«This is the best lunch I have EVER had!» — My 11 year old. She was super hungry and apparently went bonkers for this place but not after accidentally saying«where are all the people? Is something wrong here?» as the owner walked by. Kids. They are great. I’ve lived by this area for forever and frankly couldn’t tell you one chinese or sushi place from the next in Bellevue but I opted to give E Hur a try on the recommendation of a friend. My friends praise involved them giving you A LOT of food which, um, isn’t something I’ve sought in a restaurant since I was in grad school. Truth be told, it is a lot of food while it would probably 3 stars in the real world, I’m throwing in an extra star because the price was crazy low($ 4 for a pile of shrimp fried rice for my daughter w very large shrimp), the place was super clean(who gets 100 from the restaurant inspector? — this place!), and they were soooo excited for customers. Short story — support a good locally owned restaurant. The details… The owners have clearly put in some money to this location and its cute-ish, particularly for a strip mall. Did I mention clean, because I meant like, eat off the floors clean. The staff was kind, very attentive without hovering and their lunch menu features $ 5 – 6 chicken teriyaki, beef w broccoli… all kinds of cool things. They have some non-asian dishes for kiddos. We got wontons which cheated a bit. They were steamed then ‘pan fried’ over a grill making them sort of char grilled and wet but the chicken and vegetables inside were good and the sauce was exceptional. I went beef and broccoli w brown rice and while the broccoli was great the steak was stringy and cheap tasting. My meal was clearly the low point though as my son’s chicken was much better and my daughter’s shrimp fried rice was a winner. What makes this place stand out from others in Belleuve is that I absolutely wouldn’t hesitate to stop in and eat here. It was really well done, great lighting and service and the lunch specials in particularly can’t be beat.

When this place first opened, we were impressed with the somewhat off-beat and fresh take on traditional Chinese take-out. Lately, though, the quality has gone way downhill. We ordered General Tso’s chicken– it was bland and oily. The sweet and sour chicken was atrocious. They call it gourmet chinese food? This dish consisted of flavorless breaded little chicken tenders with a canned red sweet sauce and pale canned pineapple(three tiny chunks). Awful. The worst, however, was the vegetable lo mein. This was godawful with a weird metallic taste. It’s such a simple dish– how do you mess this up? I really want this place to succeed so perhaps I’ll give them another chance. *Use a coupon… And it was an icy February night with few customers. Perhaps the main chef didn’t make it to work. Still the worst chinese takeout I’ve ever had so the next time must be better. It’s a very pretty, upscale looking interior with a bar and the owner is very attentive to keeping everything looking nice. Perhaps he should focus more on the food.

Decent Place! This place is located inside a large strip mall, near a Kroger, so there is plenty of parking. And the staff seemed friendly, although I ordered out from here. Walking in is a bit of a chore, because the door apparently takes a nice effort to open, so stretch your arms before walking. The décor is actually somewhat modern, definitely looks a bit more upscale than I expected. I’m a vegetarian for the most part, so I only ordered veggie options, so this review is not based on the meat options. For starters I got the spring rolls, and this was one of the better ones I’ve tasted in Nashville. The filling seemed fresher than the standard affair from most Chinese food place, and this is something I would probably order again if I go back again. I also got the Veggie Tempura and this one probably cost them atleast a star because I just didn’t like it, and the sauce with it was pretty terrible. I think I stopped eating this about half way through. I’m not sure if it wasn’t fried enough or what, but something seemed off about the dish. For the main dish, I got veggie lo mein, and it was good. For the surrounding area, it was probably the best I’ve tasted. I moved here from NY, so not the best I’ve tasted, but I’ve tried a few ones around Bellvue and Nashville, and this was probably the most edible from the choices. I’m not a big fan of a lot of the veggies that are places in lo mein dishes, so a lot of times, I pick them out. I liked that this dish wasn’t packed with them, and there was more lo mein than vegetables, which is good in my book, but may not be so in other people’s eyes. I think overall, I like the place as a decent option for Chinese food. It looks clean, is new, and the food tastes pretty good. Probably the best Chinese food option in the immediate area.

I’m writing this review from the perspective of a LA native who just relocated to Nashville. This Chinese food was… weird. It wasn’t inedible or anything, but it was not like any Chinese food I have ever had before. The fried green bean appetizer came with RANCH. Say whaaaa? Bizarre. And the garlic chicken literally tasted like BBQ chicken in a watery garlic sauce. The meat quality was good but the flavor was very odd. Honestly, the strange flavors interfered with my ability to appreciate the fact that the Singapore street noodles were, at least, reminiscent of Chinese food. I won’t be going here again because it made me sad. Hopefully, my quest for decent and authentic Chinese cuisine in Nashville will eventually be met with some success.

Love this place! Quality restaurant where price vs. value they are truly second to none. Great food where quality is never subpar. They never let you down. I went in to order a to go order without calling and before I had finished half of a very well poured drink my food was ready. Great service, great food, and a great time. I would bring my parents here or the best most beautiful date!!! Highly recommend trying out EHURWEI!!!

Came here for lunch after hiking. Very tasty and great prices! Try the general tsos chicken. Much higher quality than your typical chinese, and the décor is great

Awesome interior and reliable takeout! Friendly staff. We’ve tried many of the entrees for takeout only. The egg drop soup is really tasty and there are lots of interesting entrees to try. I didn’t love the curries because the price was higher and the flavor depth wasn’t there. but have been overall happy with all the other entrees we’ve tried! Great addition to Bellevue.

