You know that ex that you can never quite get away from? The one who happens to attend every event you do, and who also happens to be so enormously attractive that you cannot tear your attention away, no matter how you berate your own lack of will-power? That is Moose Head Kettle Corn to me. If you were to ask me what food I most associate with Nashville, it would have to be Moose Head. They are EVERYWHERE, like a movie in which a futuristic society is dedicated entirely to selling popcorn from cloned stations. Live on the Green, Shakespeare in the Park, the Farmers’ Market… if you’re there, they definitely plan on being there, too. I really can’t think of a more convenient mom-and-pop«restaurant.» So what about their popcorn? The great news is, you can try them all, and there are over a dozen to try. This may in fact result in you being so full that you no longer need to buy any popcorn, but don’t be a jerk… buy popcorn anyway. I am no longer allowed to purchase the s’mores flavor, because I will eat the entire giant bag immediately; garlic parmesan is not much better, as far as my self-control goes. Cajun is delightful, dill pickle savory and tangy, and crème brûlée rich and sweet. I could list all the flavors at this point, but I imagine you get the idea.

Sunday at the Farmer’s Market at 9am and the smell of the popcorn from Moose Head Kettle Corn was drawing me in. It is located near the Garden of Babylon entrance in Main Building One. I think it was located somewhere differently in the building. It moves around I guess, but this might be its location for this season. The smell is great! The price is okay, I guess. Four dollars $ 4 for a package of popcorn. They have many flavors to choose from. I always lean towards the cheesy popcorn or the sweet popcorn like caramel corn. But, lately I have been enjoying spicy hot and cheesy flavors mixed together. If you buy three you can get a fourth on free. Maybe if you had several in your group, that is a great bargain. But I always just get one at a time. I actually bought this popcorn at the Grand Opry Auditorium for the first time, while watching a performance there. and fell in love with it. But, the price is sometimes out of my pocket book range. depends on want and pocket book… more than NEED… sometimes the WANT wins out… oh well, one less gallon of gas this week…

Oh my you can’t beat freshly made warm kettle corn. The smell lures you in at the farmers market. They have lots of flavors, savory and sweet, which they offer free samples of. My fave is still the buttery sweet original kettle corn.
