My husband and I are visiting from Burbank, CA. We wanted something close to our hotel(The Sheraton) but nothing on Broadway, no offense Broadway, you’re good not great. Anyway, the concierge at the hotel recommended this place for its southern charm, and food. It was fantastic! Our expert server, Christian recommended the fried green tomatoes and they were so good not greasy but seemed to be in keeping with a fresh feel. My husband had the jumbo shrimp in cheddar grits, I had steak with spaghetti zucchini that was amazing. The food and service were so wonderful I would highly recommend this place to anyone, I’m sorry I’m going home otherwise I’d go back tomorrow. You guys Rock!

We just had a wonderful family meal with some of the best food in Nashville. Comfortable setting with friendly relaxed service. The Alpine cocktail was refreshing. Tomato soup and steak and biscuits were yummy starters. We enjoyed scallop, crab cakes, short rib, and pork chop special for entrees. Shared the incredible bread pudding and brownie desserts. Every plate was clean. We’ll be back!

Came here for a belated birthday dinner. Our waiter, Harry, provided impeccable service. Lamb shank was pretty delicious. Mac and cheese needed seasoning, but was solid. Great wine selection. The bread pudding dessert with glazed donuts was delicious as well!

Went in for a «split» lunch, my wife had lunch while I attended a meeting in the building, then I had lunch while she watched — well, watched and had another local«bourbon» beer. Superior personnel, multiple people. Her fried chicken salad was incredible, not a shred of it left on the plate. My mahi mahi tacos were not as good as the salad, but very good. House chardonnay was not up to par. Best part was the people, the bartender and others were very personable and helpful to we out-of-towners — who WILL return.

The food was pretty good, but not worth the inconvenience of being treated poorly by everyone from the waitress to the valet. Nashville has plenty of great options, take your money elsewhere.

We had a private dinner event with 80 people. The staff and food were amazing! Everyone was professional. The event went so smoothly. Great place for an event. Thank you to all the staff.

Fresh, that’s the perfect word for this restaurant. Interior is beautiful and modern fresh. The food and the way it is presented feels super fresh too. I think this whole cumin station building is just fun, cool, pretty and I am so happy we have it done town. M Restaurant & Bar is representing it perfect with its genuine menu and wonderful service. And last but not least, Stephen was a fantastic server!

Too bad there’s not half stars, because I would give this place three and a half and not three stars. I meet a friend here for after-work drinks. I had the Sazerac and an Old Fashion. The Sazerac is made with Bulleit Rye and came on a little strong at first, but mellowed out in the end. The Old Fashioned was good right from the start, so there’s that. I really dug the vibe with the exception of the really, really unnecessary TV. Throw in two more for added measure and they really bring things down. This is a place that is trying, and mostly succeeding, at being upscale, the TVs just ruin it. The reason I didn’t bump the stars up is because of the parking situation. They validate, but even with validation parking cost $ 6. If they fix the parking situation and dump the TVs this will be the kind of upscale place Nashville needs.

FANTASTIC. This place is more than just a restaurant, it’s an experience. The chef truly cares about the art of cooking. Presentation of the meal is beautiful and you can taste the quality. The service when I came here was the BEST I’ve had in a long time. Our server, Wilson, was not only honest with our table and let us know he wouldn’t bother us unless we needed something and he also didn’t try to sell us the most expensive things. He was friendly, lively, and charismatic without trying too hard. I wish he could follow me to every restaurant so I could have the pleasure of him being my server every where I went. The restaurant was very quiet when we came with our group of 4 on a Tuesday night around 7pm and we were able to choose our own seat since there wasn’t many people there. We ordered the fried green tomatoes for an appetizer and those were a hit, but unfortunately I couldn’t eat them since they weren’t GF. I ordered the«cast iron filet of beef» which came on a bed of sweet potato hash and a fried egg on the steak. Let me just say, that THISMEALWASONE I WILLNEVERFORGET. I’m not too keen on eggs and steak for dinner, but this worked PERFECTLY. The consistency of the egg was delicate but added to the sauce on the steak and the steak itself was so tender and soft I didn’t even need my steak knife. The portion was typical for those«fancy» places, where less is more. So if you are starving, you better get a salad or appetizer with your entrée. Overall, I definitely would come back and try another beautiful and tasty creation at M’s!

