Centennial Psychiatric Associates

Centennial Psychiatric Associates is one of the best places I have ever been treated. Michael J Murphy MD is hands down the best psychiatrist I have ever had. He is also the medical director at Parthenon Pavilion so if you need to be hospitalized he is available for both. Im fairly certain he isnt taking new patient as outpatients but if you are admitted to Parthenon for any reason hes the guy you want. There are only three doctors and a nurse practitioner that see patients on an outpatient basis. Dr Lynch and Dr Jack are the other two. The remaining doctors in the practice only see inpatients at Parthenon. This is not an average in and out with a refill in 10 minutes or less kind or practice nor is Dr Murphy that kind of doctor. If you have any long term experience with psyciatrists they are generally quite stingy with their time and rarely do much listening. Dr Murphy has been my doctor for 7 years. I have some long term complicated and chronic issues and a lot of bad past experiences with other doctors. He stands apart for many reasons. He is kind empathetic and he listens to whats going on and actually wants to know the answer. He has gone above and beyond more than once to help me. He cant be on time to save his life but when youre with him he is very generous with his time and to whatever you need from him.
His staff is great always friendly and helpful. Ashley is a great help when I need something important from him.
This is a place that stands out. I have had a lot of bad experiences this has never been one. I followed Dr Murphy from his practice at Vanderbilt. Tri star didnt work with my insurance and when he switched to CPA he wasnt going to be able to accept my ins anymore. He signed a single case agreement with my insurance company so he could continue to treat me. Who does that? He does. He is the kind of Dr they dont make anymore not enough of them anyway.
I wish he had time to help everyone who needed it the way he has helped me. But I have never recommended a psychiatrist or a practice to anyone. This one absolutely best I have ever been to. Would send any loved one who needed help here. Standard of care surpasses any I have ever gotten elsewhere.
