After a hot, muggy, run from our parking to the Ryman, we were so happy to find this sweat treat shop! We didn’t have lunch, but did have a malt. I agree with another reviewer, it’s like a cross between going back in time and Willy Wonka’s chocolate shop. A quiet, beautiful old shop that makes delicious malts! The only odd part was the girl at the counter told us to sit at a booth and she’d bring us the malt, but the servers looked at us strangely and made us feel out of place when we relayed that message. However, the malt was delicious, the space was cool and quiet and we enjoyed!

It is so nice to find a family friendly spot on lower Broad! I took my daughter and her friend for a weekday lunch and they loved it. We were the only customers for a bit, but others started arriving after a bit. The girls loved their PB&Js and I had a Veggie Sandwich that was good. My side was pasta salad, and it was swimming in Italian dressing — not my fav. The girls split a sundae and thought it was a big treat! We will be back for a sweet treat for sure!

We will be eating here anytime we are in Nashville. Food is great and sundaes are large. Prices are very reasonable. Atmosphere is friendly and the staff is great.

Landed in Nashville for the half marathon and my starving running buddy and I were looking for a place to grab a quick lunch. Well — everywhere but here was packed. This had us worried, but the lunch we were served(veggie sandwisces and soup) was more than fine. We chalked up the emptyness to the bad weather(it was after all primarily an ice crean joint) and the lac of live music. Thought this place could be great for part of a date.

Hey, pretty good. Nice atmosphere. The shakes are big and good. The tuna melt I had for lunch was good. It was kind of small for the price, but quality.

I of course had to stop in here since it is named after me!!! I thought it was a cute little place and I wish I had more time to try the food, but I did check out the candy and fudge!

Does anyone else feel like breaking into Willy Wonka songs as they enter this place. Very old time soda and ice cream shop. This is an excellent place to stop and rest while walking through downtown. Excellent ice cream and sundaes. The sodas have free refills and if you get a float they will refill the soda for free. Makes me feel like I stepped back in time for a few!

We walked here after dinner downtown with our 2 year old… I love the look and feel of this place. Only problem is their air conditioning was out, but things happen like that out of the owners control. There was no wait, and we loaded up on fudge & candy! I feel like this place should be swamped, its awesome! The staff was friendly as well. If the air conditioner had of been working I would have gave 5 stars! We will go back!

If you need to meet someone clandestinely, old fashioned booths and a machine in each booth where you can pay 25c for the violin music cabinet, this is the place both times I’ve been in it has been virtually empty. A cup of soup and a ham and cheese sandwich was reasonable but not outstanding. Lemonade was super tart so water it down a bit. $ 10 lunch in peace and quiet. Some fudges and sweets available at the counter and boxes of moonpies and taffy to buy if you need a gift.

After a long day of shopping, I found myself parched and low on blood sugar. This meant impending doom, as I stared down the street and anticipating my 30+ minute walk back to my hotel. What to do?! With shaky hands and weak legs, I stumbled into Diana’s Sweet Shoppe, smelling the warm and almost offensive blends of sugars wafting onto the sidewalk. I was immediately greeted by Landon(I think that was his name… it was something unique with an L…) and we chatted for awhile until I realized my system was quickly failing and I needed something NOW. Rootbeer float, duh! Why was that decision so hard?! I got my rootbeer float, received a warning about the foam and went to town on it while slowly strolling down the sidewalk. Luckily, while there, my dad called me and offered to give me a ride. This place was not only a lifesaver, but totally worth it! Landon(gosh, I feel so unsure about his name) was a superb conversationalist and we realized we are both from the same area of Ohio! Go figure! The interior, as mentioned is very nostalgic and warm feeling – it makes you want to sit on the floor and play all day, meanwhile collecting a chocolate and gummy worm sugar ring around your lips. It was just perfect! I’m really not sure I would order real food from here. It just doesn’t seem right!

This place is so much charming and warm, a real slice of Americana amidst gaudy country bars! As another reviewer mentioned, Diana’s Sweet Shoppe is reminiscent of something out of «Charlie and the Chocolate Factory», complete with antique interior architecture/décor and a multitude of old time candies. If you’re nostalgic or have a sweet tooth, it’s definitely worth a visit!

Ever watched the classic movie, «Willie Wanka’s Chocolate Factory»? Remember the store where Charlie bought the candy bar with the golden ticket? Well, this place reminds me alot of that store!!! For some reason, I heard the«golden ticket» song in my head while in shopping around in there. The young girl behind the desk laughed when I told her the comment above but it was soooo true. lol This place is sooooooo cute! Even the seating in the back of the store make you feel like such a kid! ha ha I just purchased a corner of some Diana’s fudge! Just a taste is all I needed for my sweet tooth but indulge it all if you can handle the sweetness! Note: Great place for first dates OR kiss and make ups! Just a suggestion! :)

Not sure what to think… We had an amazing veggie sandwich, disgusting pasta salad, terribly thin, bland shake, and an awesome sundae(great fudge!). I’m not sure why anyone would emphasize the candy selection. It’s not the huge candy shop that some reviews led me to believe. But that’s okay — how much candy do you really need? Nostalgic décor and really cute place. We would go again(and just not order shakes).

My family and I stumbled upon this local treasure after Thanksgiving. You can easily miss it downtown amongst the lights and chaos of the bars. The inside is like walking into an old fashion candy shop and ice cream store… it IS an old fashioned candy shop and ice cream store! Every candy you can imagine, new and old, is in this store as well as homemade ice cream, hand-pulled taffy, fudge, and anything else to satisfy your sweet tooth. The menu also includes brunch and lunch items, but I’ll be coming back to try the smores and hand-spun milkshakes :) AWESOME: banana split and hot fudge sundae

I’d probably have rated this place with three stars, since it’s good but not outstanding, and the place is attractive, but the idea of a bulk candy shop isn’t novel or exciting. But there were two things which really stand out. First, the décor is from an old sweet shop from the 1920s, and it is very attractive. It gives a real feeling of nostalgia; and that’s really cool. The second thing is Luke, who made my milkshake; he was a really nice guy: really chatty(which I like), outgoing, friendly, and he made what likely have been a very bland experience a pleasurable one. He knows how to put together a mean Milkshake, too. Props. It’s just a nice place to go to get out of the heat, enjoy a little treat, and bask in an environment which can rarely be found. For pure ice cream, Mike’s is probably a little better, since it’s known to be home made, and they really go out of their way to make it great, but otherwise, you might enjoy the sit-down experience better at Diana’s.

Hurrah for Unilocal!Diana’s made me happy for several reasons: –the sheer novelty of it being a candy and sundae shoppe. –that the interior is from the 1920s. Historic appeal appeals to me! –that I can have a healthy lunch to rationalize a big old fashioned banana split. The veggie sandwich is vegan and the desserts are classic and decadent.

We stopped by for a shake and cone and Saturday night. This place is beautiful! Historic Americana meets Nashville’s Broadway. Wonderful service.
