Was hungry and left bar was at for this place I found on Unilocal. It was 9:50. Website said they were open until 10:00. Just because you want to go home shouldn’t justify kicking a potential customer out. One star for false advertising.

This was pretty yummy. The service was great and friendly; however, I was there at an off time at around 2 o clock. After landing back in Nashville I decided I wanted lunch somewhere where I can’t normally get to during the week since I work in West End. I ended up at Otters because I had heard some great things. I was not disappointed. The chicken tenders were large and delicious. I went with the honey mustard but will definitely try the Otter sauce next time. Bottled beer was cheap, even at lunch, which is always nice. The fries were good but nothing exciting. Would be perfect combination if they had some good fresh cut fries. The Texas Toast was delicious. I would be interested to try the grilled tenders next time!

Pros: Had the Scoutmob deal so it was a great value. Decent, but unspectacular tenders. Cons: My to-go order was missing a piece of texas toast and coleslaw and the tenders were on the smaller side(esp. compared to McDougal’s). Also, the Creole sauce tastes like tartar mixed with bbq. I’ve been time in New Orleans and I’m not sure what exactly is ‘creole’ about that sauce.

There are three reasons my trip to Otter’s left a good taste in my mouth — 1) I used the 50% off Scoutmob. 2) I met up with a few friends with the intention of having a long dinner and just chatting and catching up. 3) There was a great basketball game on TV that we all got sucked into. Notice none of those things have to do with the restaurant itself. We got there just before 7:00 pm on a Wednesday night, and there was not a soul in there except three police officers who walked in right before us. After they ordered, I walked up to the counter and hit«Use deal» on the Scoutmob app. The app says the time was exactly 7:01. After a few ordering snafus(the last guy in our party got charged double), we sat down with our drinks and began to chat. It’s a good thing we had lots to talk about! After about 20 minutes, we went up to check and make sure we didn’t miss our order(although since there was only six of us in the place, including the three cops — who also didn’t have their food), and the guy working told us it would be right out. About this time, one more couple walked in and ordered(who ended up leaving because they never received their food). After about 10 more minutes, he came to our table and asked what our order numbers were. We told him, and he went back to the kitchen. About this time we watched one of the police officers get up and got ask about their food, and we could tell they were getting rather antsy(as were we). At 7:41, they called our numbers from the pick-up window. 40 minutes for three identical orders of 3 chicken tenders each… In a place that has«chicken tenders» in its name. The chicken itself was ok, although not as flavorful, and a little greasier than the always-a-favorite McDougals. The fries were pretty standard. Overall there was nothing special about the place, and the amount of time it took to get the food will probably prevent me from coming back. Maybe I caught it on a bad night, because I know people like this place. I just didn’t have much reason to agree with them.

Two sauce covered thumbs up here! I love finding unique fast casual tasty dining experiences in Nashville and Otter’s is exactly that. First off, the counter service was friendly and I was greeted with a smile. None of that too-cool-for-school hipster snobery here. Just friendly dudes who seemed genuinely happy to help me with my small order. All those compliments also apply to the gentleman at the pick-up window. The space doesn’t have that cookie-cutter feel to it that a lot of fast casual joints tend to have… Otter’s has a bit more of a cozy kinda mellow atmosphere. Right on. Now, on to the grub. I got the #3 which I will easily get lunch and dinner out of today. The chicken tenders were WAY bigger than I expected. I got 3 grilled and 2 fried tenders and even the grilled ones were HUGE. For some reason I expected those to be much smaller. What a great option btw, grilled instead of fried. Brilliant! The tenders were cooked to perfection and although I wanted to keep eating, I was seriously full after eating just 3 of them. Of course I also had Fries, coleslaw, a slice of Texas toast &TWO sauce choices as part of the huge basket. I got the Otter’s signature sauce and the spicy selection. The Otters sauce was my favorite and the spicy sauce was also good. Both were far more interesting than the obligatory honey mustard or ranch found elsewhere. Otter’s also has those and I think they make their own so they’re prolly pretty good. ;-) The fries were good and I like the slaw too. All in all, prolly my favorite fast casual dining experience in Nashville to date! Keep up the good work Otter’s! Oh, I almost forgot, they are on Scoutmob!

It’s a good thing I didn’t pay very much for the wings. They were awful! They were undercooked and swimming in tomato-based sauce. I ordered five wings and I only ate two before throwing the rest in the trash. Perhaps the other menu items have redeaming quality. I wouldn’t know, but I can attest that the wings should be avoided.

In the land of chicken fingers, good sauce is King. All hail King Creole Sauce. This place is an efficient lunch spot, and the chicken fingers are very good, but in all seriousness; try that creole sauce.

I really appreciate a place where I can walk in with 5 separate orders and they get it all perfect at the height of the lunch hour!(No, I wasn’t «that girl» who was at the counter disorganized — everything was written out and cards were ready haha) The chicken options are grilled, fried and buffalo… I usually stick to the grilled. They are huge big pieces of chicken! I’ve tried to eat 3 but failed. I’m not a french fry girl but my co-workers all wolfed them down. The fried pickles are great! I’d skip cole slaw & texas toast… not worth the calories.(both are kind of soggy) If you aren’t in to chicken(first off, what’s wrong with you? just kidding.) but there are LOTS of other options on the menu. This is the last location in Nashville so lets keep it open, folks!