Absolutely sub par. There were 5 of us for dinner on a Friday night. Our first clue should have been that we easily got it at 7. Their«new winter menu» needs refining. The ravioli was a strange combination of flavor a that did not blend well together. Pan seared beef was not seared at all. The crab cakes were overpowered by super sweet onions. The salads were dressed in overly sweet dressing. But we still ordered 1 dessert and… yep, awful. The chocolate with peanut butter was hard and cold.

Went in on Thanksgiving for their 4-course menu. Food was very good, and the staff was super nice. Started with Corn fritters, Garden Salad, Fresh Amish Chicken with Baby Portobello Mushrooms Tortellini, finishing off with Strawberry Cheesecake. Fixed menu price was $ 38, which I found very reasonable given the taste and quantity.

Went with a big group of people and they provided a 3-course option. Appetizer was green tomato and it was only one slice per person but charged for $ 3, main entrée I had a pork dish it was pretty impressive, dessert was bread pudding and turned out to be below average to my standard… Had a fun time with friends though!

DONOTCOMEHERE. I would NOT recommend coming here for a bachelorette trip. Read extended comment below why. So we got there. One of my cousins friends was on the phone for a few minutes. The waiter told her she was disturbing and distracting other guests by being on her phone(mind you there was no warning on the website or signs indicating they were a cellphone free place). We overheard the wait staff arguing about who was going to take the table. The waiter was so rude and condescending. He also refused to serve my cousin(the bride) wine saying she was too drunk(yes she was drunk but not to the point where service should have been refused). The waiter made my cousin cry and pretty much ruined her night

Such a great, knowledgeable staff. Shrimp and grits were the best I’ve ever had, but the entire table(12 of us) raved about their dishes. Must try the hot chicken and waffles too!

The service was a bit on the slow side, but the food was spectacular. Started with fried green tomatoes — they were super. Wedge salad was also solid. They say their Creole shrimp and grits wins awards, and now I know why. Hearty and just the right amount of spice. The andouille sausage was a great touch and the shrimp were enormous! The only bummer was that they were out of the coconut cake. So disappointed, but the apple fritter bread pudding was a fantastic second choice. Plus, now I have a reason to go back!

I joined my boyfriend for lunch at M. Restaurant the other day and really enjoyed it! This place is a white tablecloth restaurant, even at lunch, so I knew it would be pricey. Entrees hover around the $ 12.00-$ 14.00 mark, so be prepared before you go. I was temped by a few items on the menu, but once I saw the lobster roll, I knew I had to order it. It was very good! Lots of lobster with a perfect amount of goat cheese and dressing. The side salad was great too and I loved the vinaigrette. There were two negatives, service was pretty bad for the restaurant not being very busy and the credit card machine was down. Luckily I had cash because they wanted to write down my number and charge it later, and I didn’t want my number hanging around the restaurant. But I am excited to come back and try their dinner and brunch selections sometime!

I am glad to see Unilocal is in line with how I feel about this restaurant. I am a little taken back that M. has so many five star reviews on Tripadvisor. Honestly the food is just ok — if that. Its in a convenient location around downtown and I have dined once for lunch, once for drinks and once for a light dinner. I tried the chicken and waffles for lunch. The waffles were bland and needed salt and sugar in the batter. The chicken was ok too, the crust was good but it was a little over fried so the chicken was too stringy rather than juicy. The drinks were actually pretty good. They have some good cocktails — I tried the pineapple one and one with elderflower liquor which I love. The dinner menu again is just alright. We had a burger and also tried the salmon once. Its ok for the area but I wouldn’t go out of my way to dine here. There are a lot better craft cocktail places or lunch spots in or around town. Attention to detail.

