Great vibes and service! The«old fashion» is a must try! We ordered the bone marrow and mussels to start things off. The New York strip was cooked to perfection!

This place is mad crazy packed on a Friday night but that only means it’s popular and good! The restaurant is nice and cozy and by cozy, that means get ready to rub shoulders while getting through. Luckily I was able to find a seat at the bar. There were so many items on the menu that caught my eye. I managed to settle and decided to order the strip steak. The steak sat on a bed of green beans and a generous pool of chimichurri sauce. The steak was seasoned well and the chimichurri was amazing. The sauce kept the steak moist and succulent. The green beans were sauteed with pecans that gave it that nutty texture which was perfectly balanced with the crunch of the green beans. My only complaint was the steak was a bit on the chewy side even when I ordered it medium rare. Overall great experience and great food!

I took my wife here for a date night and this was one of the best places I’ve been since moving to Nashville. We started off with the bone marrow for an appetizer and was spot on! For our dinner we ordered a pizza and the duck and was blown away by the quality of the food. Their desserts were incredible and everything was great. While this place is small and does require a reservation, it’s worth it!

Amazing! There was a duck breast entrée special that I just had to have, oh my word! Perfection! For apps we had the bone marrow, which was cooked to perfection and the toast slices were great. The crab and corn fritters were interesting, and good, but not something you’d feel like you’re missing out on. Then, the ear grey«tea» misu was perfect! Very light, very chocolatey without the overstuffed 10 layer chocolate cake with chocolate icing feeling. Trust me, I can go years without chocolate and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite of this dessert. Really liked the addition of a sprinkling of sea salt on top. Added bonus, you actually taste the Earl grey! Next time I’m checking out the charred octopus pizza, it looked scrumptious.

Seriously amazing!!! We got about 6 things, and not only were the portion sizes huge, but the food was fresh and very farm to table. The restaurant was very busy on the night we went(Monday night), so make sure to make a reservation. The hostess was very friendly and helpful, though, and was able to get us some seats next to each other at the bar. :)

Not sure why this restaurant came up as Gluten free option since few if any of the entrees were and they wouldn’t substitute items within entrees were most establishments would. I ordered the chicken minus the grits on top of brousel sprouts. Little to no taste on chicken and veggies left me with a very disappointing experience.

This food was as good as it gets. Even the salad was a brilliant combination of flavors.

I don’t know what’s going on with some of these reviews, but I had my fifth or sixth meal at this restaurant last night. I can safely say that this is the best restaurant in Nashville. Hands down. The Catbird Seat is incredible, but obviously a very different experience. The chicken liver pâté is the single best thing in this entire city. I’ve gotten it every time I’ve ever been and will continue to get it every single time. I’m always digging at the bottom of the jar it’s served in, even when the bread is long gone. They also had a special homemade bacon appetizer served with risotto and a poached egg that was ridiculously good. For dinner my girlfriend had the pork chop, which is probably the best entrée in the city as well. I usually get it every visit but decided she could have it this time and I’d venture out. The pork chop is served over greens and the richest, creamiest macaroni you will ever have. It’s simple, but perfect. I opted for the duck breast, which was immaculate. The sides with the duck breast change depending on what’s available, but mine was served with bacon and blue cheese slaw, cheesy hash browns and creamed greens. As for desert, it’s the Olive and Sinclair skillet cookie every time. It’s decadent. Gooey, salty, buttery chocolate served with ice cream. The only disappointment was that I remember them serving it with Chantilly cream, but that was missing this time. No big deal. The lady opted for the banana bread pudding with bananas foster. She was in heaven. Also, the cocktails are fantastic, and much to my surprise they even had a bottle of Van Winkle Lot B I was able to get a pour from. It’s a beautiful, cozy restaurant and the staff are super friendly, attentive and helpful. I cannot recommend this place enough. Also, I saw someone complain about the price. They are incredibly reasonable for the product they are putting out.

This is our new favorite neighborhood restaurant! My husband and I liked it so much we even bought their cookbook! The feel and ambiance of this place is just awesome, and really eclectic and homey. We didn’t need to make a reservation for a Tuesday night, but it was crowded, and we had to sit at a small table by the window — not a problem, because it gave us a great view of the entire place. My husband loved the ribeye with truffle fries he ordered and I had the best dessert, ever. Seriously. The banana foster bread pudding is THEBEST dessert I have ever eaten. The cocktail menu looked pretty impressive, but we both just got a glass of wine(FYI, they also let you order ½ glasses). We will definitely be back soon!

