I used to go to Dawn several years ago at Nippers Corner (whom is wonderful BTW) but she moved to Cool Springs and it was going to be too far for me. I got my hair done by someone else near Donelson where I live. I am SUPER picky about my hair Color. It is (was) a beautiful cool blonde Color. So the last person in Donelson only did my roots which are very dark naturally and it ended up looking brassy like a penny in my root area. I thought back to when I had gone to Jon Alan and how good my hair always looked so I called and asked to see a number 4 stylist since I am so picky and they rate their stylist from 1 – 4 or something like that. I was excited for my appointment. It was at 2:15. I get here at 2:05, I am greeted and I sat down and waited for this Andi person I was going to see. Finally a girl came over and said she was going to shampoo my hair. This was new but ok. She shampooed my hair and sat me in the salon chair waiting for Andi for 30 MINUTES! I got cold with my hair wet, if it were not for that I would have left. I should have left. All the while this Andi person was right next to me doing someone else’s hair the WHOLE time I was waiting getting angrier. I am not an angry person BTW. So FINALLY I had to get up and go ask if my stylist was even there. Girl at the front goes to the back like she is checking for me. Comes back and says Andi will be right with you and tries to butter me up with offering me a drink. NO I don’t want a drink I just want my hair done at this point!!! Meanwhile this Andi chick has been doing someone else’s hair right next to me this whole time and never says a word to me until the client that was beside me leaves. Then Andi quickly introduces herself to me and starts in with what are we doing? Well I showed her pictures and explained what I wanted. I needed the penny looking roots to go away and just be blonde again. She never said she was sorry for making me wait. I felt like I was in a bad seen of a movie. Anyhoo, long story short my hair looks WORSE now and I can’t even tell you what Color it is. Looks Mauve to me. I paid, left, was upset. I thought maybe I will wash it and it will look different the next day so I did. I did not look better, it looked worse!!! I decided to message the salon to try and get a refund. I hated to be that girl but it was $ 135 so to me that was a lot of money. They declined and tried to make me another appointment. I just wanted to put this out there. It was not right the way I was treated there and I will never go back!

Never a bad haircut and everyone is super nice and attentive. I’ve been going for years now.

Fantastic first experience this morning with Jenna! She did exactly what I wanted and then some! Everyone was very accommodating and wonderful. Really great salon and you get so much for the money!!!

This salon is top notch in all levels. It is hard to find someone who knows how to accentuate your hair with a great cut and style. Christa is awesome and I feel lucky to have gotten her when my previous stylist changed locations. Such great energy and it is fun to get worked on, have interesting conversation and feel relaxed instead of seeing it as another task to cross off the list.
Love her technique and eye for details. Only wants to deliver the best and that is what she does every time. Much gratitude for the owner’s eye for detail. The ambience is excellent and I leave happy every time. Kudos to Christa!!!

the Jon Alan Salon at Nippers Corner, and love the results!!! Krista listens to what you want (or can give you great suggestions) and then gives you exactly the hairstyle that you wanted. We won’t be seeing anyone else anymore and highly recommend her!

Wow… From the pristine surroundings, to the welcome Indian head massage to the awesome color and cut. This place has it all. Thank you Jon and Alan for a great experience.

So happy I was able to get a same-​day appt. at this salon! I arrived a bit early and was immediately greeted by my stylist, Hayley (adorable…great personality and style). After what was one of the better consultations I’ve had, Hayley started the complimentary shoulder/​scalp massage with the oil of my choice. That, along with another scalp massage during my shampoo put me in a blissful state. Hayley really took her time with my cut to make sure I received exactly what I was looking for. I walked in with a messy mop of hair and walked out with a sassy cut. I’ve already re-​booked for my next cut. Great experience in every way… thanks Hayley!!!

Being new to Nashville, this salon was recommended to me as I needed a good haircut and color since I had a few inches of outgrowth. The atmosphere was nice, very pampering, and when I left, I had half gray hair with blonde highlights and half brown hair with blonde highlights. The cut was even but certainly not flattering-​and I left 200.00 lighter. The stylist not only didn’t listen to me, she obviously didn’t care much about whether I’d be coming back. This experience was a year ago, and bad enough that I spent a year box coloring my own hair until I found someone I could trust to fix the damage. I would not recommend this salon to anyone.