Had not been in a while but it popped in my head for carry out… the Tenders are awesome(I had buffalo style), think I got an old batch of fries though. Definitely will hit it up again…

Very good! My only complaint is that the menu online says that the #2 Box comes with slaw and I did not receive any. That was really okay for me because there was enough food as it was! Will be back!

When it comes to chicken, Otters is king. The service is always fast. Staff is friendly. They usually have a few games playing which compliments the SEC vibe. Don’t be a fool and get the Otters sauce. I’ve also had them deliver a catering order for a tailgate and that was a great experience — they even met me at a nearby intersection to drop the food off as close as they could. The patio is a pretty solid spot when the weather’s nice — there’s typically some good people watching with the neighboring bars and music venues.

How have I never reviewed Otter’s before? This place was a staple for me in college. I hadn’t been back in a while until this week, and I’m happy to report it is still delicious. I’m pretty sure the size of the chicken tenders has decreased and the price has increased, so I’m knocking off another star, but I’ll forgive them. Times are tough. I’m also not thrilled at the 25 cents per extra sauce… seriously? I’ve never strayed far from a #2 box with otter’s sauce. Do they even serve other things? Try to go during an off time or else be prepared to wait. Although service can be hit or miss, even during slow times.

If I use the two stars with the obligatory«Meh. I’ve experienced better,» words shoved in my mouth without my permission, I had to have experienced something better than Otter’s. And that’s simple: McDougall’s is clearly better. Suffice to say, the staff I met was great. The service was reasonable. The speed I got the food was pretty decent. And the environs was nice. But the chicken fingers were really bad. Not disgusting, but when the Chicken Fingers, the raison d’etre for Otter’s aren’t worth eating, then Otter’s isn’t worth visiting. It’s like when the hot chicken place’s chicken isn’t hot. What? It’s like when you go to the coffee shop that has great scones but terrible coffee. Like crema. BURN! Seriously, though, if you want chicken fingers, go one more mile down the road and get to McDougall’s.

Here’s the deal: if you can get them, the chicken tenders are really good here. Unfortunately, getting said chickeny bits of goodness is easier said than done if you happen to be a night owl. Let me take you on a painful stroll down memory lane: It’s 10:15 pm on a Saturday night and suddenly my husband and I are both struck by a powerful chicken finger craving that will not be denied. Seeing that McDougal’s in Hillsborough is already closed, we check out Otter’s website and see that they’re open until midnight! Score! Only, when we get there at 10:30, the place is already closed! Despite having different hours listed on their website(and none posted at the location)! What gives? I hate that so many places in Nashville close their doors freakishly early, but claiming to be open late and then being closed just adds insult to injury. For the false advertising and inconvenience, I shall now limit my diurnal chicken finger splurges to McDougal’s(whose website has been under construction for something like 6 months, but that’s a whole ‘nother issue…).

I was excited to try Otter’s Chicken Tenders, but the hype didn’t live up to my expectations. My biggest complaint was that the employee taking orders acted like she had better things to do(like texting) than to take our order. The food itself was good, but there’s not many ways that chicken tenders can go wrong. The food was hot, and I suspect that it’s cooked to order, or at least it was the time of day that we were there. I’m guessing that it’s more of a lunch hot spot, because there weren’t many people there at dinner time, though parking was a bit of a challenge because of it’s location to other businesses. I don’t see myself going back here, as there is no real reason to draw me back.

My experience at Otter’s was pretty average, but it loses a star over a cashier that appeared to wish for my demise. She followed it up by going back to a very important bit of texting on her phone. Overall the food was good, but I find McDougals to be better. On the plus side the French Fries were salted to perfection. The parking might be a bit of a bear unless you are walking here. Good, but not great. I probably wouldn’t return unless I was in the immediate area.

Hello Chicken Fingers! When you have a craving, get here — stat! It’s a great place to go and get your grease fix. You get the chicken fingers, fries, and buttered Texas toast! Yeah! Hits the spot when you feel like being bad! Their chicken is so tender and they do use fresh white meat. Granted, it’s friend to death, but they are so good you’ll be back for more! They offer salads, but I would skip that. Go for what they’re famous for! Let them do what they do! You can try to be good and get the grilled tenders, but they look dry to me. I know when I go here I’m going for the gusto! Great dipping sauce and fries cooked to perfection. And they have that rat pallet ice. Love rat pellet ice! You’re gonna thank me for that one! Promise.

I wish there was a category for just«chicken fingers», because that’s pretty much what you get at Otter’s. Not chicken wings, but chicken fingers. Fried, grilled, or buffalo style – they are all FAN-FREAKIN’-TASTIC. Something in the spices they use, but they are different than other chicken finger places. I personally enjoy the grilled basket – oh and for sides, if you like fries, Texas toast, or slaw, you are in luck. Not much else! Otter’s does have a little variety though – you can get a chicken finger wrap sandwich, or just between bread. They also serve salads – you guessed it, chicken fingers over lettuce. Not my standard choice, but I’ve definitely checked it out. All solid choices as well! I also recommend the Otter’s sauce… not sure what’s in it, but I’m sure there is mayo, some spices, possibly some ketchup… sounds gross but trust me it’s awesome. Other dippers offered are BBQ, ranch, honey mustard, and buffalo. Bottom line – like chicken? Go to Otter’s. Great for groups, they have a patio, they like kids, and they also serve some cold beer.
