Smoking is allowed unfortunately. It’s disgusting and bothersome. I couldn’t enjoy the predators game because of it. I won’t come back to this place. It’s time for nashville to limit smoking to outdoors only.

Great place to watch a game, friendly service (don’t expect table service at the upper level patio). The cigarette smoke on the patio was slightly disconcerting. Food was good, overall a good value.

Service is hit or miss. «Chicago» bar with no Chicago baseball on TV, and a curious Chicago hot dog with cheese and slaw? Steamed sandwiches? Idk. I had panini and it was a mildly warm Oscar Mayer meatwich. Beer was cheap.

A great place to grab a beer with friends! We stopped by at around 7pm on a Saturday and found seats right away. I haven’t experienced it during peak hours of the night but the large patio makes it ideal for getting drinks before dinner.

Dan was super nice! My mom and step dad came to see him almost every day they were in town. from Illinois so we all had that bond. I was surprised to see all the Cubs and bears stuff in there. (I’m a Cardinals fan– but I love the Bears)
They have great happy hours! Right behind the embassy suites, which was were we were staying! It is not far from the main strip, but its a different type of crowd which is nice.
Only reason why it is getting a 4 is because they allow smoking… gross!

3.5 yeah it’s a bit loud… But it’s a bar! I have visited this bar a number of times and it is becoming a true favorite of mine.
I have repeatedly been impressed with how fast their bartenders work here, they seem to always have a packed bar but you still can expect to be waited on in a perfectly reasonable time.
Fun fact: One of the few that was open during the latest polar/​freeze/​shut down of most of Nashville!
Tip: They also have a Red Door in Deston, FL.

This spot has a warm spot in my heart. When we saw cubs and bears memorabilia in here I fell in love. A Chicago bar in Nashville, it felt like we were back at home, well not really. Red Door is another college type bar in the strip of Mid town bars. The layout is pretty weird and create narrow bars, but it is different. It kinda of feels like your at a house party like Rebar down the street. Overall decent time.

Don’t come to Red Door if you’re a law abiding citizen trying to have a good time on your birthday. To explain– I had to get a new ID earlier in the week since it was about to expire because of my upcoming birthday. I went and got a new ID, but in Tennessee, they give you a temporary paper ID until the new one comes in the mail. When I went to Red Door and tried to use my new, current, government issued ID, they wouldn’t have it. I tried to explain my circumstance to the doorman, but he wouldn’t listen and made me leave. In short, it was a terrible way to be treated on my birthday, especially when I did nothing wrong. I don’t recommended this place for their poorly thought out policies alone. It is obviously a testament to their terrible customer service.

Love this place! Cannot get enough of the happy hour specials and the great service. We come almost weekly and the only downside is the noise level can get loud. Highly recommend checking this place out!

The service is pretty terrible, I mean you never really have a high expectation with a dive bar like this but with so many bars in the area you would think they would at least try…

This place is off the main strip so in the off season it’s not very busy. The bouncer was nice. He poked fun at us for being Californians.
For some odd reason, when my husband ordered 3 drinks at the bar, the bartender gave him 6 (two of each). Then charged $ 17 for all of it. If this is the normal service, it’s pretty generous :-)

This place was fantastic. I love a bar with character and this place has oodles of it. Sure, there were a host of ‘bros’ at the bar… it’s near a college (read: Fuckin’ duh) but I felt that the service, aesthetic and fun time vibe of the place cancelled out the young 20 somethings doing what they do. In Portland this would be described as an upscale dive bar. Giant patio, occasional ‘meat market’ feel, red lights and good pours. Thoroughly enjoyed my drink here and if I was a local would definitely return.

I don’t know what all the poor reviews are about. Matt and I went here on Friday night and had a blast. The crowd changes drastically as the night wears on and thats the reason for the four stars. Well that and the fact that a crowd of drunken bridesmaids and another group of drunk frat boys were fighting over our table and who was getting it next.
Paige our server was a bad b*tch of a server. She was on point.
Food was ok nothing to write home about but to be honest, who goes to a bar for the food. Overall a great experience.

Look up there little video on YouTube. Denied entry to disabled vet for having service dog. I will not let you for get this little mistake. Nor will our brothers and sisters.

Absolutely fantastic food! They have happy hour specials (2 for 1) on so many different drinks. The atmosphere is authentic Chicago style. Their food is excellent both taste wise and price wise. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and there is ample room within the bar. Definitely enjoyed this place, and were I a local, I would definitely come back. I recommend checking this place out if you’re visiting Nashville!

Good because you can smoke inside while you enjoy your adult beverage. Not really my scene though. One of those places that sees a TON of traffic, usually too crowded, etc.

Rude, inappropriate and unprofessional security staff. Drinks are great, but I’ve had horrible experiences here.

Big disappointment. I heard this was a great Chicago atmosphere bar I’m visiting from Chicago in Nashville. I wanted to stop by and watch the Hawks game. The bar tender girl was more concerned about her cellphone than the customers waiting for a drink!

I like it! A very low-​key & unpretentious set-​up. Gets very crowded on a Friday or Saturday night.
THE SETUP
This was a fun meet-​up point to get some drinks and to socialize.
* There is a very extensive bar area, which is good because waiting for servers can be an issues — since apparently they have preferences as to the groups of people they want to serve — so it was just better to go to the bar and get our own drinks.
* There is also an extensive patio area which was really nice to hang out in.
VARIED MUSIC FORMAT
It was a lot of fun listening to the virtual DJ mix the music between country, pop and rock. The place just lit up with energy when Def Leppard’s «Pour Some Sugar On Me» blasted through the establishment. For one brief moment I felt like I was back at my Fraternity’s Frat parties in Washington State (even here in Nashville).
THE PATIO
Our preference was to be on the patio since there were smokers in our group. And once we pretty much did our own «self-​serve» in acquiring own drinks, things were good.
«GET SOME MORE CHAIRS FOR THE PATIO?»
The annoying thing about the patio is not that there were insufficient tables — because there were plenty — but a significantly insufficient number of chairs. It got to a point were we tried to scavenge for chairs in non-​patio areas just to get people in our group a seat.
And it’s not like people were hoarding chairs either — each table could easily sit 6 – 7 chairs with people in them, which was the average — but most of the people were standing around our table and adjacent tables, and there were 2 – 3 tables in our area where there were no chairs, because the other tables needed them for their patrons.
THE LOWDOWN
A decent enough bar with reasonable drink prices and to allow for good conversation, and has the potential for getting far better ratings with better customer service and more chairs, just sayin…

The downside: my prescription Ray Bans were stolen here. Good luck to Mr./Mrs. Sticky Fingers in making use of them.
The upside: I met the most adorable southern boy from Mississippi. I’m pretty sure we’re going to get married and have twangy, Olé Miss-​attending children. Yes, I’m 99% positive.
Other upsides:
The ventilation deserves 5 stars. If you don’t know this already, smoking is permitted in Nashville bars. Soooo 2009. Good news is, Red Door Saloon is open to the outdoors allowing a bit of fresh air to get in. Quite frankly, it was the saving grace for my delicate Circle City lungs.
Other upsides: from what I can remember, the bathrooms were survivable for a packed bar on a Saturday night. A bit on the clusterfuck side, but survivable nonetheless.
Other upsides: the people in this town couldn’t be any sweeter. They truly give Hoosier Hospitality a run for its money.