Arrived on New Year’s Eve for a romantic dinner with my wife. Reservations 1 week in advance. We were seated at the Pizza oven on the corner by the kitchen with several tables open in the main dining room. I asked if we could have one of the open dueces but was told that this was where they had us seated. I insisted on a better table as the warming lamps by the service bar were getting too hot for me. They moved us to the patio beneath a gas heater. There was one table with 6 young ladies and my wife an I on «the patio». 4 other open tables. I asked if we could have one of the tables further away from the heater, but was told that this was“not possible”. I asked if they could turn down the heater, but was told that the switch was broken and was duct taped on full blast to keep the room warm. At least the heater gave me a nice tan… OK. The food was good, the service adequate, but the front of the house is so poorly run that I will never recommend this place to any of my friends in Brentwood and Franklin. I guess that we’re just not hipster enough to enjoy East Nashville on New Year’s Eve. I got the message and so will my friends. Did I mention that dinner + 2 beers was $ 200+ tip? Prix fixe for NYE, but still, for the«experience» it was way not worth it to me… just say in’…

So embarrassed, I took a friend who is a NYC chef to Lockeland. Made a big deal about how great it was to have them in the neighborhood and how they have a community hour to encourage local family business. We arrived at 4:40pm with 3 adults and 2 kids. The restaurant was completely empty except a few at the bar and only one table of 2 seated in the entire restaurant. They said they couldn’t seat us because they had too many 6:30pm reservations. Again empty restaurant and they would not seat us. Embarrassed. Community hour at Lockeland is dead. Went to Holland House had a lovely dinner and will NOT be back to Lockeland even though they are walking distance from my house.

I’ve been keeping a list of restaurants to visit on my wishlist, and Dan and I have been making an effort to try them when we can. One of these was Lockeland Table, located in East Nashville. I kept seeing it pop up in local news, even national magazines, because it’s known for unpretentious and delicious Southern-inspired food. We arrived on a Friday night with no reservation, but we were on the early side and able to find street parking. If you want to eat at Lockeland Table, I recommend a reservation. They were completely booked for the evening until 9:30pm when we arrived, but we were able to wait for two spots at the bar to eat. We’re glad we waited; the bar is beautiful and wide enough for comfortable dining. The bartender taking care of us was fantastic, and the people sitting around us were warm and nice. Overall, it felt like an upscale spot for locals to grab a bite. East Nashville is such a unique neighborhood! Drinks were definitely in order, because their menu looked awesome. Their sparkling grapefruit cocktail was my favorite drink that night. Super refreshing and delicious, with my favorite cocktail flavors. For my main course, I had the local spaghetti and meatballs. It was a cold day, and it felt nice to tuck into some comfort food. If a place can execute a great spaghetti and meatballs, you know they can handle just about anything! The meal was tasty, and the bread was a perfect complement. The pasta tasted fresh(I believe it is made locally) and I loved it! No leftovers to take home, it was yum. Dan had a delicious special for the night, a ribeye with one of the tastiest balsamic glazes I’ve had in ages. Delicious, delicious steak! I don’t know what else to say about it other than it needs to be on the menu all the time. Fries were on point too. After a few drinks, I get booze munchies… and dessert sounded like the perfect end to a delicious date night. We picked the Olive & Sinclair chocolate chip skillet with vanilla gelato, the perfect dessert for two people! The skillet was sizzling and hot, and the cookie was perfect too. Undercooked and warm chocolate cookies are my favorite, and we scraped the skillet clean. There are so many restaurants in Nashville that we need to try, but Lockeland Table is good enough to make me want to come back again!

3.5 Wonderful food coupled with an uneven service experience left me uncertain on how to judge my experience at Lockeland Table. I’d been looking forward to eating here for months. So, when one of my best friends came to town, I knew where we needed to go. Even though we were coming on a Tuesday evening, I made reservations for 8 pm. I’d heard that the dining room can get packed quickly and didn’t want to take a chance. We arrived a bit ahead of our reservation and checked in with the hostess. She was dismissive at best and rude at worst. She wouldn’t make eye contact with us and seemed irritated that we were early. The dining room wasn’t packed but I understand: reservation time is reservation time. I asked if we could sit at the bar until it was time for our reservation. She didn’t respond with words. She just waved us to the bar. It was a discomforting way to begin the evening, to be sure. I tried not to think about it and bellied up to the bar. The build out is small but quite charming. My friend and I were the only ones at the bar… yet we couldn’t get served. I know. At first, it wasn’t an issue because we were perusing the menu. Once we’d settled on what we wanted, though, we wanted to order. My friend, ever the calm, rational one, attempted to distract me from my growing irritation and used her best Southern charm to get a waitress(yes, a waitress) to take our order: a Star & Elaine for her and a Beehive for me. Both were made well and were refreshing. The drink took my mind off the slight. At 8:14(I have the receipt), we were told that our 8 pm table(for which we arrived at 7:50) was ready. Confusing, as the dining room wasn’t full but at this point, I was just going with it. We had to settle out at the bar, though, before the hostess would take us to our table. She made a point of saying that she couldn’t(wouldn’t?) seat us until then and once we paid, to alert her that we were ready. Seriously? Again, my friend kept me calm and we did as asked. We were shown to our table(literally, pointed to where we were to go; no words) and seated. No water. No so-and-so will be with you shortly. Nothing. After 16 minutes of staring at each other without anyone coming by our table, we both decided it was time to leave. It was then that I stopped a waiter, explained our evening to him and that we were taking off. He was mortified about our experience and told us that if we would keep our table, he would wait on us. We did and he did. From here, the night got much better. Austin(our server) was pleasant, talkative and added to the dining experience. He led us to some excellent suggestions and a delicious meal. The pork dumplings with ninja sauce were delectable and the lobster roll tacos were a decadent surprise. Keeping with the pig theme, we shared the Woodstock pizza and one of the best pork loins I’ve had in life. We paired this with a reasonably-priced pinot grigio(work the next day kept us on the white wine train). To end the meal, we had the cookie skillet that everyone raves about. It was divine. Austin let us know that because of our troubles, he took the liberty of correcting our bill. We hadn’t asked for him to do this but I greatly appreciated his forethought and concern. It was reflected in his tip. I don’t know what was the problem at the beginning. We felt unwanted and embarrassed to have received such dismissive ‘service.’ Granted, Austin made up for the beginning of our experience and we left feeling much better than we did as we came in but he shouldn’t have had to throw such a hail Mary. Yes, the food at Lockeland Table lives up to its billing. But the cold shoulderS we received will make me think twice about returning.

