Brother Z’s Wang Shack

Brother Z is the plug on the wings. Mix up your flavors but make sure lemon pepper is one of em’. I wish the fries were more consistent though.

The chicken wings are very good. My friend ordered the fish and she was very pleased. Brother Z is just a delight to talk to. Very down to earth and someone you can relate to. As soon as we walked in it was as if we had known each other for years. The laughs started!
I got 6 wings with fries and he allowed me to get 2 different flavors because it was my first time. I got cajun and lemon pepper and they were good! The food is cooked to order so you will have to wait a few minutes, but it is well worth it! I am one that is not easily impressed, but Brother Z, you did yo thang on them wangs!!! I will be back and God bless you!

Best wings in Nashville, no competition. Better than any local or chain wing place in or around the Nashville area. Brother Z is so friendly and goes out of his way to make sure your experience is great. Best wings I have ever had in my life and it has always been a great, consistent experience. Great place ran by a great man.

Wings are typically hard to judge because a lot of places do them well, but damn, Brother Z’s knows how to stand out.
I tried the hot flavor and the buffalo flavor, and both were incredible. The wings had tons of meat on the bones and the sauce was enough to enjoy, but not too much that it got all over the place. Great fries too that you can use to dip in the leftover wing sauce.
You’ll be hard pressed to find a better bang for your buck than Brother Z’s

The wings here are absolutely amazing. Truly the best I’ve had in Nashville. Just looks like a little hole in the wall, but those are usually the best places. The wings are a very good size, perfectly cooked (no soggy skin or uncooked meat), and there are a ton of flavors to choose from; dry rubs, wet rubs, hot flavors, mild flavors, all over the board. All of them are delicious. Brother Z is also one of the nicest, friendliest, and most enthusiastic restaurant owners I’ve come across in Nashville. The prices are reasonable, and I never have waited over 20 minutes when calling in a to go order. Don’t let the building looks or location deter you — you will not be disappointed if you try some of Brother Z’s food! It’s delicious!

The BEST wings you will EVER have. Guaranteed. Anyone I take here (I’ve taken around 30) becomes instantly obsessed with this place. It is one of my favorite restaurants in all of Nashville (and I’m from here). On top of everything, Brotha Z is a saint. I’m glad people like him still exist in this world. Unilocal was created for people to find places like this. Also get honey mustard/​bbq!

Wow! How have I missed this place?! Hubs and I were going to do our normal hot chicken place for dinner and remembered driving by this place. We thought we would give it a shot and called on the phone to get the menu. Not only did I LOVE the guy on the phone, but to say we were impressed with the food, is an understatement. YUM! We got the garlic pepper, buffalo, mystery and honey BBQ. This is our new place! Do it!

Brother Z always tells me when I’m leaving here, «Call me if you need me!» And let me tell you, after eating those wings of his, you will need him. You’ll have the number on speed dial.
But seriously. Hands down my favorite place in Nashville for wings. Honey Gold and Mystery Spice are my favorite flavors.
This place is the definition of a hole in the wall! It is a shack… so there’s not really much room, but enough for you to order your food, which is really all that matters. Brother Z is very friendly and funny, so I always leave with my wings in a great mood!

This place is incredible. I got the mystery spice and hot and the hot was spicy and flavorful. Mystery spice was incredible. They also have crinkle cut fries! Brother Z himself helped us pick out our order. He was so friendly and welcoming. Best wings in Nashville! Come here… You won’t regret it!

I found out about this little place from a friend, really cool guy, passionate about his food and accommodating, and grateful for the business. I like the little mom and pop dive places, often the best food and supporting local people, not some doofus in a high rise 500 miles away. The wings were delicious, I had the cajun rub on mine, and side of fries, good eats. He made sure I had a takeout menu and business cards to share with others. I will be back and tell others how good it is.

Fresh wings, good sized, especially loved the Cajun and Mystery Sauce. Reasonably priced, worth driving over into unknown territory. Very surprising considering the extra modest structure.

It was my first visit and I must say, the food is great. I really enjoyed the cajun wings and xx hot. The owner was a great guy and easy to talk to. He gave me a sample of his ribs and it was one of the better ones I have had in Nashville

How did I manage to not know about this place? I visited their booth at the Music City Hot Wing Festival and tried the mild, hot and Cajun Wings. Delicious! The folks at the booth were really sweet and gave me a business card with their menu on it. I will be visiting soon!

Fantastic. And I’m from Buffalo. Brother Z is super nice and welcoming. Wings are crispy and juicy. Try the corn dogs.

Brotha Z is a great guy who puts his heats into his Wangz.
I had a one night lay over in Nashville and so glad I found his place.
I noticed Truckers calling in and picking up orders for the road, He has a nice little pull through in from of the building. He also has a small deck for outdoor dining. He has a variety of beverages and if he don’t have what you want, the liquor store, just steps away, will make your happy too.
I had three kinds of wings and all were the best ever.
You gotta try them and you will be back.
I have sent several people to this business and they have not been open during their posted business hours, so I would be sure to call ahead if you are making a special trip. For that reason I dropped a star, but still a fan.

Brother Z (aka Allen Zirker) delivers on the promise to provide you some wings. Besides being a fantastically friendly guy, you get some fantastic made to order wings from his «Shack».
Be warned, this is not a restaurant. There isn’t really anywhere to sit. Plan to come and get your Wings (Wangs?) and get them to go. Feel free (as mentioned in other reviews) to call your order in ahead of time so they will be ready when you get there. My party of 6 shared two orders of 30 of various styles and it was about 30 minutes to prepare them all. If we had called ahead, they would have been ready when we got there.
Don’t let the strange name stop you. If you want some delicious home made Wangs, stop in and see Brother Z.