First off, they have 2 entrances which are kind of confusing to new patrons. One enters in to middle of the restaurant in front of the bar and one is by the host station. It would be nice if they labelled which was which. I saw tons of people coming in through the bar entrance and being told to go to the host station at the other side of the room. Other than that. Service and food are excellent. They offer vegetarian and gluten free items. The veggie tower was delicious and filling. And it was gluten free. I’m more of a salt tooth than a sweet tooth, so I don’t usually order dessert, but I went for the bread pudding and wow! It was served warm and Alá mode, with caramel drizzled on top and a fresh strawberry. Definitely coming back for more.

I like coming to Cummins Station. The mixed use building makes a lot of sense, it houses a wide variety of businesses and the central location makes it convenient to many people. Plus, parking’s validated. So… awesome, right? I walked in to find white tablecloths and a slightly fancier lay out than I was expecting. While I didn’t look like I’d been foraging in the woods, I felt a bit uncomfortable with how casual I was. No one with the restaurant made me feel out of place. It’s just a visceral reaction to white tablecloths. Maybe it’s a southern thing? In any case, just an FYI, folks. We were led to our table and our waiter warmly greeted us. He asked if I’d been to the restaurant before, to which I answered that I hadn’t, and he proceeded to tell me about the point of view, etc. What stuck in my mind from his speech was the info about the blue plate specials. Every week day, M offers a different specialty plate. Unfortunately for me, I was there on a Thursday: baked chicken. While the dish is good for my health and waistline, my gullet much preferred the sinfulness of Monday’s buttermilk fried chicken with beans and white cheddar mac & cheese. Note to self: come here on a Monday. All was not lost, however. The regular menu items had more than enough options for me. Knowing that M offers a fancier twist to southern favorites, I went for the chicken & waffles. This dish was elevated by the use of hot chicken(with wonderfully crunchy pickles to add a cool texture contrast) atop a parmesan-herbed waffle. Ohh, fancy. Even the maple syrup was fancy, what with it having a rosemary base. Rosemary! The dish was absolutely delicious. My big belly was pleased to note that the serving was quite generous. Sometimes at lunch, the servings tend to be a bit smaller than what one(I?) might hope for. Not the case here. You, certainly, get good bang for your buck. I washed down my food with a just-right sweet tea(not brown water but not cloying) and I was in a great mood — as were most everyone around me. The place was packed for lunch. We arrived just in time. A few minutes later than when we showed up and we would have had to wait a while for the table. It seems that Downtowners and Gulch workers know all about M and as well they should. It does a nice job with a gotta-get-it-right style of cooking. I’ll be back for dinner.

Dynamic Brunching In Nashville SITREP M. Restaurant & Bar is one of those sweeeet food locations in Nashville that prides itself in the best of Southern cuisine. From Spicy Chicken & Waffles to Cheesy Grits, M. Restaurant takes you a culinary tour that will delight your tastebuds. [On a funny side note, I was curious about the meaning of the mysterious initial«M» stood for. It was pretty funny in fact that a lot of my friends were too busy trying to guess at it that I thought it would be just more direct to ask someone who might know — such as the head bartender! And in fact shared with me that the«M» in «M. Restaurant» stands for the owners’ daugther’s name of «MacKenzie», and the other related monikers of «Mack» and«Kate» are variations of that name as well.] THEMENUOFFERINGS Our group was perplexed on where to start with the choices, but once we all settled on who was getting what, it became easier to hone on a varied selection so that we could all sample: * I had never tried a «Spicy Hot Chicken Waffles», so that was an easy choice for me to make; * Some in our party wanted Homestyle Biscuits & Gravy; and, * Others included Cheesy Grits in their order along with Bacon & Eggs * There were other dishes but, honestly, I lost track! And so we all got to sample a bit of everything since we shared. DESSERT WE finished with some peach and apple cobblers with scoops of ice cream on top a la mode, so for me that was a nice tongue«cool down» from the spicy chicken waffle heat! REASONBLECOST Nothing on the menu food-wise really was more than $ 12-$ 15 on average, and so this definitely is chalked up in my book as a great brunch stop. THELOWDOWN A great Southern Brunch treat! opportunities — all happen!