A hidden gem. Cool little place in the Bellevue/West Meade area & close to Bellemeade. I’ve been twice now & each time the food was really good and the staff very attentive. Bethany was my waitress tonight. It’s Vibey. A row of booths are behind some sheer curtains. Cool little bar area. Not much for wine but great choices for liquor & beer. 2 TVs are discreetly placed. My only suggestion would be to dim the lights just a bit. Date night! #Iwillbeback

Standard issue suburban Chinese fare. Nothing blew me away, but it was good enough to finish. I ordered kung pao chicken. The highlight was the egg drop soup — pretty darn tasty.

This is a review solely based on take-out: I placed my order at the bar as the bartender had his back towards me and entered my order in the POS system. After an easy 15m wait, I was given a brown paper bag. No signs of gratitude or a smile, just given the bag. I left to find that to my surprise, Egg Drop Soup was seeping through the cracks of my car’s leather seats.(I had instead ordered Hot & Sour Soup and it was not included with my order.) The lid to the container was not sealed properly and the bottom of the paper bag was deteriorated by the time I drove my 2 miles home. The Chicken Teriyaki was dry, thick, and leathery — like jerky. The Beef Lo Mein left much to be desired as it was very bland, had a color-less sauce(or no sauce, as it was just oily with a slightly salty flavor.) The samosa pastry wrapping around the spring rolls had raw, pasty layers towards the center’s filling and the steamed dumplings were still partially cold in the center, confirming my initial thoughts about how they looked previously frozen. Hey, we got 8 stale fortune cookies though!

My husband and I are new to the area and wanted to check this place out — we were very impressed with the décor and cleanliness of the restaurant. The food was very good and the portions were big enough to have plenty for lunch the next day. We had EXCELLENT service and will definitely be going back!

LOVE this place! I CRAVE it! My favorite dish by far is Mu Shu Chicken. I like to add some spice to it. Something about it tastes like Chang’s lettuce wraps… sans the lettuce and noodles. Pad Thai is great. Oh and dumplings are a great way to start the meal. I could drink the sauce! Staff and owner go above and beyond to try to please everyone! It’s a cool environment in a quiet part of town. Check it out.

We had quite a bit of trouble finding the place but for those who are looking, it is in the same shopping as Kroger on Hwy 70. There were very few people here when we were so the service was pretty good. We started by ordering the Spring Rolls which were fried perfectly and delicious. Word of caution: the Chinese mustard is way more intense than most places. It started a thunderstorm in my sinus cavity. My wife had the Sesame Chicken and she loved it. I had a bite of hers and it was very good. I had the Pepper Steak and it was mediocre. Not a bad place. We’ll probably try it again, but next time I want to try the traditional Chinese menu that other reviewers wrote about.

This place gets an extra star for great service. We had a nice young gentleman(Murphy) for our waiter and he was very attentive and fast! The food was pretty good. We got the seafood combination which was served on a hot plate at the table so it was piping hot. One criticism is that we could have done without the imitation crab meat. We got the braised tofu from the traditional Chinese menu. Both dishes were very flavorful and a good sized portion. The manager(I think?) also came by to ask how we were doing which was a nice touch. Ambiance and interior are beautiful! It is definitely worth a try especially for a nice date.

This place is a gem. Nashville has plenty of not-so-great Chinese spots, but this is certainly not one of them. My advice? Request to see the authentic menu and ask lots of questions. The owner(?) will be happy to engage if you show interest and will go into as much detail as he can to describe the dishes. The dish name escapes me, but try the one with stir-fried pork, bean curd, and Chinese celery. Do it. I mean it. If you want to go a more«familiar» route the Mu Shu Pork is on point, and the General Tso’s chicken isn’t too shabby either(ask for it extra spicy). Oh… and don’t miss the Taiwanese Won-ton Soup, which I think is also on the authentic menu. The only drawback to this place is the occasional spotty service. Every staff member we have encountered has been super-friendly, but on occasion things can take more time than usual and water glasses can sometimes run empty. It’s not negligence though. They appear to have some young staff that are learning the restaurant ropes, so cut them a break. Everyone needs a place to learn.

Clean place out in Bellevue, portions are ample, food seemed fresh, help is not all that good. Food was bland. What a little freshly chopped cilantro could do to some of those dishes… Everyone said their food was bland. Shame too. Not a large variety of choices. Plum wine was good. I doubt I would return.

I was so excited when E Hur Wei was opening. In Bellevue and West Nashville, Chinese food is mostly the«super buffet» or takeout spot with, at best, average quality. I had high hopes that E Hur Wei«Chinese Bistro» would fill a void in Bellevue, if not Nashville. So much for hopes. DECOR: The décor and ambiance is nice. They really give you the impression that you have walked in to a more upscale Chinese food experience. However, they get marks off when I was seated at a table that was obviously wiped down with a dirty rag — greasy streaks covered the table. MENU I was disappointed. Aside from an interesting-sounding Tofu and Pork appetizer, the menu is pretty much what you would see at your average takeout place like China Panda or China Spring, just down the road. In fact, I think the takeout places have more selections, overall. THEFOOD The Tofu and Pork appetizer was entirely bland. Maybe that is authentic, but it could have used something, anything, to make it memorable. One of my benchmarks for a Chinese Restaurant is Hot and Sour Soup. I love it! The Hot and Sour Soup here was mediocre, and like many, way too light on both the hot and the sour. I asked for additional hot sauce and some white vinegar to make it minimally acceptable. The stir-fried pork and scallion entrée(I forgot the name) had decent flavor, but was VERY greasy. Again, no better, or even worse, than what I would expect from an average takeout place. FINALTHOUGHTS E Hur Wei had a great idea to present a «Chinese Bistro.» They fail miserably in the attempt. The better than average décor does not compensate for the mediocre menu and food. You are much better off driving a bit and spending your dollars at PF Chang’s or Fulin’s — neither is stellar, but still better than E Hur Wei. Better yet, go Korean or Vietnamese instead, we have some great options here in Nashville.
