sings country music in English AND Spanish and is from Cincinnati? While all of that was only a small annoyance, the fact that he talked such a lot about what a master of hair he was but then my haircut was super choppy(a master could have softened the harsh lines after a few snips and seeing the result.) My highlights were brassy, spotty and there were hotspots at my roots! It matters not to me where you went to Cosmetology school, who you studied under or that you can call me «young lady» or ‘darling’ in Spanish and Italian. I care about the end result and the way I’m treated. He used Kaleidocolor which is made by Clairol and can be purchased at Sally’s Beauty Supply. I went to Cosmetology school in 2003 – 2004 and that was what we students had to use to practice on our doll heads with. I’m guessing he used it because it’s cheap and maybe he assumed I wasn’t special enough to be a potential client since I wasn’t dressed up?(It was a rainy February school night and I had on comfortable layers and rain-boots.) After he saw the orangey tone of my highlights, he I guess assumed that he wasn’t getting a tip and immediately stopped talking his game and stopped calling me ‘Sei bellissima’. He washed my head so roughly that my head and neck kept BOUNCING off of the shampoo bowl rim! After the ice cold water shampoo and rinse, He sat me up and BRUSHED my wet hair so hard that I had to cling to the arm rests to keep steady. Anyone who has ever been to Cosmetology school gets it drilled into your head from day one, NOT to EVERBRUSH wet hair. You comb gently with a wide-tooth comb from the ends up to release tangles. It was now 9:00PM and his ride was there.(I understand that he was tired and neither of us wanted to be there that late but I didn’t double-book or choose to make the appointment so late to begin with.) If you want to know how well someone does hair, take a look at their past work. This poor woman(his ride) had fried, brassy tones and a very dated hair style while her clothing seemed very stylish… At least she was happy with her hair… She made sure I knew that Cerrito ALWAYS does her hair. I will give him one sincere complement, he styles hair beautifully! If you want a ‘do for date night, by all means look up Cerrito for a lovely style. Beyond that however, if you’re too young to want a roller set or to be dazzled by Liberace tunes and style then please find another place. This place is ridiculous, a travesty. I’ve had better cuts and color from Cosmetology students their first three months in. I should have saved my money and done the color myself.

I have been to see carol 2 times for a mani/pedi. She does a great job. All the staff greets me when I walk in and is very polite. It’s a place where i can relax. Just wish all the set up was in a spa pedicure seat.

I purchased a Groupon for myself and my mom for a mani/pedi. I was so disappointed and even more so to see that Groupon is offering another mani/pedi deal from them right now. The area for mani/pedi service is up a staircase that I was very concerned about my 65 year old mom with knee problems climbing. At the time, they only had one spa type chair and I had to sit in an office chair and place my feet in a foot bath contraption that you would purchase for your home. The tech doing my nails had to sit on the floor in order to complete my pedicure and because of this my toenails ended up being cut crooked/at a slant. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone! In fact, I had purchased two Groupons at the time and let my second go to waste.

went for a groupon mani/pedi. the place is located in what looks like old condo units, so it is kinda small and the mani/pedi is upstairs. carol did a good job on my nails and the experience was good. they also just installed massaging chairs to sit in while you get your nails done too. can’t speak for the stylist — didn’t go for my hair.

This place is shockingly bad. They did my Mom’s hair and it is RED? She wanted dark blonde with some white high lights? It got even worse over the next day or two. We called them and asked to get it redone or to get our money back. They refused both??? It is a cramped little dump of a place too, should have known! It was an experiment gone wrong!!! How rude are they when they know it looks awful. It was not cheap either. I would never step foot in this place ever again. I suggest you don’t either. If you do, enter at your own risk.

Another Groupon bust. I went for a mani/pedi: the outcome was okay-ish, the experience was not.
