I try to eat very little sugar, so when I found out Fleur de Lis Flavors offered sugar free snow balls I was instantly in love. I could literally eat the sugar free Tiger’s Blood snow ball every day. It’s a mouth-watering mix of strawberry and coconut without any of the calories or sugar to fret over. What could be better than that? If you are looking for a really great snow ball, Fleur de Lis Flavors is the ONLY place to go!

I tried Fleur de Lis Snowballs at the hot chicken festival, and they were delicious. I just moved from New Orleans a few months ago and while I was there I lived next door to Plum Street Snowballs. If you have ever been to New Orleans, you mouth just fell open in envy. Luckily I can control myself and never carry cash, so I didn’t eat snowballs everyday. As soon as I saw Fleur de Lis, I knew that I needed to try it. While I was waiting in line, I noticed that they has similar flavors that you might find at a NOLA snowball stand. I was overcome with joy when I saw they had condensed milk. Don’t knock it until you try it. The first thing I asked when I got to the front of the line is if they were from NOLA. Turns out they were and I was talking to the owner. She knew exactly where Plum Street was and seemed excited to meet someone from New Orleans. I ordered the wedding cake with condensed milk, and it was spot on! Took me right back to the days I spent in NOLA. I can’t wait to go back and try some more flavors. In all honesty what makes a good snowball is the ice, not the flavors. Good job Fleur de Lis!

Fleur De Lis Flavors is a New Orleans style Snowball truck that I had noticed at The Nashville Farmer’s Market but never took the time to try, but was so glad once I did! These were the most delicious snowballs(like Icees but a lighter texture) I have ever had and the family that owns and runs the business could not have been sweeter(their boys are pictured below). I ordered the Strawberry Cheesecake($ 3) and they talked me in to adding the Condensed milk($.50) which I was hesitant about but trusted the experts and did. I was so glad I added it because it provided a cream like flavor and texture that made the Strawberry Cheesecake Snowball, in my opinion, unbeatable. My husband ordered the Tiger’s Blood which was Strawberry and Coconut and while I am usually not a fan of Coconut flavor, I loved it as well! My friend was with us too and went for the Dreamsicle which he said tasted like an old fashioned Dreamsicle, just better! Fleur De Lis Flavors is a great addition to Nashville and the perfect treat on any hot Nashville night!

Tasty! I’m on a shave ice kick at the moment, so when I read Aaron D.‘s review I had to find this place. They had snowballs, soft serve, nuts, and possibly more, but my only focus was on getting cold orange-flavored goodness into my face, so I didn’t look too hard at the menu. They pour syrup onto the ice in a cup, then compress it with another cup of ice on top, then douse that half with syrup, so it’s flavored throughout-basically the perfect technique. It was good, perfect for a hot day at the Market.

Is there anything nicer than strolling around Bicentennial Mall on a sunny warm afternoon with a nectar-flavored snowball drizzled with condensed milk? Did you know that on a 70-degreeish day that a snowball will last an incredibly long time, potentially keeping you cool and refreshed for over an hour? (I’m really not sure how this works. I kept expecting the ice to melt and leave me with a nectar-flavored puddle, but the snowball kept its cool WAY longer than any ice cream or soft serve I’ve ever had. After I walked all the way around the park and stopped to listen to an impromptu carillon bell concert(very cool!) at the part of the park next to Jefferson Street, I walked back to the Farmers Market, left my snowball in my car and browsed Garden of Babylon planty nursery for a good 10 – 15 minutes. I came back, got into my boiling hot car and there was STILL some frozen snowball left in the cup. Are they working some stay-frozen magic at Fleur de Lis? Who knows. What I can tell you is that snowballs are a delicious, affordable and colorful way to keep your cool. And owner Tanisha is incredibly friendly and charming. She teased me about my previous lack of snowball experience, gently guided me through this first-time ordering process and even gave me some tips of snowball places to visit in her native New Orleans. IMHO, Las Paletas is overrated. If you want a quintessential chilly and sweet Nashville iced treat, Fleur de Lis is where it’s at.

Decent little shaved ice place. The frozen snowball was tasty, held together and at $ 2 for the small, very reasonably priced. The guy at the counter was very friendly, made a suggestion(which I politely declined), and got my snowball together quick. Not bad at all.

Fleur de Lis was the first spot I hit upon in Nashville that made me go running to Unilocal to draft a review. On a sweltery August day which included a walk from Broadway up to the Farmer’s Market, Fleur de Lis was my saving grace. Two shared snowballs cooled us down to acceptably comfortable temps. Such a great alternative to ice cream. The blackberry had a stronger richer flavor, while mild peach was more subtle. Surprisingly, only the latter dyed my tongue a new color! And, the tot at the cash register was such a savvy little businessman that I swear, all us customers were ready to double our orders. I bet the snowballier making our treats(dad, I suppose?) was real proud! All in all, Fleur de Lis was a satisfying experience in more than one way!

Fleur de Lis makes an incredible selction of great snowballs. It’s a nice, inexpensive, cool way to treat yourself. The flavors are really good and she’s added some sugar free ones. They also say to try one topped with sweetened condensed milk which I haven’t done yet but this really is just a nice way to end a lunch at the market or a shopping trip at the market.

I’m a New Orleans transplant — so I was extremely excited to see a true snowball stand open in Nashville. The snowballs are the real deal, really delicious. My favorites — peach or banana with condensed milk. Fellow New Orleans folks will appreciate that they have Spearmint under the counter(just ask) and will happily offer you a straw :) If you’re new to the snowball scene, though, here’s what you need to know: A snowball is not a snowcone. A snowcone is what you get at the circus — it’s course ice with maybe a few flavor choices. It tends to end up as a block of ice that’s difficult to eat. A snowball is finely shaved ice that holds the flavors well(and there are a plethora to choose from…) Tanisha is the owner, and most of the time you’ll see her or her husband manning the stand. If they don’t have a line, it’s really a joy to talk to them both. If snowballs aren’t your thing, though I’m not sure that’s possible — they have a bunch of other dessert options — candy, glazed nuts, soft serve, etc. Fleur de Lis is my favorite dessert place in Nashville, and it’s been a great excuse to get out to the Farmer’s Market more often.
