Thai phooket(trailer Thai) by that stadium is a thousand times tastier. Skip this place. Flavorless food, cruddy ambience, patchy service.

Based on other reviews and advice from friends, I tried this place but grabbed my food to go. The service was ok speed wise, not very friendly, but I wasn’t there to make friends, just to grab some chow. I like Thai food and was in the area to visit friends just a few blocks away. Noodles were not very good, veggies were not cooked enough and not much flavor in anything. Next time in the area, will be going elsewhere.

We live around the corner from Pad Thai and were craving Thai one night. Against the advice of other Unilocalers, we decided to try this place for takeout. Fail. Here’s why. I expect every restaurant has the occasional order go out with a foot-long hair as a free add-in. We were grossed out, didn’t really want any of our food after we found one in our curry, and called to let them know. They offered to make us more food. We declined and asked for a total refund of the order. They told us that since there was only hair in some of the food, they could only refund some of the order. They have yet to refund any of the order. Take a pass and go somewhere else. Unless you like eating your curry with a brush.

We haven’t been able to find a great Thai spot in Nashville. We ordered take out, the service was quick and very friendly. We ordered our three go-to thai dishes: pad thai, red curry, and Tom Yum soup. The Pad thai was pretty good, but the red curry and tom yum soup were a disappointment.

My friend and I ordered carryout(very painful ordering process on the phone) from Pad Thai as I was feeling under the weather and we were going to stay in to do a tacky reality television show night.(good times, right?) I ordered the Drunken Noodles with tofu and he ordered Pad Thai with tofu and just a few bites in, we realized how flavorless our dishes were. The tofu was rubbery and had an odd aftertaste and the noodles were dry and lacked any substantial flavor let alone spice. He had mentioned that when he went to go pick up the order that the restaurant was completely empty… now I know why. Very disappointing.

The atmosphere leaves a little to be desired here but the food is great. So my suggestion? If you don’t want a stale swampy smell to eat with … get it to go and order in advace so you don’t have to stand around and wait. Their heath score is high, so that wasn’t the issue! Great crab rangoons and a spicy pad thai!

We’ve given Pad Thai Kitchen so many chances because I liked that it was so calm and quiet. But it turns out that there’s a really good reason it’s always deserted. Each time we’ve tried it, our experience is worse than the last. The last three times I’ve ordered massaman curry, the potatoes have been RAW. We will not be giving Pad Thai Kitchen another chance. Thai Phooket is just down the street(though we actually love the Rivergate location and go to it instead) and SO much better.

We ordered the veggie tofu soup and pineapple fried rice(take-out). For the price I expected to be wowed by flavor, but it was blah to say the least. The soup lacked flavor and the veggies were close to raw. The pineapple fried rice was not even close to being fried, there were minimal chunks of pineapple and there was no flavor. Thanks to hot sauce and greek yogurt I made it through the meal. I may give them another try, but will not order the veggie tofu soup or pineapple fried rice again.

It wasn’t half bad! But it wasn’t super great, either. We were there right around normal dinner time, and were the only customers. I had eggrolls, which were good, and fried rice, which was also pretty good. I wasn’t too hungry so I didn’t get any specialty items or curry… Which I normally would. I will have to try it a 2nd time, and see if I can give them those other stars!

Doesn’t hold a candle to Thai Phooket. Do your self a favor and make the 5 minute drive down the road.

I am not difficult to please, especially when it comes to Thai food, but I will never be back to Pad Thai Kitchen again. I had been there 3 times prior to tonight and was never particularly impressed, but gave them the benefit of the doubt and assumed that perhaps I had just been ordering the wrong dish. After four consecutive bad experiences, tonight being the worst, I give up. The crab rangoons are typically the only outstanding feature of the entire dining experience. Tonight, however, they came without sweet thai chili sauce, and when I asked for it, our server(who I’m assuming is the owner based on other reviews) seemed perturbed and brought us sambal instead. Tonight I ordered the red curry with beef. What I got was basil-flavored water with exactly two pieces of beef. The thai tea tasted like there was 2 cups of sugar in each glass. Our server/owner noticed that I hadn’t touched my food and asked if i wanted a to-go box. After I said no, she assumed that it must have been too spicy for my white girl taste buds(though in reality the only discernible element of flavor to speak of was basil). When I said it wasn’t too spicy, she asked if wasn’t good. Not being the type to overtly complain, I said it wasn’t my favorite, at which point she asked if it was our first time there. When we said no, she just walked away and didn’t return to our table except to attempt to bus my boyfriend’s plate, which he clearly wasn’t finished with. If the food wasn’t bad enough, the service was horrible and so is the ambience. Given that we didn’t make a fuss, we were charged for everything, sans so much as an apology or excuse. Possibly the worst experience at a restaurant I have ever had.