Lockeland table was the first place I stopped for dinner in Nashville upon a recommendation from a friend who lived in town. I was delighted to call and find out their patio was dog friendly since my pooch had traveled all the way from Texas with me. It’s a great little neighbor spot for food and cocktails! The service was friendly and on point from start to finish! I really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere as well. I’m a bourbon lover and their cocktail menu did not disappoint this lady. From the southern belle to the smoky old fashioned, my taste buds enjoyed sipping away at these boozy lovelies! Since I am vegetarian, I opted for the cheese plate(chef’s choice of three) and the LT potato gnocchi(Firey Fungi Farms mushrooms, spinach, caramelized onions, roasted red pepper, boursin cheese cream, CBC). Both were very satisfying to me. There wasn’t one thing I didn’t like on my plate. This was a great recommendation my friend gave and I wouldn’t hesitate to give the same to anyone else.

Trendy setting and great location but not that impressed with the execution of some of their dishes. Pretty pricey for Nashville, definitely on the upper side of the three dollar signs. Had the mahi which as a whole dish was good. However the fish itself was a bit dry and I found myself hunting for more sauce which was way too salty. The car to also seemed more on the all dente dude than preferable. The apple pie for dessert was good. Do not get the radishes. It’s literally a pile of raw radishes and a super mild ranch like dip. I’ll probably try these guys again when their menu changes.

We loved our first visit to this cozy, East Nashville restaurant. I was a bit nervous since reviews seem to be all over the place, but we had a great experience, from the atmosphere and service to the phenomenal food. I had the chicken, my wife had the pork and we both shared the specialty pizza of the night as an appetizer. Everything was incredible. We finished off the night with possibly the best dessert I’ve ever had: Olive & Sinclair chocolate chip skillet. I would go back just for this dessert. Definitely grab dinner here if you get the chance. Make sure you call and get a reservation… probably a week ahead to be safe.

Maybe I’m crazy, but despite the rave reviews, I just really didn’t enjoy this place. The décor is awesome. The whole atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and typical of a higher end East Nashville spot. The wine list is pretty good. That(well, and location and the rave reviews) was the main goal — get a good glass of wine with dinner. Dinner, though, was a different ballgame. I was thrilled upon reading their menu as it offered a wide variety of food to fit most everyone’s cravings and palate. I ordered the lobstah roll tacos as I wasn’t terribly hungry for a hearty meal. This appetizer was $ 15. There were roughly 4 small pieces of really tasty lobster per small tortilla. After a bite, I decided to pick those out separately to savor them because the creamy sauce and salty guac overpower any lobster taste. Everything else seemed overly salty and overly rich. I’m from the south, so I see no reason to make southern food overpriced and pretentious. This place excelled at that.

We had dinner here last Saturday and overall we really loved it. We didn’t realize that before 6 they have community hour(happy hour) which prompted us to order some apps and drinks. We ordered the empanada special(the best thing we had for apps), Korean street tacos and the chips and salsa. The chips and salsa was not good and tasted like something you get from a bag and jar. The empanada has a smoky flavor to it that made you think it was going to be spicy but was surprisingly mild. The Korean street tacos were filled with beef and with the perfect amount of sweetness. For dinner we split the bacon and brussel sprout pizza. It was really good with big chunks of bacon. My only complaint was the crust was pretty burnt on the side that was closest to the flame. Like many others we had the skillet cookie for dessert and it was phenomenal. The cookie was almost like a cookie dough and the ice cream melted into it. You have to get this. Everything that came out looked really good and if I’m ever back in Nashville I’ll be sure to try this place again.