I am brand new to Nashville. One of the most difficult parts about moving is finding someone that can cut your hair well. I have lived in several cities across the country and I’ve always started at Unilocal to help me find a good salon.
Today I found what appeared to be a great salon. The staff was friendly and when I walked in and saw that it was an all aveda salon, I thought it was going to be great.
So I get a girl that is going to cut my hair. We sit down and I tell her what I want. I am pretty sure I still speak English. Then she gives a lackluster head massage to begin. Not very conversational and she starts cutting my hair with the clippers. Then we go to the sink and she washes my hair filling my ears with shampoo and drenching me with water that was too cold.
Then back to the chair where she cuts and cuts and cuts and by the time it’s over she has done nothing that I asked and I have a haircut for a month that I hate. Thankfully hair grows out.
I should point out that when I called to set the appointment they told me the prices ranged from $ 25-​$ 50 for a man’s cut. I opted for the $ 25 and that is possibly why I got what I got. Maybe the moral of the story is don’t take the newbies and get someone with some experience.
They didn’t charge me for the lovely experience. So guess the hair hunt continues next month…

I visited this salon for the first time today. Amanda was amazing from the minute I walked in the door. She listened to what I wanted, offered helpful suggestions and let me know the exact routine before we got started. I told her my price point and she provided me with options to get exactly what I wanted. The appointment began with a complimentary, amazing scalp massage. Protein treatments, a make up touchup, and a hand massage accompanied my color treatment. Other reviews I read prior to my visit stated that products were pushed on customers. This was not my experience. Products that were used were explained and some were suggested for purchase, however I in no way felt obligated to buy. I walked in the salon willing to give it a try. I walked out a loyal customer.

Went in for my first time last week and had a hair «trim» by Jena. I liked her very much and she did a great job on my hair. She gave me a tour of the salon, she listened to what I wanted done to my hair and then she had me smell several different oils and choose one I liked for my scalp massage. AAAGGGHHH, it felt so good. It was so relaxing. She then washed and conditioned my hair with a product for thin hair and then explained the benefits of the products to me later. She did a great job on the cut and blow dry and then even gave me a complimentary touch up on my makeup. I felt so pampered. Because Jena has only been there for 9 months, the charge for a haircut is the least expensive of all of them but I will definitely be going back to her. She did an excellent job and I liked her very much. I am going to make an appointment for highlights next.

A Groupon brought me in and I was scheduled with Rachel T., and I just had a 2^nd appointment with her. She’s a great gal, easy to have work on my hair. Rachel’s creative, willing to venture out of the box if you desire!
I used to visit the Jon Alan in Bellevue, and loved my stylist Élan there! She went onti sinewhere else, and so I took a break from Jon Alan ’til the Groupon came ’round in the last year. The head massage — the first thing that happens in the chair at Jon Alan is a head massage by your hair stylist, with an Aveda oil. SO awesome. So worth a visit! Really, even during my post-​color shampoo, I went into a zone — the kind of peaceful feeling that one seems to so rarely have access to.
Pricing is reasonable at Jon Alan. (I think if a place charges over $ 160 or so for full highlights and base color, it’s too expensive.) I like Aveda salons, which this is.
When you walk in, Rachel T. is the one with the hippest hair… :D

Amy at the Nippers corner location gives me the very best cut/​color. Last visit she did an amazing up-​do for my wedding. She listened to what I wanted. I looked and felt amazing on my wedding day. I will continue to go to her in the future, and would recommend her to my friends.

I enjoy the scalp and shoulder massage that comes with a haircut — very relaxing. I’ve been mostly pleased with the haircuts and color I’ve gotten here; sometimes it feels like the stylists don’t really listen to what I ask for. I have been frustrated when they are running 30 – 40 minutes late, but don’t call me… if I was running late, I would call them. :)

I don’t know why anyone would recommend this Salon! The talent in this facility is horrible! You pay top price for low quality work! 90% of the stylist are «new» and have zero clue what they are doing. The stylist I had last visit didn’t even know she had to wash conditioner out of my hair before styling! She styled my hair that was greased to my head from conditioner and was about to let me walk out the door. Even the «manager» who is a stylist herself and has been with the business for years said «oh your hair looks great» This manager spent most her time counseling the other stylist while leaving her own clients to sit and wait in her chair for long periods of time. I paid my over priced ticket and was about to leave until Jon came over and asked me if they washed my hair after the color treatment? I said they washed it but she didn’t rinse it! Needless to say I spent over 4 hours at the salon that day and was still charged full price for my visit. Don’t get me wrong the girls are very pleasant and offer good customer service but the talent sucks! Even my mother stopped going after the last stylist butchered her hair and gave her a hack job of a cut! My mother and I are now going to a great salon with exceptional service that is almost half the price!