I have tried every Thai place in the Nashville area and this one is my favorite, which is a lot for me to say because I’m a Thai food snob. They have the best Pad Thai, Drunken Noodle and fresh rolls. The staff is friendly. They are almost always open too, even on many holidays.

We’ve eaten here a few times, each time it was meh. The curries are good, just don’t get them to go, we’ve done so several times and they pack it in a to go box and all your curry ends up in the bottom of the bag, I have to ask them to put it in a soup cup… We stopped in sat. night to pick up our carry out and the restaurant smelled putrid and horrible. We got home, and the pad thai tasted of dirty socks. I think there is something wrong with the H2O or something.

Armed with a Livingsocial voucher for $ 20 I’d bought a couple months ago, I finally got around to going to Pad Thai kitchen last night. I think some of the reviews here are excessively harsh — but not by much. This was not the worst meal of my life, as some have claimed, but it was very far from the best. For appetizers, we tried the fresh rolls and the tom kha soup. The fresh rolls were reasonable in both size and flavor, and they came with some peanut/penang dipping sauce which tasted OK, although it was a bit oily.(And yes, I say this understanding full well that peanut oil is, um, oil.) The soup was a disappointment. For some tom kha soups, you get a creamy coconut flavor and consistency. For others, the lemongrass flavor comes out. Pad Thai Kitchen’s was, well, broth-y. It also had a LOT of chunks of onion in it, and I wasn’t a fan. When I asked for some prik nam pla(Thai bird chills in fish sauce — my favorite Thai condiment), the waitress looked at me confused. When I clarified«peppers and spices,» she was able to bring over a tray, but alas, my most loved condiment was nowhere to be found. I settled for dumping some ground chili pepper into the soup instead. Before I get to the entrees, let me also note the order in which our food arrived. It was: entrée #1, appetizer, entrée #2, soup. I’m going to let that marinate for a moment, no pun intended. OK, so the first entrée was the pineapple curry, which is the usual red curry with — you guessed it – pineapples. It was actually pretty decent. We’d ordered it Native Thai spicy, and while no Thai restaurant ever seems to take me seriously when I do that, it did have a bit of spunk. The flavors were decent, and I’d be inclined to order it again. The other entrée — the«Hot Thai Basil with Chicken» — was a disappointment. I expected any of the usual variations of kra prow, but what arrived tasted much more like a Chinese restaurant’s cashew chicken(except without the cashews). There were lots of very large chunks of green pepper(usually, the peppers are more finely cut), and lots and lots of other vegetables too(which isn’t what I expect from this dish). And basil flavors were practically non-existent. I had a few bites and decided to bring the rest of the leftovers to my mom, who loves mild brown sauce dishes. If that’s your thing, you might like this. We also asked for a little more rice and got hit with a $ 1.50 charge. While I would say this practice isn’t uncommon, there are plenty of restaurants that don’t do it. And given that Pad Thai Kitchen’s prices are already a buck or two above average on the entrees compared to other East Nashville Thai restaurants, needless to say I was ever-so-slightly chafed. You can get amazing deals for Pad Thai Kitchen by buying vouchers off of ($ 10 for $ 25 or $ 5 for $ 10, both with a minimum $ 35 purchase,), and they routinely offer sale prices off of these(e.g., $ 2 for a $ 25 certificate). So if you’re looking to eat cheap and don’t mind sacrificing quality, that can work out well. But I probably wouldn’t go back.

