Mama’s Restaurant

Well I take back everything I said… LOL! I guess it would be nice if the owners were actual soul food cookers and not just the one guy in the back. Each time we went back (twice) the food was worse and you could tell it had been cooked earlier then under a heat lamp. So with that said, we won’t be going back.

I got this flyer (an expensive looking flyer) on my front porch with a lot of pictures of food that looks pretty good. I think they should have saved the money on the flyer and invested in the restaurant itself. It was not a clean place and floor looks like it could use a real good sweep and mop. Dont think you will be waited on, its not that type of a restaurant. Think it will fail if they dont do something other then they are doing. They much rather you call in an order and then come pick it up… like the Pizza Hut across the parking lot from this place. They had three tables to choose from and a garbage can at the end of the hall to throw your own stuff away. I wanted the Catfish noted on the flyer for $ 4.25. I was wandering what it would look like for $ 4.25 and never found out… until I got there, it was $ 6.99 — big mislead since I just got the flyer yesterday. In addition, I got two pieces of catfish laid over two pieces of bread. I guess the bread was there to soak up the grease. Then, I got some green beans. Well, I wanted a drink to go with my meal and they had a Coke cooler filled with coke, and water (and some other bottled water). I got a water, small water at that and was charged for my water for a dine-​in order. Not all you can drink, you pay by the bottle. It totaled near $ 9 when it was all said and done. I cant complain about the two pieces of fish, two slices of bread, green beans, and water but, I can think of other places to get COD, a large drink, fries, etc. for about $ 6. I wont go back and their portion sizes are for kids. I am wondering… if there is no care about cleanliness and attentive to the customers, how long it will be before they close the doors… a shame. Oh one more thing, no telling how long there food stays in the heating trays in that food cart behind the cash register.