Seriously not bad. I know the place was hammered by a few people but really, it’s not bad. Pad Thai Kitchen is in my neighborhood, that is why I go there. The inside is clean and welcoming. The peanut dip for the fresh spring rolls is spicy and yummy. The drunken noodles is ok and full of veggies. I was definitely satisfied with my meal. Plus the food did not taste very salty, which was awesome! 2.5−3 stars. Is it the best I’ve had in the Nash, no but it’s a place I would come back to. The staff was also very friendly.

We visited here about 4pm on a Saturday, pretty«off» dinner hours so I was a bit nervous as to whether or not the service or food would be any good. I was relieved when we were greeted very warmly by our waiter, who appeared to possibly be one of the owners? He was friendly, and helpful. Granted we were the only people in the restaurant at that time, but he was very accomodating. He brought out our drinks promptly, along with place settings and allowed us time to review the long menu. I was disappointed that the soft drinks are in bottles and $ 1.75 a bottle — no refills. I think that is tacky for any restaurant which offers seated dining. The drink issue aside, the food was good and service was good = 4 stars. I ordered the Pad See Eww, the veggies are obviously from a bulk food supplier and frozen, that was evident but the temp and taste of the dish over shadowed the frozen veggie factor. The chicken was moist and flavorful, the dish was seasoned perfectly, the noodles were cooked properly and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The other people in my party ordered the red curry, soup and another noodle dish I cant recall at this moment, but each of us was happy with our selections. I will say for this setting, having frozen veggies and no refills on drinks, their prices are high. Maybe try a lunch special to check them out, rather than pay the dinner prices. In fairness I rate them 4 stars because I was impressed with the level of service and the food was good. I dont want to discourage anyone from trying this place in my hood! The parking is a drag, park across the street in the underground garage, not in Rite Aids parking — there is a slim chance someone will notice and tow you. But parking cant be helped for this building with its location right on the main street.

I visited Pad Thai Kitchen on my quest to find the best Thai food in Nashville. We had to park at the Rite Aid across the street and when we arrived we found we were the only people in the restaurant. I ordered the Basil Mussels and my date ordered the Pad Thai. We tried to get Chicken Satay appetizers, but they had run out of satay sauce. The food was average. My mussels were chewy, but the dish was appropriately spiced and the vegetables were nicely cooked. On the whole I thought Pad Thai Kitchen was fine, but there are other better Thai places around.

Had high hopes based on other reviews, but this was the worst«Thai» food I’ve ever had. We ordered the Pad Thai hot and Pad See Eau, both vegetable. The vegetables were not fresh, but from frozen and the taste of both dishes was awful. The Pad Thai was not hot at all and tasted like sweet and sour sauce from a jar. We sent it back. The Pad See Eau was slightly more tolerable, but really salty. We finished it because we had no time to eat anywhere else. As I write this, I feel a bit sick to my stomach and wonder if anything in the dishes was not from a can. Extremely disappointed. On the upside, the service was very friendly.

Pad Thai Kitchen is so close to my house, I’m surprised it took me this long to go there. We went fairly early in the evening but the entire time we were there we were one of two tables. Could this be because you have to park across the street in a little shady underground garage, or could it be because the service was less than stellar? First of all, I hate the parking. It just made me feel uncomfortable parking in the garage at night. We walked inside, it was spacious and clean, and sat down at a booth. The server(which from the previous reviews leads me to believe she was the owner) greeted us and gave us our menus. They looked like 6th grade book reports in the folders they were presented in. When we were ordering she seemed to be rushing us and acted like she didn’t really want us there. I ordered a red curry, my husband ordered the Thai basil dish and our daughter had rice and chicken satay. The food. I love curry. This curry was wonderful! I ordered medium spice and it was the perfect amount! I ended up asking for more rice just to soak up the rest of the liquid in the bowl. My husband’s dish, which is supposed to be naturally a little spicy and he also ordered it hot, was not hot ATALL. The flavor was good, the heat just wasn’t there. All in all the meal was good. If the food hadn’t been good I would have given 2 stars for service but the food definitely saved it. I will try it again for sure, I’m not going to let my love of curry keep me away.
